Fault Detection System by the Extracting the ROM's Data (ROM 데이터 추출을 통한 결함검출 시스템)

  • Generally, the digital circuit card can be tested by automatic test equipment using LASAR(Logic Automated Stimulus and Response). This paper proposes the ROM data extracting algorithm which can test the digital circuit card that consists usually ROMs. We are implemented of the proposed fault detecting program by LabWindow/CVI 8.5 and the digital automatic test instrument with NI-VXI(National Instrument - Versa Bus Modular Europe eXtentions for Instrumentation) card. We also make an interface circuit board connecting the digital test instrument and the digital circuit card. It shows the good performance of getting the data from ROMs.

  • An efficient board-level interconnect test algorithm is proposed considering both the ground bounce effect and the delay fault detection. The proposed algorithm is capable of IEEE 1149.1 interconnect test, negative ground bounce effect prevention, and also detects delay faults as well. The number of final test pattern set is not much different with the previous method, even our method enables to detect the delay faults in addition to the abilities the previous method guarantees.

  • This work describes a real-time method, based on motion energy detection, for detecting and tracking moving object in the consecutive image sequences. The motion of moving objects is detected by taking the difference of the two consecutive image frames. In addition an edge information of the current image is utilized in order to further increase the accuracy of detection. We can track the moving objects continuously by detecting the motion of objects from the sequence of image frames. A prototype system has been implemented using a TI TMS320C6201 EVM fixed-point DSP board, which can successfully track a moving human in real-time.

  • In this study, adapted Turbo Coding Algorithm for reducing communication error of fire detection system for marine vessels, especially image transmission. and proposed decoding speed increasing method of Turbo Coding Algorithm. The results are as follows : 1) Confirmed that a Turbo Code is so useful methods for reducing communication error in lots of noise environments. 2) Proposed technology in this study of speed increasing method of Turbo Coding Algorithm proved 2 times speed up effect than normal Turbo Code and communication error reducing as well in the board made by VHDL software & chips of ALTER Company.

Rapid and Brief Communication GPU implementation of neural networks

  • Graphics processing unit (GPU) is used for a faster artificial neural network. It is used to implement the matrix multiplication of a neural network to enhance the time performance of a text detection system. Preliminary results produced a 20-fold performance enhancement using an ATI RADEON 9700 PRO board. The parallelism of a GPU is fully utilized by accumulating a lot of input feature vectors and weight vectors, then converting the many inner-product operations into one matrix operation. Further research areas include benchmarking the performance with various hardware and GPU-aware learning algorithms. (c) 2004 Pattern Recognition Society. Published by Elsevier Ltd.   • This paper presents the signal processing of the panoramic thermal warning system that detects the small target such as aircraft and helicopter from afar. We develope the all round looking thermal imaging system which can scan all the way. This system acquires the panoramic images to reconstruct the IR images by revolving head of sensor typed line sensor at high speed. For detection, where the object of interest may be small, it is sometimes difficult to specify from object and background by conventional contrast enhancement methods. Therefore we use the adaptive plateau equalization algorithm each region to improve the contrast and make the hardware system which consists of the signal processing board for real-time display. We can verify the proposed method by the computer simulation and the hardware implementation.

  • This paper presents an effective method for detecting vehicles in front of the camera-assisted car during nighttime driving. The proposed method detects vehicles based on detecting vehicle headlights and taillights using techniques of image segmentation and clustering. First, in order to effectively extract spotlight of interest, a pre-signal-processing process based on camera lens filter and labeling method is applied on road-scene images. Second, to spatial clustering vehicle of detecting lamps, a grouping process use light tracking method and locating vehicle lighting patterns. For simulation, we are implemented through Da-vinci 7437 DSP board with visible light mono-camera and tested it in urban and rural roads. Through the test, classification performances are above 89% of precision rate and 94% of recall rate evaluated on real-time environment.

  • Hidden flame detection after allegedly extinguishing a fire cannot be emphasized enough. There are a few commercial hidden fire detection equipments which are imported, but the cost is relatively high. In this contribution, we propose a development of a low-cost, high-performance hidden flame detector using open-source hardware/software. We use Raspberry-pi based hardware board equipped with a TFT touch-screen LCD, a 3G modem, and an attachable battery device altogether integrated in a plastic case fabricated with a 3D printer. The proposed hidden flame detector shows the same performance of a commercial product FLIR E5 while consuming less than a half of the cost.

  • AOI (Automatic Optical Inspection) of PCB (Printed Circuit Board) is a very important step to guarantee the product performance. The process of registering components called teaching mode is first perform, and AOI is then carried out in a testing mode that checks defects, such as recognizing and comparing the component mounted on the PCB to the stored components. Since most of registration of the components on the PCB is done manually, it takes a lot of time and there are many problems caused by mistakes or misjudgement. In this paper, A components classifier is proposed using YOLO (You Only Look Once) v2's object detection model that can automatically register components in teaching modes to reduce dramatically time and mistakes. The network of YOLO is modified to classify small objects, and the number of anchor boxes was increased from 9 to 15 to classify various types and sizes. Experimental results show that the proposed method has a good performance with 99.86% accuracy.

Analysis of EMI Between Overlapped Railway Signalling Systems and Its Countermeasure (철도신호시스템 중첩운영으로 인한 전자파장해현상 분석 및 대책)

  • ATS(Automatic Train Stop) system makes train stop when it runs over the speed limit and ensure the safe operation of train. Seoul Metro line 2 in Korea, which started its passenger service in 1982, has adopted ATS system for its signaling system. The ATS system has only a train stop function at the time of emergency, and Seoul Metro is planning to replaced them with ATC(Automatic Train Control)/ATO(Automatic Train Operation) system which can provide the dedicated speed control for headway reduction and automatic operation of train. Until all the ATS system is replaced with the new ATC system, both systems are to operate simultaneously at the same metro line. In this situation, ATS system sometimes reveals improper operation: train stops suddenly without any obstacles in front of it. These emergency stops cause interruption of passenger service, and abnormal abrasion of wheels and rail. This paper makes it clear that these interruptions are caused by EMI phenomena between ATS on-board device and ATC wayside device : Signal current flowing in AF track circuit of ATC is turn out to be a EMI source that prevent normal operation of the ATS on-board device. Although the two systems have different frequency-ranges (ATS system has frequency range between $78{\sim}130$[kHz] and ATC system has frequency range between $9.5{\sim}16.5$[kHz]), it turned out that EMI phenomena appears between the both systems. This is investigated by measuring the output signal from ATS on-board device passing over ATC wayside device. The FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) analysis of the signal reveals that AF track circuit signal is transmitted to the ATS on-board device and induce noise causing improper operation. The countermeasures to the EMI phenomena are examined in three ways; blocking EMI transmission, enforcement of EMS (Electromagnetic Susceptibility) of ATS on-board device, and blocking the EMI source. It is suggested that the practical solution be blocking EMI source temporarily, that is breaking AF track circuit signal when the trains with ATS on-board device pass over it. To this purpose, TODS(Train Occupation Detection System) is developed, and has made a success in preventing the EMI problem of Seoul Metro line 2.
