In this paper, we introduce the PB/MC-CDMA (Partial Block/Multi-Carrier-Code Division Multiple Access) system to mitigate inter-cell interference (ICI) and enhance user capacity in the small cell environment. In 5G mobile communications, the number of devices connected to the network is expected to increase exponentially with the expansion of the IoT (Internet of Things) services. In addition, each device is expected to be required by the various data rates by their content types. In LTE/LTE-A, there are some limitations that large scale connectivity and supporting various data rates. Therefore, we introduce a PB/MC-CDMA physical layer system which is suitable for the small cell environment, and evaluate the performance in the multi cell environment which is affected by ICI. Through computer simulation results, we demonstrate the effectiveness of PB/MC-CDMA for the small cell environment.

High speed computer, large scale storage device and high speed computer network are computing infrastructure which we can easily access to in these days. However, many computer simulations in natural or applied science such as molecular simulation require more computing power as well as larger scale of storage. Grid computing which is a next generation of distributed computing environment, is one of solution for the new requirements. Even though many researches have been going on Grid computing, those are oriented to communication interface and protocols, and middleware like globus tool kits[2, 3]. Therefore research on application level platform or application itself is yet premature and it makes real users be difficult to utilize Grid system for their research. In this paper, we suggest a new user environment and an abstract job model for simulation experiments on MGrid(Molecular Simulation Grid). It will make users be able to utilize Grid resources efficiently and reliably.
The typical evacuation guidance system based on fire detectors, which is being widely used in theaters and large buildings, is often operated in an analog manner. In case of fire, it often causes the system to lose a wired line or wireless fire detection sensor, resulting in the difficulty of transmitting signals from a wired or wireless fire detection sensor to the main fire monitoring device. Accordingly, this paper has proposed the broadcasting system for disaster management, having an efficient evacuation guidance plan when a disaster occurs. The system reacts to an emergency situation along with fire alarm sirens in real time. We have implemented the above system by means of a simulation program that prints the evacuation guidance information (e.g., location and time of fire, and evacuation path) on an LCD located in a building through the fire sensor network in case of an emergency (e.g., actual fire). We have developed the simulation system by using mathematical algorithms, such as the optimal path search and the fire smoke diffusion algorithm. This simulation program considers the structure of a building and the location where the fire has initially occurred, applying it to the simulator.

Wireless Self-Powered Temperature Sensor for UHF Sensor Tags which are basic device for construction of ubiquitous sensor network is proposed. The key parameters of the target specification are resolution of $0.1\;^{\circ}C$ per output bit, below 1.5 V of operating voltage and below 5 uW of power consumption during sensing operation. Temperature sensor circuit consists of PTAT current generator, band gap reference circuit generating both reference voltage and current, Sigma-Delta Converter, and Digital Counter. Simulated maximum resolution was $0.23\;^{\circ}C/bit$ in 11-bit output. The proposed temperature sensor was fabricated by using a 0.25 m CMOS process. The chip area is $0.32\;{\times}\;0.22\;mm$ and the operating frequency is 2 MHz. Measured resolution from fabricated temperature sensor was $4\;^{\circ}C/bit$ in 8-bit output for the temperature range from $10^{\circ}C$ to $80^{\circ}C$.
Digital TV is expected to usher in a new era of TV. Thanks to digital and network technologies, TV will no more be a dumb terminal as it is today. It will incorprate the computer and thus become an intelligent device which serves not only high quality broadcast programming, but a variety of information services much like the current networked-computer. However, the real world picture of digital TV is clearly different from such a rosy vision. Albeit too early to tell, the cases in Europe and the US attest that the digital transition suffers a setback in terms of technology, policy, business, marketing, and the users. As such, the digital transition is generally problematized in terms of policy, business model, marketing strategy, and so on. Comparatively speaking, the issues of technology, policy, business and marketing are not so complicated than that of digital TV users because of the cultural issues involved in the adoption of digital TV. In other words, the technological transition to digital TV is far easier than its cultural transition. The cultural transition demands policy makers and industries of different approaches to successfully facilitating the digital transition.
Background: Radiation is used in a variety of areas, but it also poses potential risks. Although radiation is often used with great effectiveness in many applications, people perceive potential risks associated with radiation and feel anxious about the possibility of radiation exposure. Various methods of measuring radiation doses have been developed, but there is no way for the general public to measure their doses with ease. Currently, many people use smartphones, which provide information about the location of an individual phone through network connections. If a smartphone application could be developed for measuring radiation dosage, it would be a very effective way to measure individuals' radiation doses. Thus, we conducted a survey study to assess the social acceptance of such a technology by the general public and their intent to use that technology to measure radiation doses, as well as to investigate whether such an intention is correlated with anxiety and attitudes toward the use of radiation. Materials and Methods: A nationwide online survey was conducted among 355 Koreans who were 20 years old or older. Results and Discussion: Significant differences were found between the genders in attitudes, perceptions of radiation risk, and fears of exposure to radiation. However, a significant difference according to age was observed only in the intent to use a smartphone dose measurement application. Attitudes towards the use of radiation exerted a negative effect on radiation risk perception and exposure anxiety, whereas attitudes towards the use of radiation, risk perception, and anxiety about exposure were found to have a positive impact on the intent to use a smartphone application for dose measurements. Conclusion: A survey-based study was conducted to investigate how the general public perceives radiation and to examine the acceptability of a smartphone application as a personal dose monitoring device. If such an application is developed, it could be used not only to monitor an individual's dose, but also to contribute to radiation safety information infrastructure by mapping radiation in different areas, which could be utilized as a useful basis for radiation research.
In this paper, we propose a system that recommends music through tempo-oriented music classification and sensor-based human activity recognition. The proposed method indexes music files using tempo-oriented music classification and recommends suitable music according to the recognized user's activity. For accurate music classification, a dynamic classification based on a modulation spectrum and a sequence classification based on a Mel-spectrogram are used in combination. In addition, simple accelerometer and gyroscope sensor data of the smartphone are applied to deep spiking neural networks to improve activity recognition performance. Finally, music recommendation is performed through a mapping table considering the relationship between the recognized activity and the indexed music file. The experimental results show that the proposed system is suitable for use in any practical mobile device with a music player.

