This study was performed to evaluate the sensitivity of conventional film-screen radiography (CFSR) and direct digital radiography (DDR) for detection of various amounts of free peritoneal fluid. Ten adult male healthy beagles were used in this study. Radiographic examinations were performed in the right lateral and ventrodorsal positions. Fluid was injected in increments of 2.0 ml/kg of body weight up to 20.0 ml/kg of body weight. The images of CFSR and DDR were evaluated by two veterinary radiologists for evidence of abdominal fluid without knowledge of injected fluid volume. Data were evaluated by using the receiver operation curve (ROC) analysis and the area under the curve (AUC). There was no significant difference in detection of peritoneal fluid between DDR and CFSR in the ROC analysis. The accuracy of CFSR (0.805) was relatively higher than that of DDR (0.733), based on the ROC analysis and AUC. AUC of CFSR was higher in most injection doses. These results suggest that CFSR is more accurate than DDR for the detecting peritoneal fluid. Therefore, for situation in which digital radiographs are equivocal or small amount of fluid is suspected, other imaging modalities, such as ultrasonography would be helpful for determining the presence of fluids.
Purpose: ATP (adenosine triphosphate) is a potent coronary vasodilator with a rapid onset of action and a very short half-life. Myocardial perfusion scintigraphy with intravenous ATP has not yet been sufficiently proven in the diagnosis, follow-up, and risk stratification of coronary artery disease. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety, feasibility and diagnostic accuracy of pharmacologic stress thallium-201 myocardial SPECT using an intra-venous ATP infusion in patients with suspected coronary artery disease. Materials and Methods: Thallium-201 myocardial SPECT in 319 patients with suspected coronary artery disease were performed after the infusion of ATP (0.08 mg/kg/min for 6 min). The adverse effects were carefully monitored. Coronary angiography was also performed within 3 weeks. Results: Although 76.5% of the patients had some adverse effects, they were transient, mild, and well tolerated. In all patients, the ATP infusion protocol was completed and only 2 patients required aminophylline. The adverse effects were dyspnea in 63%, headache in 31%, flushing in 21%, chest pain in 14% and abdominal discomfort in 5% of the patients. The sensitivity and specificity were 80% and 90% respectively. Conclusion: Thallium-201 myocardial SPECT after 6 min-infusion of ATP at a rate of 0.08 mg/kg/min is safe and has a diagnostic value in detecting coronary artery disease.

BACKGROUND: Pesticides are broadly used to control weeds and pests, and the residues remaining in crops are managed in accordance with the MRLs (maximum residue limits). Therefore, an analytical method is required to quantify the residues, and we conducted a series of analyses to select and validate the quick and simple analytical method for tolpyralate in five agricultural products using QuEChERS (quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged and safe) method and LC-MS/MS (liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry). METHODS AND RESULTS: The agricultural samples were extracted with acetonitrile followed by addition of anhydrous magnesium sulfate, sodium chloride, disodium hydrogencitrate sesquihydrate and trisodium citrate dihydrate. After shaking and centrifugation, purification was performed with d-SPE (dispersive-solid phase extraction) sorbents. To validate the optimized method, its selectivity, linearity, LOD (limit of detection), LOQ (limit of quantitation), accuracy, repeatability, and reproducibility from the inter-laboratory analyses were considered. LOQ of the analytical method was 0.01 mg/kg at five agricultural products and the linearity of matrix-matched calibration were good at seven concentration levels, from 0.0025 to 0.25 mg/L (R2≥0.9980). Mean recoveries at three spiking levels (n=5) were in the range of 85.2~112.4% with associated relative standard deviation values less than 6.2%, and the coefficient of variation between the two laboratories was also below 13%. All optimized results were validated according to the criteria ranges requested in the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) and Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) guidelines. CONCLUSION: In conclusion, we suggest that the selected and validated method could serve as a basic data for detecting tolpyralate residue in imported and domestic agricultural products.

