  • S. Turner has shown that a Neron symbol can be calculated from the values of K-meromorphic theta functions corresponding to divisors on K-holomorphic torus of strongly diagonal type. Using an isogeny to a K-holomorphic torus of strongly diagonal type, he constructed a Neron symbol on K-holomorphic torus of diagonal type. In this work, we provide a simple formula of the Neron symbol on the Tate curve. And then we construct the Neron symbol on K-holomorphic torus of diagonal or st rongly diagonal type without using isogenies.

  • We explore the Pauli table C(-1) and nonzero Pauli table W. Recurrence rules and interrelationships of any k slope diagonal sums over C(-1) and W are studied in connection with diagonal sums of the Pascal table C(1). Since diagonal sums of C(1) are Fibonacci numbers, any k slope diagonal sums over C(-1) and W are explained by Fibonacci numbers.

  • Use of nuclear energy inevitably brings the problem of radioactive waste disposal. Repositories for disposing radioactive waste use underground space that is unconnected with the outside and the diagonal system, which allows the waste to be deposited. Ventilation if necessary because high-level radioactive waste generates heat. In this study, the air velocity through diagonal branches with regulators of different sizes and in different locations, was measured. The air velocity is determined by the size of the first and last regulators, regardless of the size of other regulators. In the diagonal system. Consequently, once the desired total airflow rate has been achieved by installing the appropriate first and last regulators, the other regulators fan be evenly installed to maintain the minimum air velocity needed.

  • Structural health monitoring of steel truss bridge based on changes in modal properties was investigated in this study. Vibration measurements with five sensors were conducted at an existing Warren truss bridge with partial fractures in diagonal members before and after an emergency repair work. Modal properties identified by the Eigensystem Realization Algorithm showed evidences of increases in modal damping due to the damage in diagonal member. In order to understand the dynamic behavior of the bridge and possible mechanism of those increases in modal damping, theoretical modal analysis was conducted with three dimensional frame models. It was found that vibrations of the main truss could be coupled internally with local vibrations of diagonal members and the degree of coupling could change with structural changes in diagonal members. Additional vibration measurements with fifteen sensors were then conducted so as to understand the consistency of those theoretical findings with the actual dynamic behavior. Modal properties experimentally identified showed that the damping change caused by the damage in diagonal member described above could have occurred in a diagonal-coupled mode. The results in this study imply that damages in diagonal members could be detected from changes in modal damping of diagonal-coupled modes.

  • Purpose: The present study investigated how variations in diagonal exercises affect shoulder muscle activity, examining changes in neuromuscular activation during scapular and shoulder diagonal patterns of exercises. Furthermore, we explored whether the exercise phase affects muscle activation. Methods: Sixteen asymptomatic male participants were recruited. Four diagonal pattern exercises (scapular anterior elevation, posterior elevation, flexion-adduction-external rotation, flexion, abduction-external rotation), and two exercise phases (concentric and eccentric) were administered. Surface electromyography data were collected. Results: Upper trapezius activity was significantly higher during the concentric phase of scapular posterior elevation exercises compared with the others (p<0.05). The serratus anterior, anterior deltoid, and infraspinatus activities were significantly higher during shoulder diagonal pattern exercises compared with the scapular diagonal pattern exercises (p<0.05). Except for the lower trapezius, muscular activities during the concentric phase were significantly greater compared with the eccentric phase (p<0.05). Conclusion: The current study suggests that the diagonal pattern of exercise may contribute to selective strengthening of the shoulder complex muscles and that the form of exercise should be tailored to the subject. It also suggests that diagonal exercises with concentric contractions tend to be more beneficial than eccentric contractions for overall muscle recruitment, but the effects vary for specific diagonal patterns.

  • This paper introduces an approach of method to compensate accuracy error of diagonal direction. The measurement of squareness error is an important parameter in performance test of two axis Linear Motor and this exerts influence on accuracy error of diagonal test. However, previous knowledge management approaches are limited in deviation measurement of optical axis or restrictive elements of diagonal measurements using laser interferometer. But this proposed method calculated diagonal accuracy error which was occurred by squareness error and compensated squareness error using orthogonal correction method of PMAC. From this result, diagonal accuracy error is significantly reduced. This experimental results show that geometric error of squareness error is easily corrected by dynamic coordinate correction.

  • This paper describes an exact method of analysis for natural vibration of diagonal networks by considering an equivalent cyclic periodic structure and adopting the double U-transformation technique. Both a lumped mass system and a distributed mass system are considered to investigate the diagonal networks. The exact solution for the frequency equations and the natural modes of the networks can be derived. As numerical examples, square diagonal cable networks with different meshes are worked out.

  • In this study, diagonal ventilation circuits that are advantageous in air flow direction control were studied. Based on the results of the study, it could be seen that air volumes in diagonal ventilation circuits could also be calculated using numerical formulas or programs if the air volumes and air flow directions to be infused into diagonal branches are determined in advance as with other serial/parallel circuits. To apply the results, design plans for high level radioactive waste repositories applied with diagonal ventilation circuits and parallel ventilation circuits. To compared the each design plans and obtain expected operation results, ventilation network simulations were conducted through the Ventsim program which is a ventilation networking program. Based on the results, in the case of diagonal repositories that was expected to cause great increases in resistance, fan pressure was 1570 pa, total flux was 84 $m^3/s$, fan efficiency was 76.4%, fan power consumption was 181.2 kW and annual fan operating costs were 178,710,838 and thus maximum around 8% differences were shown in pressure and flux values and a difference of around 1.5% was shown in terms of operating costs.

  • Purpose: The present study aims to investigate the effects of a diagonal exercise pattern on selective activation of the upper extremity muscles using both normalization and isolation methods. Methods: In total, 17 asymptomatic subjects participated in this study. During the two diagonal patterns of exercise (diagonals 1 and 2), muscular activities of the upper trapezius (UT), lower trapezius (LT), serratus anterior (SA), anterior deltoid (AD), and infraspinatus (IS) were measured. The collected data were analyzed in two ways, according to the dominance of muscle activities (%Isolation) and according to normalized activities (%MVIC). Results: There were significant differences in LT, SA, AD, and IS between %MVIC and %Isolation (p<0.05), and the diagonal 1 pattern of exercise showed significantly more LT activities compared with the diagonal 2 pattern (p<0.05). Further, except for LT, there were no significant differences in muscle activities between the diagonal 1 and 2 exercises. Conclusion: The present study suggests that a diagonal pattern of exercise is advantageous for strengthening shoulder muscles, but caution is needed when applying to patients requiring selective strengthening. Regarding both the concentric and eccentric phases of exercise, there was no significant difference in muscular activation, except in LT, between the two diagonal patterns of exercises.