Although yttrium iron garnet (YIG) has provided a great vehicle for the study of spin waves in the past, associated difficulties in film deposition and device fabrication using YIG had limited the applicability of spin waves to practical devices. However, microfabrication techniques have made it possible to characterize both the resonant as well as the travelling characteristics of spin waves in permalloy (Py). A variety of methods have been used for measuring spin waves, including Brillouin light scattering (BLS), magneto-optic Kerr effect (MOKE), vector network analyzer ferromagnetic resonance (VNA-FMR), and pulse inductive microwave magnetometry (PIMM). PIMM is one of the most preferred methodologies of measuring travelling spin waves. In this method, an electrical impulse is applied at one of two coplanar waveguides patterned on top of oxide-insulated Py, producing a local disturbance in the magnetization of the Py. The resulting disturbance travels down the Py in the form of waves, and is inductively picked up by the other coplanar waveguide. We investigate the effect of the pulse width of excitation pulses on the generated spin wave packets using both experimental results and micromagnetic simulations. We show that spin wave packets generated from electrical pulses are a superposition of two separate spin wave packets, one generated from the rising edge and the other from the falling edge, which interfere either constructively or destructively with one another, depending upon the magnitude and direction of the field bias conditions. A method of spin wave amplitude modulation is also presented by the linear superposition of spin waves. We use interfering spin waves resulting from two closely spaced voltage impulses for the modulation of the magnitude of the resultant spin wave packets.
In the case of the existing train control system, the driver monitors the condition of the vehicle through a composite controller device that displays various information on a screen in the vehicle. However, when problems arise such as car trouble, it is difficult for the drivers to take action immediately. In addition, maintenance personnel have to manually save data one by one after storing the vehicle to analyze control information of the main devices such as the brake controller and auxiliary power. To improve these points, a system that sends and receives all information in real time should be established by installing a sensor communication network and a surveillance system. This study attempts to improve the safety and maintenance of rail vehicles by suggesting a standardized method for train control and surveillance system.

In this paper, I proposed new system that a user makes modeling 3D symmetric pottery using mouse and can confirm the result immediately in internet browser. The main advantage of proposed system is that users who have no specialized knowledge about 3D graphic can easily create 3D objects. And a user can use it that has only PC connected network and mouse without additional devices as like expensive haptic and camera device. For developing proposed system, VRML/X3D that is International Standard language for virtual reality and 3D graphics was used. Because it was born based on internet that is different from other 3D graphic languages, it was able to interact and navigate with users. With those features and high completeness of 3D pottery realization using mouse considered, the system may be useful and is superior in performance to other pottery modeling system.