A comparative study was conducted for alternative consecutive procedures of detection of cloud-contaminated pixels and gap-filling and smoothing of time-series data to produce high-quality gapless satellite vegetation index (i.e. Normalized Difference Vegetation Index, NDVI). Performances of five alternative methods for detecting cloud contaminations were tested with ground-observed cloudiness data. The data gap was filled with a simple linear interpolation and then, it was applied two alternative smoothing methods (i.e. Savitzky-Golay and Wavelet transform). Moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS) data were used in this study. Among the alternative cloud detection methods, a criterion of MODIS Band 3 reflectance over 10% showed best accuracy with an agreement rate of 85%, which was followed by criteria of MODIS Quality assessment (82%) and Band 3 reflectance over 20% (81%), respectively. In smoothing process, the Savitzky-Golay filter was better performed to retain original NDVI patterns than the wavelet transform. This study demonstrated an operational framework of gapdetection, filling, and smoothing to produce high-quality satellite vegetation index.
Purpose: Nasal bone fractures are the most common childhood facial bone fractures, with an incidence of about 39%. While taking a nasal bone x-ray is a common modality used in the emergency department, reports have expressed concerns with its low sensitivity and low specificity. Our study was aimed at comparing accuracy of physical and x-ray examination with that of facial bone computed tomography (CT). Methods: Electronic medical records (EMR) were retrospectively reviewed for patients under the age of 15 who visited our emergency department from January 2010 to December 2011with a chief complaint of nasal pain due to trauma and who had also undergone a nasal bone x-ray and facial bone CT. Patients who had not taken facial bone CT, who had been transferred, and who did not have EMR were excluded. We divided the patients into 2 groups, those who had nasal bone fractures and those without a fracture on their facial bone CT. We analyzed other parameters such as age, sex, and type of fracture to find statistical differences between the two groups. Results: A total of 209 patients were included. The patients with nasal bone fractures on their facial bone CT were older, and their traumas were more violent. Ten patients who had apparent nasal bone fractures on their facial bone CT had no definite signs of a fracture on their plain x-ray. Conclusion: Though facial bone CT is an effective modality in detecting nasal bone fractures, in evaluating younger patients suspected of having nasal bone fractures, prudent use of facial bone CT is needed to reduce unnecessary exposure to radiation.
To evaluate the usefulness and differences in diagnosing coronary artery disease (CAD) between men and women of intravenous dipyridamole $^{99m}Tc$-MIBI myocardial SPECT, we obtained $^{99m}Tc$-MIBI myocardial SPECT and compared with the findings of coronary angiographies. Ninety eight male and 37 female patients who underwent dipyridamole $^{99m}Tc$-MIBI myocardial imaging within one month of cardiac catheterization were studied. Scans were considered abnormal if perfusion defect was detected and the defect size was more than 12% for left anterior descending artery (LAD) and circumflex (LCX) and 8% for right coronary artery (RCA) territories. Lesions${\geqq}$50% luminal diameter narrowing were considered significant CAD. Overall sensitivity for detection of CAD was 94.3% in men and 96.4% in women; specificity was 70% in men and 52.6% in women (P=not significant, ns). Vessel-matched sensitivity was 75.3% in men and 72.7% in women (P=ns): specificity was 84.6% in men and 67.9% in women (P < 0.025). For individual coronary artery, the sensitivity in men and women was 87.7%, 81.8% for LAD; 78%, 83.3% for RCA and 52.2%, 46.7% for LCX (P=ns): the specificity was 80%, 40% for LAD (P<0.01), 82.5%, 68.4% for RCA, 88.9%, 86.4% for LCX (P=ns). The hemodynamic parameter after intravenous dipyridamole in men and women were significantly changed; the heart rate was increased and systolic, diastolic blood pressure was decreased. Adverse effects were reported in 58.8% of men and 72.7% in women (P=ns). The incidence of chest pain and headache were higher in women. There was no significant difference in the incidences of nausea, abdominal pain, dizziness, facial flushing, dyspnea. In conclusion, dipyridamole $^{99m}Tc$-MIBI myocardial SPECT is a safe, noninvasive test for evaluation of CAD. There was no gender difference to detect CAD, but more false-positive rate in women especially in the territory of LAD.

