This study presents the method of extracting shape design data on any aspheric lens by reverse engineering. The design formula fur aspheric lenses is needed in almost all of the design, manufacture and measuring processes. The difficulty in designing the lens lies in the fact that it uses a complex formula for the aspheric surface, and many of the preliminary design values must be selected before actually inserting them into the formula. If the values could be extracted from an aspheric lens for which the structural design information is unknown and used in designing other lenses of similar characteristics, the difficulties in designing and measuring aspheric lens could be reduced. Therefore, in this study, the concept of reverse engineering was applied to demonstrate the method of extracting shape design information of aspheric lens from an arbitrary aspheric lens.

The critical problem in dealing with multiple characteristics is how to compromise the conflict among the selected levels of the design parameters for each individual characteristic. In this study, First, Methodology using SN ratio optimized by univariate technique is proposed and a parameter design procedure to achieve the optimal compromise among several different response variables is developed. Second, to solve the issue on the optimal design for multiple quality characteristics, this study modelled the expected loss function with cross-product terms among the characteristics and derived range of the coefficients of the terms. The model will be used to determine the global optimal design parameters where there exists the conflict among the characteristics, which shows difference in optimal design parameters for the individual characteristics. Third, this paper propose a decision model to incorporates the values assigned by a group of experts on different factors in weighting decision of characteristic. Using this model, SN ratio of taguchi method for each of subjective factors as well as values of weights are used in this comprehensive method for weighting decision of characteristic.
For two engine design parameters; compression ratio and intake swirl ratio, measurement of concentrations of hydrocarbon species has been made as a function of various air-fuel ratio in order to investigate the ozone formation of HC emissions from LPG fuel. Higher compression ratio gave lower SR values due to larger aIkan species and higher BSR values because of larger NMHC generation. Swirl ratio did not affect HC emissions and ozone formation. For ${\lambda}=1.1{\sim}1.2$, higher SR values resulted from the species of aIken which has higher MIRs were highly produced. Leaner mixture showed lower SR values due to the increase of the aIkan which has a lower MIR.
In this paper, we propose the face recognition system using the neural network. A difficult procedure in constructing the entire recognition systems is the feature extraction from the face imga. And a key poing is the design of the matching function that relates the set of feature values to the appropriate face candidates. We use the length and angle values as feature values that are extracted from the face image normalized to the range of [0,1]. These features values are applied to the input layer of the neural network. Then, these multi-layered perceptron learns or gives otput result. By using the neural network we need not to design the matching function. This function may have nonlinear attributes considerably and would be ...

