  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the clinical decision making (CDM) development process throughout the comparison between novice and expert physical therapist as well as develop a CDM model for physical therapists under the fee-for-service (FFS) and physicians' prescriptions. Methods: Purposive sampling techniques were used to select 10 clinical physical therapists paired into five groups (each pair consisted of 1 novice and 1 expert physical therapist). The coding schemes were extracted from interviews and through within- and across-case analyses, cases were summarized. The reliability of coding schemes was confirmed by checking of case summaries by the participants. Results: Novice and expert physical therapists were influenced by two themes, internalized theme and external forces or information. Novice clinicians depended more on external forces or information. Although clinicians should care patients under the FFS and physician's prescription, expert clinicians were more likely to rely on internalized knowledge. Conclusion: The findings of the present study may be used by educators or association officials enhance CDM abilities and knowledge pools of student or novices as well as develop a guide to suitable novices or students under the specific context limiting the development of their CDM.

Methods Literature records and previous studies on traditional medicine of both countries were collected through various sites in Mongolia (Esan, Mongoliajol, Kok, Yumpu, Scribd, Science and Technology Foundation [STF]) and Korea (Koreanstudies Information Service System [KISS], Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information [KISTI], National Digital Science Library [NDSL], Research Information Sharing Service [RISS], Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System [OASIS]). Also the English database was searched through PubMed. In the case of Mongolian traditional medicine, medical books published in Mongolia were mainly referenced and used for research. Results Studying the development process, basic concepts and the system of diagnosis and treatment of the two traditional medicine, several commonalities and differences were revealed. Conclusions This study showed that the scope of diagnosis methods between Mongolian and Korean traditional medicine were slightly different, and that the medical terminology for the diagnosis method had slightly different contents from each other. Although there were many similarities in treatments of Mongolian and Korean traditional medicine, the Chuna therapy is found in Korean traditional medicine only. The basic theories constituting traditional medicine were the same, but the five-element theory used by the two countries differs in the following two factors. Mongolia uses elements of air and space as the theory of five elements, while Korea uses elements of wood and iron.

  • Objectives: This study described the features of home-bound industrial accident victims and their needs for rehabilitation services. This study was also aimed to find a future direction of development of community rehabilitation programs that are suitable for their needs demands. Methods: This study is a descriptive study, were collected through two phases using structured questionnaire. In the first stage, su were performed via telephone interviews. In the se stage, surveys were performed via home visit Subjects in the first stage included 2203 indu injured victims staying at home, of whom. individuals complaining of post-traumatic complic became the subjects of the second stage. Results: This study showed that the home-bound industrial accident patients were complaining of complications from the injury even after receiving treatment by IACI. However, they were neglecting their health problems without any intervention. Even if they use health care services. the treatment is mainly focused on acute medical care, which may not effective for them. Furthermore, they had unstable employment status and suffered from financial burden for health care costs. The Labor Welfare Organization has established a plan to remove barriers of industrial accident victims in reinstatement, and has been preparing various programs in order to establish an all-embracing service system for industrial accident victims from accident occurrence to reinstatement. However, these rehabilitation services can be truly helpful only when the injured are able to obtain enough information about them. The current restrictive system is also not appropriate for solving health problems of the industrial accident victims. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a plan that can provide industrial accident victims high-quality rehabilitation services so that they can use those services in the community without being dependent on hospitals. This study proposes visit nursing services as a way to provide various health services within community for the industrial accident victims.

  • The primary goal of the study is to examine the possibility of applying the time series model to forecasting demand and supply of social services. In the study, we used survey data based on a nationally represented sample which is secondary processed data. We selected developmental rehabilitation service. The analysis, we made models of a demand and a supply using time series analysis. Utilizing the estimates, we identified each model's pattern. This study provides an empirical evidence to suggest benefits of using the time series model for forecasting the demand and the supply pattern of newly introduced social services. We also provide discussions on policy implications of utilizing demand and supply time series models in the process of developing new social services.

  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate parental perspectives on cognitive rehabilitation using a combination of phenomenological research methodology and word cloud analysis. Methods : Interviews were conducted with five parents of children with developmental disabilities. Word cloud analysis was conducted using Python, and five researchers analyzed the meaning units and themes using phenomenological methods. Words with high frequency were considered as a heuristic tool. Results : A total of 43 meaning units and nine components related to the phenomenon of cognitive rehabilitation were derived, and three themes were finalized. The main themes encompassed the definition of cognitive rehabilitation, challenges associated with cognitive rehabilitation, and factors influencing the selection of a cognitive rehabilitation institute. Cognitive rehabilitation emerged as a treatment focused on improving learning, daily functioning, and cognitive abilities in children with developmental disabilities. The perceived issues with cognitive rehabilitation pertained to treatment methods, therapist expertise, and associated costs. In addition, parents highlighted the importance of therapist expertise, humane personality, and affordability of cost and schedule when choosing a cognitive rehabilitation institute. Conclusion : Parents expressed expectations for substantial improvements in their children's daily functioning through cognitive rehabilitation. However, challenges were identified in clinical practices. Going forward, we expect that cognitive rehabilitation will evolve into a better therapeutic support service addressing the concerns raised by parents.

  • This paper explores strategies to enhance internal customer orientation from the perspectives of both disabled clients and people without disabilities (social workers) within vocational rehabilitation facilities. It proposes efficient operational strategies for these facilities through a literature review on the relationship between internal customer orientation and performance. In this process, it examines how satisfying internal customer needs and focusing on job satisfaction in service provision impacts the overall economic and social performance of the organization. The study also identifies practical strategies that can help vocational rehabilitation facilities overcome challenges and achieve sustainable development.

  • In this study, three knee-orthoses (dial lock type, medium size, right side) were used for a quality level test (static bending test and solidity test of the locking system) of the knee-orthosis locking system. In the static bending test, a smaller maximum load was observed in samples A and C compared to the reference standard value (KS P 8408 standard value: 1000 N, sample A: 865 N, sample C: 833 N). In addition, in the solidity test of the locking system, a smaller maximum load was observed in the all samples compared to the referenced standard value (KS P 8411 standard value: 200 N, sample A: 41 N, sample B: 97 N, sample C: 54 N). Korean industrial standards for knee-orthoses and systematic test methods are lacking. Therefore, a systematic management plan for knee-orthoses is required. The result of the current study showed that a systematic management plan for the knee-orthosis locking system is required. In particular, the development of a quantitative and objective test method is needed. The findings of the current study may be useful for monitoring the quality of the knee-orthosis locking system and may provide foundational information for the development of a quantitative and objective test method.
