This paper attempts to portray the issues of intellectual freedom that confront librarians in developing collections in libraries. It is observed that the issue has hardly been drawn attention in Korea while, from various cases, concerns about intellectual freedom have been increased in many countries. Situated in this observation, this paper surveys various aspects of endeavors to protect intellectual freedom in information service settings. It is also stressed how such issues as free access to information, freedom to know, information barriers in public sectors, and freedom of expression are addressed in library world. Emphasis was also put on the meaning of intellectual freedom as viewed through some policy documents and guidelines in other countries and its implications.

Scientific and technical development, as well as the emergence of new types of contracts, which do not have their expression in current legislation, force us to explore the issues of contract law to adapt to change. In this context, the principle of freedom of contract is fundamental, which states that each person has the right to enter into a contractual relationship at his discretion. However, such freedom is not absolute, because the freedom of one person should not violate the freedom of another. Together with the conflict of private and public interests, these phenomena are a field for the study of topical issues of theory and application of the principle of freedom of contract in practice. Research methods are philosophical, general scientific, and special scientific methods, in particular, system-structural, formal-legal, hermeneutic; methods of analysis, synthesis, etc. As a result of the research, the main characteristics of the principle of freedom of contract, its role for private law regulation of contract law are given; approaches to understanding the restriction of contract freedom are analyzed; typical examples and means of such restrictions are identified; demonstrated how contract freedom is embodied in the use of IT tools, which types of contracts are most common in the digital environment.

Purpose - This study is to investigate the direct and moderating effect of intangible variable like economic freedom to facilitating factors on FDI(foreign direct investment) inflows and the difference of facilitating factors by the stage of economic development. Design/methodology/approach - Fixed-effect panel regression analysis with 19-year macro economic data from 2000 to 2019 including economic freedom index from Fraser Institute in 13 developed and 15 developing countries was used. Research implications or Originality - In analysis of direct effect of 5 sectors in economic freedom, the influence of economic freedom was shown weaker than other macro economic factors on FDI inflows, which indicates that actual development of economic factors are more important. The effect of economic freedom on FDI inflows at the stage of economic development differed. In developed countries, human capital, GDP, export, free trade and regulation affected FDI inflows in decreasing order, as did human capital, GDP, consumption expenditure, export, investment expenditure, government expenditure, free trade and sound money in developing countries. In analysis of moderating effect of economic freedom, a domestic and international market size, a flexible labor market which can provide a cheaper good human resources and government expenditures for improving social infrastructure under free economic environment facilitated FDI inflows. However, the statistical significance of moderating effect on export was not shown, which indicates that economic freedom policy itself without actual improvement of exports could not attract FDI inflows.

This paper investigates how economic freedom affected firm investment in Vietnam. In the globalization decade, economic freedom has been an important policy to support economic development in Vietnam. Improvements in economic freedom, such as capital freedom and domestic credit freedom, allow firms to access external finance more easily, so that the firm's investment depends less on internal cash flow. In a developing country, on the drawbacks, many small and medium firms likely have more challenges if the government would not give any subsidies. The higher level of freedom may exacerbate the financing constraints of less competitive firms. We analyze unique firm-level data from 2006 to 2016, which includes listed firms on two major stock exchanges and unlisted firms in the Unlisted Public Company Market. The article also considers how economic freedom affects small firms and large firms differently. Our results show that capital freedom and domestic credit freedom played an important role in investments for Vietnamese firms. However, we cannot find evidence that overall economic freedom relaxed the financial constraints on firms. Additionally, we suggest that small firms likely gain more advantage in access to external finance than do larger firms when the government removes restrictions from capital movement and the domestic credit market.

