  • The damage detection method using the extended Kalman filter(EKF) technique has been continuously used since EKF can estimation the responses of the damaged building structure and the stiffness of the structure. However, in the use of EKF, the requirement of setting the initial paramters P, Q, and R has caused the divergence and instability of the state vector, and various researches have been conducted to determine theses parameters. In this paper, adaptive extended Kalman filter(AEKF) method is proposed to solve the problem of setting the values of P, Q, and R, which are important parameters determining the convergence performance of the EKF state vector. By using the AEKF method proposed in this study, the P, Q, and R parameters are updated every k steps. The proposed algorithm is applied for the estimation of stiffness and the damage detection of 3-DOF problem. Based of the verification, it can be found that the selection process for the values of P, Q, and R can improve the convergence performance of EKF.

  • Rapid industrialization with growing population leads to environmental water pollution. Demand in generation of clean water from waste water is ever increasing by scarcity of rain water due to change in weather pattern. Colorimetric detection of heavy metal present in clean water is very simple and effective technique. In this review membrane based colorimetric detection of mercury (II) ions are discussed in details. Membrane such as cellulose, polycaprolactone, chitosan, polysulfone etc., are used as support for metal ion detection. Nanofiber based materials have wide range of applications in energy, environment and biomedical research. Membranes made up of nanofiber consist up plenty of functional groups available in the polymer along with large surface area and high porosity. As a result, it is easy for surface modification and grafting of ligand on the fiber surface enhanced nanoparticles attachment.

  • Among non-invasive blood glucose detection technologies, the optical technique is a method that uses light reflection, absorption, and scattering characteristics when passing through a biological medium. It reduces pain or discomfort in measurement and has no risk of infection. So it is becoming a major flow of blood glucose detection research. Among them, near-infrared spectroscopy has a disadvantage in that the complexity increases when analyzing signals detected due to interferences between proteins and acids that share a similar absorption function with blood glucose molecules. In this study, a non-invasive sensor system with multiple near-infrared bands was designed and manufactured to alleviate the deterioration of blood glucose detection function that may occur due to skin absorption of near-infrared rays. A blood survey was conducted to verify the system, and the degree of blood glucose response in the blood was collected as spectral data, and the results of this study were quantitatively verified in terms of correlation between the data and blood glucose.

  • Although many studies have been conducted to identify unknown attacks in cyber security intrusion detection systems, studies based on outliers are attracting attention. Accordingly, we identify outliers by defining categories for unknown attacks. The unknown attacks were investigated in two categories: first, there are factors that generate variant attacks, and second, studies that classify them into new types. We have conducted outlier studies that can identify similar data, such as variants, in the category of studies that generate variant attacks. The big problem of identifying anomalies in the intrusion detection system is that normal and aggressive behavior share the same space. For this, we applied a technique that can be divided into clear types for normal and attack by discrete wavelet transformation and detected anomalies. As a result, we confirmed that the outliers can be identified through One-Class SVM in the data reconstructed by discrete wavelet transform.

  • With the development of global automotive technology and the expansion of market size, demand for vehicles is increasing, which is leading to a decrease in the number of passengers on the road and an increase in the number of vehicles on the road. This causes traffic jams, and in order to solve these problems, the number of illegal vehicles continues to increase. Various technologies are being studied to crack down on these illegal activities. Previously developed systems use trigger equipment to recognize vehicles and photograph vehicles using infrared cameras to detect the number of passengers on board. In this paper, we propose a vehicle occupant detection system with deep learning model techniques without exploiting existing system-applied trigger equipment. The proposed technique proposes a system to detect vehicles by establishing triggers within images and to apply deep learning object recognition models to detect real-time boarding personnel.

  • As the world has implemented social distancing and telecommuting due to the spread of COVID-19, real-time streaming sessions based on routing protocols have increased dependence on the Internet due to the activation of video and voice-related content services and cloud computing. BGP is the most widely used routing protocol, and although many studies continue to improve security, there is a lack of visual analysis to determine the real-time nature of analysis and the mis-detection of algorithms. In this paper, we analyze BGP data, which are powdered as normal and abnormal, on a real-world basis, using an anomaly detection algorithm that combines statistical and post-processing statistical techniques with Rule-based techniques. In addition, we present an interactive spatio-temporal analysis plan as an intuitive visualization plan and analysis result of the algorithm with a map and Sankey Chart-based visualization technique.