Recently, the calculation of horizontal bearing capacity of piles foundation has been considered very important for earthquake or wind resistant design in Korea. This study deals with the lateral resistance of PHC pile instead of vertical capacity for earthquake resistant design as well as wind. As case study, the prediction values were compared with measured ones based on ASTM. During this research, Matlock & Reese, Davisson & Gill, Broms and Chang's methods were selected in calculating prediction of lateral resistance of PHC piles. In decomposed granite and clayey soils, The result showed that prediction values proposed by Matlock & Reese(Davisson & Gill), Chang and Broms were smaller values than real values. four proposed methods by Matlock & Reese(Davisson & Gill) and Chang based on lateral deflection and Broms by ultimate lateral resistance turned out valid in view of engineering practice.
For the development of high quality textiles, silk fabrics were dyed repeatedly with persimmon juice by padding mangle. We evaluated the mechanical properties and hand value by Kawabata Evaluation system for dyed silk fabrics. The results obtained from this study were as follows. With the increase of repeating padding times of dyeing, the linearity load-extension curves of the silk fabrics were increased; however, the tensile resilience of fabrics decreased. The hysteresis values of shear force were increased without significant change of shear stiffness. The coefficient of friction values were also decreased and geometrical roughness values were increased. The silk fabrics dyed with persimmon juice had shown the thickness and weight grow as the number of padding increases. The hand values of silk fabrics which were classified into 6 items in the Kawabata Evaluation System, were evaluated as repeating times of dyeing with persimmon juice. The hand values of Koshi(stiffness) and Hari(anti-drape stiffness) were increased, whereas Shinayakasa (flexibility with soft feeling) and Fukurami(fullness and softness) were decreased by dyeing with persimmon juice. However there was no significant change in hand values according to repeating padding times of dyeing.
This study aims to investigate how consumers perceive the attributes (ubiquity, continuity) of metaverse fashion brands in a virtual space. It also empirically verifies the impact on consumers' perceived values (hedonic value, social value) and consumer behavioral intentions (intention to use the platform, intention to purchase virtual products). The results verified in this study are as follows: First, we confirmed that the metaverse attributes perceived by consumers in the virtual space of the fashion brand, ubiquity and daily extension, positively affect customers' perceived hedonic and social values. Second, we found that consumers' perceived hedonic and social values have a significant positive effect on their intention to use the platform. Finally, we found that consumers' intention to use the platform had a significant positive effect on their intention to purchase virtual products. The results of this study will have academic significance by expanding the scope of research related to identifying metaverse attributes and values by identifying metaverse attributes and consumer values that perceived by consumers in fashion brands' virtual spaces in the metaverse. This study suggests a direction and strategy for fashion brands to move forward in building virtual spaces on the metaverse platform. In this way, they can create perceived value for consumers that elicits positive consumer behavioral intentions.
This research was conducted to investigate the structural relationship social support of college students has with their occupational values, career decision, and quality of life. Subjects of study were art and design college students in Seoul. Social support, occupational values, career decision, and quality of life were measured as criteria. SPSS and AMOS were used to test structural model and the relationship among variables. Results of this study are as follows. First, effects of social support on internal and external occupational values were studied. Second, effects of social support on quality of life-satisfaction and happiness-were studied. Third, effects of occupational values on career decision standards were studied. External occupational values had a statistically significant correlation with career decision, while internal occupational values were found to have no statistically significant effect on career decision. Based on the results, it can be inferred that colleges which need to support the careers and employment of students must support students with informational and instrumental support. Design students must be provided with proper career coaching and environment improvement, as well as development of programs suitable for various talents and aptitudes, so that they can shape appropriate occupational values.

The purpose of this study was to perform a survey of the radiation shielding design goals (P) and workload (W) based on the radiation safety reports concerned with structural shielding design for the IMRT treatment technique in Tomotherapy vaults. The values of the P and W factors as well as of a verified concrete thickness of the ceiling, bottom, sidewalls (sidewall-1 and sidewall-2), and door have been obtained from radiation safety reports for a total of 16 out of 20 vaults. The recommended and most widely used report for P values was the NCRP No. 151 report, which stated that the P factor in controlled and uncontrolled areas was 0.1 and 0.02 mSv/week, respectively. The range of the W factor was 600~14,720 Gy/week. The absorbed dose delivered per patient was 2~3 Gy. The maximum number of patients treated per day was 10~70. The quality assurance (QA) dose was 100~1,000 Gy/week. Fifteen values of the IMRT factor (F) were mostly used but a maximum of 20 values was also used. The concrete thickness for primary structures including the ceiling, bottom, sidewalls, and door was sufficient for radiation shielding. The P and W factors affect the calculation of the structural shielding design, and several parameters, such as the absorbed dose, patients, QA dose, days and F factor can be varied according to the type of shielding structure. To ensure the safety of the radiation shielding, it is necessary to use the NCRP No. 151 report for the standard recommendation values.

Many sea accidents such as collisions and groundings of vessels were occurred due to the lack of sufficient manoeuvring capability of vessels. Therefore IMO adopted 'The interim standards of ship manoeuvrability by Resolution A.751(18) and the standards have been applied to vessels of 100m or more in length and all chemical tankers and gas carriers regardless of the length, which were constructed on or after 1 July 1994. The IMO manoeuvrability standards are divided into three kinds as bellows; (1) Turning capability standards : Estimated values in design stage are to be certified by turning circle test of the actual vessel. (2) Course keeping quality standards : Estimated values in design stage are to be certified by $10^\sqsubset\;and\;20^\sqsubset$ Zig-Zag tests of the actual vessel. (3) Shortest stopping distance standards : Estimated values in design stage are to be certified by the shortest stopping distance tested by the actual vessel. In this paper, the authors computed the values of the manoeuvring standards of several vessels from their original design and compared them with those results from experiments of the model ships and also examined the values and concluded about the validity of IMO Manoeuvrability standards.
