  • Objective and Background : Attempt to express knowledge by IT is the current of the times, knowledge of the oriental medicine have to meet the needs of the times. It takes 'classification system of the oriental medicine terms' and 'system of the predicate' for explaining the relation between concepts to express knowledge by IT technique. Researches for 'classification system of the oriental medicine terms' are in progress already, researches for 'system of the predicate' are insufficient. Subject of study : We proceeded to study of the predicate in Idongwon(李東垣)'s "Biwiron(脾胃論)" has clear theory system and considerable influence upon knowledge of the oriental medicine for studying 'system of the predicate' which expresses knowledge of the oriental medicine in early stage. Method : Acquire Chinese play a predicate part in "Biwiron(脾胃論)", translate the Chinese to answer the context, group the similar predicate, decide representative predicate of group. And attempt to make classification system of the representative predicate with Term management system based on SQL Server 2005. Results and Considerations : I classify the predicate which predicate diagnosis, treatment, symptoms and knowledge of the oriental medicine into existence, condition, cognition and will. This classification seems to be useful to explain factors which have an effect on demonstration and treatment.

  • A Typification of diagnosis and treatment(DT) model must be done in order to generalize the objective stage to the result of treatment to internal disease in connection with the type of viscera and bowel symptom. We could find 108 DT models in internal disease from the combination of 18 types of viscera and bowel and 6 types of DT treatment processes. Thus, the typification of 108 models of DT can be viewed as a modeling processes of utilizing DT knowledge at each stage. We argue that objectivity in diagnosis and treatment of internal disease can be obtained practically from typification of DT model.

  • Objectives: In order to confirm a remedial effect and related influence of the clinic treatment by prescribing herb medicines to hypertensives experiencing angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor dosage and suffering from common side effect generally known as dry cough. Methods: 1. We selected the 19 patients who visited National Oriental Medical Center, from August 21, 2007 to August 16, 2008 and suffering from dry cough caused by taking ACE inhibitor, with no other possible diseases causing dry cough. 2. We separated the 19 patients into two groups (Type 1: Bi-Qi hie (脾氣虛) group prescribed Samchuljojung-tang & Type 2: Qi-hie dam-wul (氣虛痰鬱) group prescribed Samsoumgamibang). 3. We then observed the symptom level and post-treatment effect, and recorded changes of dry cough intensity level for each group. Results: 1. Type 1: In the survey of 12 patients, initial level recorded 16.33 at entry diagnosis, and next level meant changing of symptoms, recorded as 2.75 at Stage 1 and reaching 3.33 at Stage 2. 2. Type 2: 7 patients, with initial level recorded as 18.71 at entry diagnosis, and 1.86 at Stage 1 and reaching to 3.29 at Stage 2. 3. No additional prescriptions were issued at Stage 2 or afterwards, and final result indicates that the mean value ended at 3.95 in the total group. Conclusions: It is concluded that there is a significant remedial effect and related influence of the clinic treatment between the Oriental medicine treatment and one of the common side effects of ACE inhibitor, dry cough.

  • Objectives : This study investigated oriental diagnosis and treatment of reflex esophagitis (RE) such as syndrome differentiation and herbal medicine by reviewing Chinese journals. Methods : A journal search was performed using China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) from January 2006 to December 2010. The keywords were the various combinations of 'reflex esophagitis', 'Chinese medicine', 'syndrome differentiation', and 'herbal medicine'. All types of journal entries that explained or referred to herbal medicines and definite syndrome differentiations were included. The Types of the journals were randomized clinical trials (RCT), reviews, essays, case series and reports. Vague syndrome differentiations and experimental studies were excluded. Selected journals were extracted and summarized by two researchers independently. Results : 47 Chinese entries were finally selected. 61% of them were case-control trials that had non-randomized, active controlled clinical trials. 36 kinds of syndrome differentiations about RE were investigated. We summarized and divided them into 10 syndrome differentiation groups. 肝胃不和(syndrome of liver qi invading the stomach) in syndrome differentiation, 和胃降逆 (harmonize the stomach and direct qi downward) in method of treatment, and Jwa kum-whan (左金丸) were cited with high frequency in RE. Conclusions : We find that many kinds of syndrome differentiation groups and herbal medicines for reflex esophagitis are used in China, compared with Korea. Further studies will be required about oriental syndrome differentiation and treatment of this disease.

This article was undertaken to evaluate the enuretic child exactly and to study nocturnal enuresis systematically. Methods : It was conducted a computerized literature search in following database: Medline (via Pubmed), NDSL, EBSCO. Korean articles via oriental pediatric association homepage, KISS. Key words to search were 'nocturnal enuresis', 'bedwetting', 'enuresis', 'incontinence', 'management', 'evaluation', 'assessment', 'questionnaire', 'guideline', 'voiding dysfunction'. Results : Questions are grouped in eight categories: primary history(sex, age, height, weight), family history, enuresis history(primary/secondary, frequency, time of enuresis, nocturia), voiding history(average number, frequency, pattern, volume, posture, daytime enuresis), medical history, constipation/encopresis, sleep(OSA). Conclusion : A careful, complete history taking will help to plan treatment properly and to study.

HGB. MCV, Platelet. ESR with following up CBC test ten times Finally, WBC increased by 900, RBC increased by 400000, MCV was reduced by 7fl. HGB increased by 1.3g/dl. Hct increased by 3.2%, ESR was reduced from 127 to 35mm/h. We diagnosed myelodysplastic syndrome as 'CONSUMPTIVE DISEASE' in oreintal medicine.