In this study, an improved 8-node flat shell element is presented for the analysis of shell structure, by combining 8-node membrane element with drilling degree-of-freedom and 8-node plate bending element based on the recently presented technique. Firstly, 8-node membrane element designated as CLM8 is presented in this paper. The element has drilling degree-of.freedom in addition to transitional degree-of-freedom. Therefore the element possesses 3 degrees-of-freedom per each node which as well as the improvement of the element behavior, permits an easy connection to other element with rotational degree-of -freedom. Secondly. 8-node flat shell element was composed by adding 8-node Mindlin plate bending element to the membrane element. The behavior of the introduced plate bending element is further improved by combined use of nonconforming displacement modes, selectively reduced integration scheme and assumed shear strain fields. The element passes in the patch test, doesn't show spurious mechanism and doesn't produce shear locking phenomena. Finally, Numerical examples are presented to show the performance of flat shell element developed in the present study.

The most important thing for driver's safety on the road is equipment of crash cushion as a vehicle protection safety facility. But development of crash cushion is defective because there's no rational and reality way of design. And also without an alternative plan, it rely on crash test hereby it suffers a great economic loss and wastes time. This study that uses data of cash test proves the suitability of single degree of freedom which considers the safety of passengers about three-dimensional complicated Crash Analysis. As the study analyzes the conduct of crash cushion, it want to develop the effective method of design on Single Degree of Freedom Crash Cushion. And it presents the way of crash cushion design through making a crash analysis model with single degree of freedom. To verify the validness of the crash cushion plan, with single degree of freedom plan, we make the level CC2 crash cushion and execute the crash test. A performance test brings satisfied result and a plan of single degree of freedom crash cushion is proven as an one of the way to be a good system which can design crash cushion.

Two degrees of freedom resonant systems are employed to improve the resonant property of resonant sensor, as compared to a single degree of freedom resonant system. This paper presents design, development and testing of two degrees of freedom resonant sensor. To measure absolute mass, cantilever shaped two different masses (smaller/absorber mass and bigger/drive mass) with identical resonant frequency are mechanically linked to form 2 - Degree-of-Freedom (DOF) resonator which exhibits higher amplitude of displacement at the smaller mass. The same concept is extended for measuring differential quantity, by having two bigger mass and one smaller mass. The main features of this work are the 3 - DOF resonator for differential detection and the microcontroller based closed loop electronics for resonant sensor with piezoelectric sensing and excitation. The advantage of using microcontroller is that the method can be easily extended for any range of measurand.

We develop a new four-node flat shell element which is accurate, efficient, and suitable to be used on general purpose. The new element has a hybrid Trefftz element with drilling degrees of freedom as a membrane part. We define the two independent displacement field: the internal displacement field that satisfies governing equations in the domain a priori and the boundary displacement field that is usually used as a conventional finite element method. The hybrid Trefftz variational formulation connects these two displacement fields on the boundary of the domain. To add drilling degrees of freedom, we introduce the Allman's quadratic displacement field to the boundary displacement field. As a result, our flat shell element has 6 degrees of freedom per a node. We also use the well-known DKMQ plate bending element for the plate part of the proposed element. The DKMQ element satisfies Mindlin-Reissner‘s plate theory along the edge of the element and gives proper behavior regardless of the thickness. A series of numerical experiments shows that the performance of the new element such as accuracy, rate of convergence, robustness to mesh quality, and so on.

In many papers, the powertrain system generally has been madeled as one-dimensional torque model. One-dimensional powertrain model may calculate the torque correctly but it does not consider the non-rotational degrees-of-freedom of the powertrain components and the interaction of these degrees-of-freedom with the vehicle body frame and suspension. To consider the non-rotational degrees of freedom, the differential is modeled as a three-dimensional rigid body in this paper. A constant velocity joint is newly formulated and a relative constraint is also formulated to model the motion transfer due to gear ratio of the differential. Implementing the proposed powertrain system in the multibody model, more detail dynamic responses can be obtained. Obtained outputs such as reaction torques on the constant velocity joint and reaction forces on the rack can be useful data in the design of a powertrain.

This article inspected 16 game rating systems in the world to find out the trends of those. Mainly the perspective of freedom of expression is used to find out the implications of the trends. As the position of game becomes higher, the increase of game specialty rating institutions, the augmentation of self regulations rating institutions, the enlargement of freedom of expression in the area of game are revealed as trends. These trends are in the natural order of events that match with the development of game. We could know that rapid change and innovation is much needed.
