The study of boundary tones in connected speech or dialogues is one of the most underdeveloped areas of Korean prosody. This. paper concerns the boundary tones of intonational phrase-final morphemes which are shown in the speech corpus of dialogues. Results of phonetic analysis show that different kinds of boundary tones are realized, depending on the positions of the intonational phrase-final morphemes in the sentences.. This study has also shown that boundary tone patterning is somewhat related to the sentence structure, and for better speech recognition and speech synthesis, it presents a simple model of boundary tones based on the fundamental frequency contour. The results of this study will contribute to our understanding of the prosodic pattern of Korean connected speech or dialogues.

이 연구의 목적은 대화행위 개념을 이용하여 독일어 일정협의 대화에서 나타나는 대화의 일반적인 흐름을 밝히는 데에 있다. 이 연구의 기본가정은 대화행위 개념의 도입이 자동번역시스템의 성능향상에 기여한다는 것이다. 그 이유는 통사적인 분석이나 의미적인 분석이 해결하지 못하는 문제들을, 문맥지식을 활용하여 해결하는 데에 있어 대화행위개념이 매우 유용하기 때문이다. 이 대화행위 개념의 하위분류작업은 독일에서 수행되고 있는 VERBMOBIL 프로젝트에서 이루어진 것이다. 본 연구에서는 전문가들에 의해 전사된 실제 대화 자료들을 대화행위의 개념을 활용하여 분석하고, 하나의 대화차례 안에서 발생하는 대화행위들의 연쇄와 각각의 대화차례 사이에서 발생하는 대화행위 연쇄를 조사했다. 여기서 분석대상으로 삼은 전사자료가 다른 연구에서 제시된 전사 자료와는 다소 차이를 보였기 때문에, 본 연구에서는 연쇄 개념을 대화차례사이에 뿐만 아니라 하나의 대화차례 내부까지 적용시켰다. 그리고 대화행위들간의 연쇄관계를 조사함으로써‘일정협의 대화’의 대화 흐름 도를 도출하였다. 이 대화 흐름 도는 통계분석 절차를 통해 가장 빈도수가 높게나온 대화행위 연쇄들을 토대로 만들어진 모형이기 때문에, 일상적인‘일정협의 대화’에 대한 대표성을 갖는다고 볼 수 있다.

Previous research has shown that the use of self-disclosure, the process of revealing personal thoughts and feelings, in conversational agents (CAs) increases overall user evaluations. However, research exploring the effects of self-disclosure in different situations or dialogue types is limited. This study investigated the effects of self-disclosure and dialogue type (task- vs. social-oriented) on trust, usefulness, and usage intention. Results showed significant interaction effects between self-disclosure and dialogue type. For CAs that did not use self-disclosure, trust, usefulness, and usage intention were higher in task-oriented dialogues. In contrast, CAs that did use self-disclosure had higher trust, usefulness, and usage intention in social-oriented dialogues. These results suggest that researchers and designers should consider the specific dialogue types and corresponding user goals when adding human qualities, such as self-disclosure, to CAs.