Recently, more accurate database information of facilities is being required, with the increase in importance of urban road facility management. Therefore, this study proposed how to automatically detect particular traffic signs necessary for efficient construction of road facility DB. For this study, central locations of facilities were searched, after recognition and automatic detection of particular traffic signs through an image. Then, coordinate values of traffic signs calculated in the study were compared with real coordinate values, in order to evaluate the accuracy of traffic sign locations which were finally detected. Computer vision technology was used in recognizing and detecting traffic signs through OPEN CV-based coding, and photogrammetry was used in calculating accurate locations of detected traffic signs. For the experiment, circular road signal(No Parking) and triangular road signal(Crosswalk) were chosen out of various kinds of road signals. The research result showed that the circular road signal had a nearly 50cm error value, and the triangular road signal had a nearly 60cm error value, when comparing the calculated coordinates with the real coordinates. Though this result is not satisfactory, it is considered that there would be no problem to find locations of traffic signs.

With high social demands for the diverse utilizations of forest lands, the illegal forest land use changes have increased. We studied change detection technique to detect changes in forest land use using an object-oriented segmentation of RED bands differencing in multi-temporal aerial photographs. The new object-oriented segmentation method consists of the 5 steps, "Image Composite - Segmentation - Reshaping - Noise Remover - Change Detection". The method enabled extraction of deforested objects by selecting a suitable threshold to determine whether the objects was divided or merged, based on the relations between the objects, spectral characteristics and contextual information from multi-temporal aerial photographs. The results found that the object-oriented segmentation method detected 12% of changes in forest land use, with 96% of the average detection accuracy compared by visual interpretation. Therefore this research showed that the spatial data by the object-oriented segmentation method can be complementary to the one by a visual interpretation method, and proved the possibility of automatically detecting and extracting changes in forest land use from multi-temporal aerial photographs.

In this paper, we will design the speed measurement board of LEO Satellite's reaction wheel which has two speed measuring methods as M-Method type and T-Method type. therefore we can use the advantage of two methods. and we will verify the availability of design on the on-board computer at the real LEO Satellite(KOMPSAT-3). In the reaction wheels satellite that can change the satellite's attitude is one of the leading drivers by the rotational inertia of the motor will perform attitude control. Reaction methods for detecting wheel rotation speed generated during a certain period T internal reaction wheel tacho pulse counting M-Method to detect wheel speed and wheel tacho pulses are generated by measuring the time between the detection rate can be divided into T-Method. M-method is simple to implement and benefit measurement time is constant, but slow fall in the velocity measurement accuracy is a disadvantage. In contrast, the time between tacho pulses to measure the T-Method to measure the precise speed at low speed and to measure the time delay is small, has the advantage. However, this method also in the actual implementation and the complexity of the operation at different speeds depending on the speed of operation has the disadvantage.
Recently, attackers using malicious code in cyber security have been increased by attaching malicious code to a mail and inducing the user to execute it. Especially, it is dangerous because it is easy to execute by attaching a document type file. The author analysis is a research area that is being studied in NLP (Neutral Language Process) and text mining, and it studies methods of analyzing authors by analyzing text sentences, texts, and documents in a specific language. In case of attack mail, it is created by the attacker. Therefore, by analyzing the contents of the mail and the attached document file and identifying the corresponding author, it is possible to discover more distinctive features from the normal mail and improve the detection accuracy. In this pager, we proposed IADA2(Intelligent Attack mail Detection based on Authorship Analysis) model for attack mail detection. The feature vector that can classify and detect attack mail from the features used in the existing machine learning based spam detection model and the features used in the author analysis of the document and the IADA2 detection model. We have improved the detection models of attack mails by simply detecting term features and extracted features that reflect the sequence characteristics of words by applying n-grams. Result of experiment show that the proposed method improves performance according to feature combinations, feature selection techniques, and appropriate models.
