Objectives : The aim of this study is to report the case improved through Korean Medicine Including Herbal Medicine with Astragali radix, Rehmannia glutinosa as main ingredients, Acupuncture and External Preparation on the treatment of contact dermatitis. Methods : A patient with contact dermatitis was diagnosed through Korean Medicine and treated with Herbal Medicine with Astragali radix, Rehmannia glutinosa as main ingredients, Acupuncture and External preparation. The Degree of itching was assessed with Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and the severity of wheals and redness on lesion site was assessed through photography. Results : VAS decreased from 9 to 1 and wheals and redness on lesion site was disappeared. Conclusions : According to the result, These findings suggest that Korean Medicine can be effective for the treatment of contact dermatitis.

Wished to examine closely effect that Atopy cream-Jawoongo ointment (A-J) used to atopy dermatitis disease patient get in atopy eruption control experimentally. In this research A-J ointment as treatment result to a NC/Nga mouse by BMAC ointment, clinical skin severity score decreased remarkably than control group. Thus, NC/Nga mice suffered from dermatitis very similar to human AD with IgE hyperproduction. Specially, result that measure IgE and IgG1 level in serum decreased remarkably than control group.

Atopic dermatitis is a chronic, inflammatory skin disease characterized by intense pruritus and the course marked by exacerbation and remission. It has the characteristic symptoms of dry, itchy, scaly skin with cracks by typical distribution of lesions. Even though the etiology of atopic dermatitis is not fully understood, it is considered an allergic reaction whose onset is frequently and strongly associated with both hereditary and environmental factors. In the present clinical study, we studied the efficacy of internal herb-medicine, external herb medicine - ex. dermal oints, aqueous solutions, etc -, and steam therapy. The patient's SCORAD index was lowered 55.8 than before of which the SCORAD index was 74.8. On the basis of this study, it should be considered that the treatment of atopic dermatitis should be focused on the external therapy as steam therapy, dermal oint, a aqueous solution etc.

Objectives: This study reports using Hyungbangsabaksan to cure Soyangin Yangdokbalban (陽毒發斑) appealing Systemic Allergic Contact Dermatitis. Methods: After diagnosing the patient showing Papuloerythematous with no blisters in the body as a Soyangin Yangdokbalban (陽毒發斑), we prescribed the patient with Hyungbangsabak-san. We compared the condition of the patient before and after medication with photo shots. Results: After treatment, Papuloerythematous which was seen with the naked eye disappeared and various skin symptoms such as itching and warmth in the flare area also improved. Conclusions: After treatment, the symptoms of the patient who after eating lacquer chicken showed improvement.

Objective: This study aimed to report the improvement of a patient with nummular eczema treated with Hoeyeok-tang based on Shanghanlun provisions. Methods: According to the disease pattern identification diagnostic system (DPIDS) based on the Shanghanlun provisions, the patient was diagnosed with lesser yin disease according to the 324^th provision. The patient was treated with Hoeyeok-tang for 90 days. The severity of pruritus decreased, and changes in symptoms were estimated by a visual analog scale, Scoring Atopic Dermatitis Index and the Validated Investigator Global Assessment for Atopic Dermatitis. Results: The patient's symptoms were improved. The severity of pruritus decreased and they recovered from abrasions. Conclusions: This study suggests that the 324^th provision of Shanghanlun refer directly to nummular eczema.

Objective : The purpose of this paper is to report the improved contact dermatitis(CD) treated with the herbal medication based on Shanghanlun disease pattern identification diagnostic system. The level V steroid ointments were no use to the patient 3weeks before the treatment. Methods : In this case, the patient was diagnosed according to 'Disease Pattern Identification Diagnostic System based on Shanghanlun Provisions' and took Mahwang-tang for 36days since the final diagnosis was Taeyang-byung, number 46 provision. The photographs of patient's hands were taken to observe the process of the skin status and the discomfort from CD was measured with DLQI(Dermatologic Life Quality Index) and NRS(Numeric Rating Scale). Results : The DLQI score changed from 24 to 7 and NRS of itching changed form 8 to under 4. Conclusions : This case report shows that the herbal medication through the diagnostic system could be a remedy on CD, dealing with the skin status with no use of the level V steroid ointments. It is needed proving an alternative possibility of Korean Medicine, on other skin diseases, with later studies since there are many reports on the side-effects after some long-term steroid treatments.

Objective This study is designed to investigate the effect of Korean medical therapy on Allergic contact dermatitis patient. Method This is a case report on a female patient who has been suffering from allergic contact dermatitis. To reduce her symptoms, we provided with internal herbal medicine 3 times a day, acupuncture therapy two time a day and Carbon phototherapy one time a day. Results After series of treatments, the symptoms of allergic contact dermatitis were remarkably improved. SCORAD Index was changed from 77.3 to 13.6. Conclusions This study shows us that Korean medical treatments has remedial values for dermatitis patients. Hence, more studies should be demanded in Korean medicine for elevation of treatment rate.

Objectives This study investigated the effect of camping style Hospitalization program for atopic dermatitis female adolescent patients. 6 patients, 12-14 year old female adolescent, admitted for camping style hospitalization program.Methods 6 patients were admitted for camping style hospitalization program (2014.08.13~2014.08.16). The program included acupuncture, herbal medicine, examination, education, psychotherapy, dressing, exercise. The patients were analyzed by Severity Scoring Atopic Dermatitis(SCORAD) index and measured skin pH value(pH). Also, patients evaluated themselves by writing an atopic dermatitis diary which consists of diet, emotion, severity of pruritus, and sleep loss, and checked questionnaires which consist of atopic dermatitis, self treatment methods and degree of satisfaction of each program.Results Most of subjective symptoms which patients complained were improved and also SCORAD index total scores were decreased by sasang constitutional medication.Conclusions We expect that the camping style hospitalization program based on sasang constitutional medicine could be helpful for female adolescent patient of atopic dermatitis.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the effect of Korean medical treatment on a patient with atopic eruption of pregnancyMethods: Patient who diagnosed by atopic eruption of pregnancy was enrolled in this study. She received Korean medicine therapies such as herbal medicine, acupuncture and external application. Sopungchungyoung-tangs and Seungmahwangryeon-tangs were prescribed according to the patient’s constitution which was pungyeol. The severity of symptom was evaluated by the severity SCORing for Atopic Dermatitis index (SCORAD index).Results: Subjective symptom such as Systemic pruritus, sleep loss, and Dermatitis lesions was reduced by Korean medicine therapies.Conclusions: The present study suggests that Korean medicine therapies have a effect on atopic eruption of pregnancy.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the oriental treatment on Irritant Dermatitis Caused by Wood Vinegar on Pustulosis Palmaris et Plantaris. Methods : After using Wood Vinegar, a patient suffers from erythema, pruritus, pain, desquamation of skin and degeneration of Pustulosis Palmaris et Plantaris. The patient was admitted to Dunsan oriental hospital for 15 days and took an oriental(venesection, herbal-medicine, and vapor treatment) treatment. To evaluate the results of this treatment, the improvement of symptoms(vesicles, pruritus, pain) was identified by patient's subjective expression and in lesion-symptom improvement. Results : The symptoms caused by Wood vinegar on both palms and soles were improved but the desquamation of skin remained. Conclusions : This study shows that the oriental medical treatment effects on the irritant dermatitis caused by Wood Vinegar. Also, the public should be aware of indiscreetly-used, natural herbal products as a folk remedy.
