Development of Expert System for Supporting Assembly-Oriented Product Design (조립지향적 제품설계지원 전문가시스템의 개발)

  • This paper presents the development of a knowledge-based expert system to assist for designer in the process of designing products for easier assembly. The developed expert system for supporting assembly-oriented product design, which is named as DFA-MASTER, consists of two subsystems such as "Assembly Method Selection System" which provides feasible assembly methods to designer and "DFA-Analysis System" which provides guidelines to improve assemblability of products in the early stage of product design. The developed system is interfaced with AutoCAD system and can be run under PC environments. By using DFA-MASTER, designer can obtain feasible assembly methods which have high assemblability under the given asssembly conditions and also evaluate the assemblability of part feature or product structure.

  • Application specific instruction-set processor (ASIP) is a suitable design choice for system designers who seek both flexibility to handle various applications in the domain together with the performance. Successful development of an ASIP, however, requires a software development kit (SDK) to be provided along with the processor. Synopsys Processor Designer is an ASIP development tool, which takes as input a set of files written in a high-level architecture description language called LISA (Language for Instruction Set Architecture), and generates SDK as well as RTL. Recently, they have added support for the generation of LLVM compiler backend, though some manual work is required. In this paper, we introduce some details in porting LLVM compiler to a custom processor architecture in Synopsys Processor Designer.

  • Mold design is a knowledge-intensive decision making process where product designer, injection molding engineer as well as mold designer affect each other. Representation and management of design knowledge is a prerequisite for an intelligent design system, which aims to guide and support designer to carry out design activity in more efficient way by avoiding or minimizing unnecessary trial and errors. This paper discusses the issues in knowledge-based mold design, and describes the structure of a knowledge-based mold design system fur parts with micro features under development.

Characterization of in vitro Metabolites of Methylenedioxy Designer Drugs

  • Eutylone, dibutylone, and dimethylone are potential psychotropic designer drugs. The purpose of this study was to investigate the in vitro metabolic pathways of synthetic cathinones with methylenedioxy groups. The three methylenedioxy derivatives were incubated with human liver microsomes. The metabolites were characterized based on liquid chromatography and quadrupole-time-of-flight mass spectrometry. Eutylone, dibutylone, and dimethylone were metabolized to yield three, six, and four metabolites, respectively. Reduction and demethylenation were the major metabolic pathways for all three drugs tested. However, dibutylone and dimethylone showed an additional metabolite generated via N-oxidation. These results provide evidence for the in vivo metabolism of methylenedioxy synthetic cathinones, and could be applied to the analysis of synthetic cathinones and their relevant metabolites in biological samples.

Comparative Assessment of Usability of Web-storming System between Administrator and Designer Groups in Space Design Process (공간디자인 프로세스에서 관리자·실무자 그룹의 웹스토밍 시스템 활용성 비교평가)

  • Considering the online idea generation, or web-storming, system would be used differently by space designers depending on their job characteristics, the present study tested the usability of web-storming using a factor correlation table with a designer group in the field. Then, for analyses, the results were compared with the previous findings on the usability of web-storming in a design administrator group to suggest comprehensive measures applicable to web-storming. The questionnaire results were analysed following a process of observation-interpretation-application, and the space design process and web-storming function factors were also analysed based on a factor correlation table. The analyses found that the most correlated space design process in both administrator and designer groups was the schematic design phase, and that the correlation started to lower upon division of labour. The assessment phase was found significantly different between the designer group and the administrator group. The assessment phase showed the second highest correlation in the designer group. In terms of the aspects related to project operation, the correlation was found higher in the designer group. Based on the findings, new applicable measures to each phase of web-storming were derived and summed up to suggest how to take advantage of web-storming in the field.

  • In this paper design of speed controller for AC servo system by rapid design system(RG-01D) using DSP of Realgain company is introduced. 'AC Servo-Designer' system, including CEMTool/SIMTool S/W, RG-DSPIO board, AC servo driver and AUTOTool program, is used in this research. Because 'AC Servo-Designer' system can use SIMTool blocks to design and implement various controller in short time, speed controller for AC servo system is easily designed and implemented according to control objectives.

  • 본 논문에서는 안드로이드 애플리케이션 개발을 효과적으로 지원 할 수 있는 GUI Flow Designer for Android(GuiFA) 도구를 구현한다. GuiFA는 안드로이드 프로그램을 구성하는 액티비티들의 흐름을 한 눈에 파악 할 수 있는 기능을 제공할 뿐만 아니라 그것들의 흐름을 구현하는 소스코드를 생성해준다. 이러한 GuiFA의 기능을 사용하여 액티비티들의 흐름을 한 화면에 시각화시켜 효과적인 개발이 가능하고 생성된 코드를 이용하여 효율적으로 애플리케이션을 구현할 할 수 있다.

  • We report our CAB system on thermal analysis for mould designer who is not expert of numerical simulation. Our mathematical model of thermal analysis is axi-symmetrically. It has an automatic mesh-generator that is based on Delaunay method, by using CAD data. And boundary conditions are also fitted automatically.
