고준위폐기물 기준처분시스템의 건전성과 처분안전성의 실험적 검증에 필수적인 지하처분연구시설의 기본설계 도출을 위한 연구가 수행되었다. 먼저 지하처분연구시설의 부지에 대해 간단히 기술하고, 이 부지에 건설될 지하처분연구시설의 기본개념을 제시하고자 하였다. 제시된 기본개념을 충족시키기 위한 지하처분연구시설의 설계 요구사항을 설정하고, 이러한 기본개념과 설계요구사항을 바탕으로 지하처분연구시설의 기본설계를 수행하였다. 또 향후 지하처분연구시설에서 수행될 연구항목을 도출하였다.

Korean society is changing into aged society with the speed which has never happened by other countries before. This has been the consequence of low birthrate and Increase in life expectancy. However, such social problem result in many studies on elderly environment. The purpose of this study is to systematically analyze empirical studies on elderly environment in Korea, find out research streaming and understand social backgrounds. For this study, content analysis was conducted. Articles of 4 registered academic institute published from 1986 to 2005 were units of analysis. Using keyword through library database systems, the articles were systematically selected. As results, trends of research according to 4 periods were identified. Among them as major trends, expansion of the quantity, expansion to Intoner design, more facilities for dependent elderly appeared. This result showed implications on interior design education and research for aging friendly design.

We proposed a modularization design technique for implementing software of on-board train control system. We already proved the efficiency of CASE Tool(SCADE) for safety critical software design. The several functions of train are implemented on CASE tool each modules. We divided functions of train into modules based on the modularization design. We used MATLAB for design of on-board train control software. We proved that this technique is more useful for the software design of on-board train control for EMU.

To reduce the construction cost and enhance the safety of sodium cooled liquid metal reactors, various kinds of new design concepts were evaluated using the KALIMER operation condition. The required equipment sizes were set for plant electricity output to be similar to that of KALIMER. The evaluations were made focusing on the plant performance and implementation practicality. Each design concept was evaluated for the concept itself and design impacts to interfacing systems. Through the evaluation of the concepts, it was found that the most favorable design concept is the integrated steam generator with forced convection using lead bismuth as the intermediate heat transfer fluid between the primary sodium tube and feed water/steam tube in the steam generator.

UX (User Experience) Design was an interdisciplinary approach in humanities, engineering, science and design. We classified the roles of user experience; requirement analysis which are user research, constraints analysis and direction analysis, concept design, information architecture, physical UI, graphical UI, sound UI, Olfactory UI, prototype, evaluation, launch, localization, and knowledge management/UI DB. User research methods were classified by the relation of designer, user, and product/service. We reviewed three issues of UX design; complexity management, efficiency management, and mapping management.

Compared to the fields of Interior Design and Architecture, there have been very few research studies peformed to analyze the history of furniture design in Korea. If our Country wishes to become a participant in the world of global furniture design, it will be necessary to perform more offensive research in both the design of furniture, as well as a complete documentation of our Country's history of furniture design. This study aims to detail the method of chair design by analyzing two examples of chair design. The study, once complete, will be a reference for furniture designers as a practical method, and will become basic material for ongoing studies of the Programming for chair design.

The research expects that textual sources such as reading texts with additional information in the form of texts can be effective inspiration sources for fashion design ideation and development process. This research analyzes how efficiently textual sources work along with individual internal sources, such as sociocultural influence, design fixation, and during the design process. Six fashion design graduate students shared 2 inspirational experiences under 2 different studies (4 experiences in total); in addition, in-depth interviews were conducted based on individual design sketches. The result shows that textual sources provided a positive effect on all 6 participants with different intensities based on various backgrounds and individual tastes. This result demonstrates individual 'influence' (their sociocultural capital such as personal preferences, likings, habits, and past experiences) and 'inspiration' mutually work together to make an effect on fashion designers' ideation and development process for the design, sometimes one working more than the other (or vice versa), respectively. This paper makes important practical contributions by identifying and discussing the design behavior performed (especially in fashion design) by fashion design students during the design process with new sources of inspiration provided such as textual sources. The research revealed how textual sources can be an effective inspiration for fashion design students and provide insight to fashion design educators and professional fashion designers.

본 연구는 장소에 기반한 증강현실 서비스의 콘텐츠 디자인을 위해 사용자의 맥락을 기반으로 한 통합적 디자인 방법론에 대해 논의하고자 한다. 모바일 서비스에 관련한 미디어 콘텐츠는 다이내믹한 환경과 사용자의 맥락을 고려하여 디자인이 되어야 하며, 이에 따라 증강현실 콘텐츠를 위한 맥락 기반 디자인 방법론을 제안하고자 하였다. 디자인 방법론 연구를 위해 새로운 디자인 방법론을 제시하기 위한 연구사례들을 파악하고 여러 방법론의 통합적 접근방식을 이해하였다. 이 방법에 기반하여, 맥락 기반 디자인 방법론들을 조사하고 이를 통합하고자 하였다. 맥락 기반 디자인 방법론에는 두 가지 상반된 연구방법이 있으며, 두 연구사례들을 분석하고 장점을 통합함으로써 종합적인 맥락 기반 디자인 방법론을 제안하고자 하였다. 이는 새로운 기술이 적용되고 있는 증강현실 콘텐츠 제작에 있어 향후 디자인 방법론으로써 이용하는 데 도움이 되고자 하는 목적을 지니고 있다.

Tall building has some controversial aspects with low carbon city, but it is still a sensible choice for the metropolitan city. This paper aims to develop holistic urban design strategies to minimize impacts on the environment, increase energy efficiency and improve the quality of living in tall building communities by utilizing tall building characteristics. It puts forward the concept of integrated tall building-low carbon community design from the perspective of urban design, and summarizes five core strategies: Temporal state based on energy use, Complementary energy use state based on functions, Spatial state based on regional environment features, Transportation state based on low-carbon lifestyle and Waste utilization state based on tall building characteristics. It also applies the strategies to a practical project. The results show that the proposed urban design strategies are available approaches to mitigate the side effects of tall building on low carbon city.

Objective: We propose empathy as a user research method for service design. Background: We argue that empathy will enable user researchers to go beyond the conceptual knowledge to the design knowledge of user experience. Method: We tested our hypothesis by conducting an experiment in which subjects were required to propose solutions to improve the experience of a family member of a patient hospitalized in an emergency department. Results: We found that the subjects who empathized with the family member of a patient tended to suggest the solutions based on design knowledge rather than the solutions based on conceptual knowledge compared to the subjects who did not empathize. Conclusion: Data support our hypothesis that empathy enables people to focus on design knowledge rather than conceptual knowledge. Application: These findings provide practical implications for user researchers in service design.