  • There are two unique characteristics of the datasets from a manufacturing process. They are the severe class imbalance and lots of Out-of-Distribution samples. Some good strategies such as the oversampling over the minority class, and the down-sampling over the majority class, are well known to handle the class imbalance. In addition, SMOTE has been chosen to address the issue recently. But, Out-of-Distribution samples have been studied just with neural networks. It seems to be hardly shown that Out-of-Distribution detection is applied to the predictive model using conventional machine learning algorithms such as SVM, Random Forest and KNN. It is known that conventional machine learning algorithms are much better than neural networks in prediction performance, because neural networks are vulnerable to over-fitting and requires much bigger dataset than conventional machine learning algorithms does. So, we suggests a new approach to utilize Out-of-Distribution detection based on SVM algorithm. In addition to that, bagging technique will be adopted to improve the precision of the model.

  • The deteriorated pipline often causes the unexpected leakage and crack. Negligence and late maintenance leads the enormous damage for gas and water resource. This paper proposes early fault detection and diagnosis algorithm for pipeline using acoustic emission (AE) signals. Early fault detection method for pipeline compares the frequency amplitude of the spectrum to that of the spectrum in normal condition. Larger amplitude of the spectrum indicates abnormal condition. Early fault diagnosis algorithm uses support vector machines (SVM), which is trained for normal and abnormal conditions to diagnose the measured AE signal from the target pipeline. In the experiment, a pipeline testbed is constructed similarly to real industrial pipeline. Normal, 5mm cracked, 10mm holed pipelines are installed and tested in this study. The proposed fault detection and diagnosis technique is validated as an efficient approach to detect early faulty condition of pipeline.

  • Localizing damages is an essential task to monitor the health of the structures since they may not be able to operate anymore. Among the damage detection techniques, non-destructive methods are considerably more preferred than destructive methods since damage can be located without affecting the structural integrity. However, these methods have several drawbacks in terms of detecting abilities, time consumption, cost, and hardware or software requirements. Employing artificial intelligence techniques could overcome such issues and could provide a powerful damage detection model if the technique is utilized correctly. In this study, the crack localization in flat and folded plate structures has been conducted by employing a Backpropagated Artificial Neural Network (BPANN). For this purpose, cracks with 18 different dimensions in thin, flat, and folded structures having 150, 300, 450, and 600 folding angle have been modeled and subjected to free vibration analysis by employing the Classical Plate Theory with Finite Element Method. A Four-nodded quadrilateral element having six degrees of freedom has been considered to represent those structures mathematically. The first ten natural frequencies have been obtained regarding healthy and cracked structures. To localize the crack, the ratios of the frequencies of the cracked flat and folded structures to those of healthy ones have been taken into account. Those ratios have been given to BPANN as the input variables, while the crack locations have been considered as the output variables. A total of 500 crack locations have been regarded within the dataset obtained from the results of the free vibration analysis. To build the best intelligent model, a feature search has been conducted for BAPNN regarding activation function, the number of hidden layers, and the number of hidden neurons. Regarding the analysis results, it is concluded that the BPANN is able to localize the cracks with an average accuracy of 95.12%.

  • This paper proposes an artificial intelligence-based personal information area object detection optimization method in an embedded system to de-identify personal information in video data. As an object detection optimization method, first, in order to increase the detection rate for personal information areas when detecting objects, a gyro sensor is used to collect the shooting angle of the image data when acquiring the image, and the image data is converted into a horizontal image through the collected shooting angle. Based on this, each learning model was created according to changes in the size of the image resolution of the learning data and changes in the learning method of the learning engine, and the effectiveness of the optimal learning model was selected and evaluated through an experimental method. As a de-identification method, a shuffling-based masking method was used, and double-key-based encryption of the masking information was used to prevent restoration by others. In order to reuse the original image, the original image could be restored through a security key. Through this, we were able to secure security for high personal information areas and improve usability through original image restoration. The research results of this paper are expected to contribute to industrial use of data without personal information leakage and to reducing the cost of personal information protection in industrial fields using video through de-identification of personal information areas included in video data.