본 연구의 목적은 공동생성적 대화가 인식론적 측면에서 학습자의 과학 모델에 관한 이해와, 실행 과정의 측면에서 모델 구성에 미치는 영향을 살펴보는 것이다. 서울 소재 여자중학교 1학년 49명의 학생들에게 총 5차시 모델 구성 수업을 실시한 후 공동생성적 대화에 참여한 2개 조(8명)의 학생들과 참여하지 않은 2개 조(9명)의 학생들의 모델에 관한 이해와 모델 구성을 비교하였다. 모델에 관한 이해는 Upmeier zu Belzen and $Kr{\ddot{u}ger$ (2010)의 분석틀을 사용하였고, 모델 구성 과정은 Baek et al. (2011)의 분석틀을 수정 및 보완하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 전반적으로 공동생성적 대화에 참여한 학생들은 그렇지 않은 학생보다 과학적 모델에 관한 이해와 모델 구성 수준이 높게 나타났다. 공동생성적 대화에 참여한 조의 학생들은 모델을 새로운 현상을 설명할 수 있는 가설로 인식하였지만, 참여하지 않은 조의 학생들은 모델을 현상을 이해하는 수단으로 인식하였다. 본 연구는 학생들의 모델 구성 과정을 측정하는 분석틀을 마련하여 학교 현장에 유용하게 사용할 수 있게 하였다. 또한 새로운 학습 방법으로써 공동생성적 대화를 모델 구성 수업에 적용했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop evaluation criteria for conversations about medication and to demonstrate conversational analysis with actual dialogues on medication as examples. Methods: This study was a secondary analysis of qualitative research using conversational analysis which showed functional phases and patterns of dialogue about medication (greeting, identifying the patient, medicating, finishing). Nurse-patient conversations were videotaped and transcribed and 75 conversations were used for analysis. Results: Not all functional phases were showed in the conversations about medication. Therefore, conversations about medication can be considered as incomplete dialogues. The evaluation-criteria were represented in terms of the structure and content of the dialogues. Structural evaluation-criteria were the same as the functional phases, as functional stage is the standard for evaluation. The criteria of evaluation for content suggested 3 domains, content, expression, and interaction with 20 items scored on a Likert-type scale of 5-points. Finally, analysis of actual conversations about medication according to the evaluative criteria were provided. Conclusion: The results provide the basic data to develop educational programs and strategies to improve nurses’ competency in conversation about medication.

Conducted within the methodological framework of action research, this study examines the ways in which a beginning science teacher in a Korean elementary classroom engaged in collaborative research with her own students to resolve problems preventing effective science teaching and learning. Specifically, this study uses cogenerative dialogue between teachers and students to develop new teachers' knowledge of how to manage the classroom to be able to more effectively implement inquiry instructional strategies and knowledge of students as learners. Findings from this research suggest that by involving students in cogenerative dialogues, beginning teachers are provided with valuable insights into how elementary students think about school, science, and teaching and learning, which can help expand a beginning teacher's capacity to be an effective science teacher of science for all learners, especially diverse learners. These findings suggest that teacher education programs could better support beginning teachers by placing greater emphasis on how to conduct action research, including how to implement cogenerative dialogues to catalyze positive changes in their own classrooms. We conclude by discussing the important implications this research has for supporting new teachers struggle to effectively teach science and who would benefit from using strategies to foster improved relationships with their students and improved understanding about the challenges faced by diverse learners in their classroom.

This paper presents a dialogue interface using the dialogue management system as a method for controlling home appliances in Home Network Services. In order to realize this type of dialogue interface, we first investigated the user requirements for Home Network Services by analyzing the dialogues entered by users. Based on the analysis, we were able to extract 15 user intentions and 22 semantic components. In our study, example dialogues were collected from WOZ (Wizard-of-OZ) environment to implement a reasoning model for generating meaningful responses for example-based dialogue modeling technique. An overview of the Home Network Control System using proposed dialogue interface will be presented. Lastly, we will show that the Dialogue Management System trained with our collected dialogues behaves properly to achieve its task of controlling Home Network appliances by going through the steps of natural language understanding, response reasoning, response generation.

This research aimed for revealing social interaction-based environmental learning elements at the natural history museum. First, we carried out a survey of the perceptual change about 'the environment' concept. It was for confirming whether environmental learning occurred in visiting. Second, we found environmental learning elements through analyzing dialogues among small group members during looking around the museum. Social interaction-based environmental learning elements were classified into five; knowledge, affection, value, skill, behaviour. Each environmental learning element included several sub-elements, so we revealed totally 9 environmental learning sub-elements. By results, we said characteristics and possibility of the natural history museum as an informal environmental educational institution. It is meaningful for extending areas of environmental education.

본 논문에서는 수학 학습에서 의사소통 방법 중의 하나인 대화법에 초점을 두어, 먼저 소크라테스의 교육철학을 살펴보고, 수학적 의사소통의 효시라 일컬어지는 소크라테스의 대화법과 고대에서 현대까지 교사와 학생사이의 대화 형태로 존재하는 다양한 수학적 의사소통의 예를 살펴본다.
