The carbinols, hydrazide, Schiff's bases and acryloyl derivatives of 2-thiobenzethiazole were prepared. The acid and nitrile of 20thiobenzothiazole were also obtained. The derivatives were tested for their antibacterial activities. Some derivatives showed the highest antifungal and activity.
In this paper, we find $n^{th}$ order wavelet derivatives of a sufficiently smooth function using biorthogonal wavelet bases and derive the order of convergence of the $n^{th}$ order wavelet derivatives.
The effect of urea and urea derivatives on the percutaneous absorption of salicylic acid and sodium salicylate through the skin of rabbit from petrolatum ointment was investigated. It was found that addition of urea or urea derivatives to the ointment base significantly increased the percutaneous absorption of the drugs in proportion to the concentratoin of the additive. The percutaneous absorptoin-enhancing activities of these compounds were that urea derivatives with the more and longer alkyl substituents showed the stronger activities. These activities of urea and urea derivatives were ascribed to the binding of these compounds with the lipids and proteins of the stratum corneum of the skin and the swelling of the tissues, which leads to the reduction of the barrier property of the layer. The preliminary skin irritation test showed that urea and urea derivatives were quite non-irritating to the skin. These results suggest that urea derivatives have a strong possibility to be developed as a percutaneous absorption enhancer.
Flutter derivatives provide the basis of predicting the critical wind speed in flutter and buffeting analysis of long-span cable-supported bridges. Many studies have been performed on the methods and applications of identification of flutter derivatives of bridge decks under wind action. In fact, strong wind, especially typhoon, is always accompanied by heavy rain. Then, what is the effect of rain on flutter derivatives and flutter critical wind speed of bridges? Unfortunately, there have been no studies on this subject. This paper makes an initial study on this problem. Covariance-driven Stochastic Subspace Identification (SSI in short) which is capable of estimating the flutter derivatives of bridge decks from their steady random responses is presented first. An experimental set-up is specially designed and manufactured to produce the conditions of rain and wind. Wind tunnel tests of a quasi-streamlined thin plate model are conducted under conditions of only wind action and simultaneous wind-rain action, respectively. The flutter derivatives are then extracted by the SSI method, and comparisons are made between the flutter derivatives under the two different conditions. The comparison results tentatively indicate that rain has non-trivial effects on flutter derivatives, especially on and $H_2$ and $A_2$thus the flutter critical wind speeds of bridges.
Five kinds of allylthiopyridazine derivatives were synthesized and their chemoprotective activities examined in rats exposed to aflatoxin $B_1$-toxicant. Rats were pretreated with five allylthiopyridazine derivatives at daily oral doses of 50 mg/kg for 10 consecutive days, and during this period with one or three repeated doses of the potent hepatotoxin, aflatoxin $B_1$. The hepatoprotective effects of the allylthiopyridazine derivatives against aflatoxin $B_1$ (1 mg/kg, three times at intervals of 3 days, i.p., or at 3 mg/kg, once at final days, i.p.) administration were showed the significantly normal as compared with control in body and liver weights. Aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase levels were markedly elevated after aflatoxin $B_1$ administration, and pretreatment with allylthiopyridazine derivatives, before aflatoxin $B_1$ administration, resulted in decreased levels of these enzymes. In addition, the allylthiopyridazine derivatives, K6 (3-methoxy-), K8 (3-chloro-), K16 (3-ethoxy-) and K17 (3-n-propoxy), induced elevated hepatic GSH levels. Four kinds of allylthiopyridazine derivatives investigated were effective against aflatoxin $B_1$ -induced hepatotoxicity.

The derivatives of spironaphthooxazine gause photoisomerization when they are illuminate with UV light. We investigated the photoisomerization of spironaphthooxazine derivatives for holographic memory. Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films contain amphiphile spironaphthooxazine derivatives which can be applied in molecular devices by a change of molecular level energy and a refractive index. In order to investigate the photoisomerization of spironaphthooxazine derivatives at the air/water energy and a refractive index. In order to investigate the photoisomerization of spironaphthooxazine derivatives at the air/water interfaces, spironaphthooxazine derivatives with side alkyl chains were synthesized. The films of the spironaphthooxazine derivatives were characterized by the measurement of UV/vis spectroscopy, Brewster Angle Microscopy (BAM) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). The monolayers of the spironaphthooxazine derivatives mixed with stearic acid were stable at the air/water interface and visualized by the measurement of BAM. The spironaphthooxazine derivative monolayers on the glass surface showed the maximum efficiency of diffraction as 0.99% by the measurement of holography.
This case study investigates the KIKO currency option that has been a social issue in recent years among developing countries, especially Korea, where the financial derivatives market is in a state of rapid growth. The forward transaction which becomes a basis of derivatives is intended to hedge risks that may be caused by a future change in asset prices. Although it originates from a simple form of agricultural transactions, there currently exists a variety of derivatives in more sophisticated forms. In the Korean agricultural industry, the need to use such derivatives is great, as there is a huge risk of price fluctuation in agricultural products due to frequent adverse weather. In addition, many developing countries with export-led industrial structures similar to Korea's, of necessity must resort to currency hedging as a method of reducing relevant risk. However, in most cases, the lack of understanding about financial derivatives results in an inappropriate application of these derivatives. The KIKO in this study represents such cases. Since 2007, KIKO has been sold in Korea to many small- and medium-sized export companies for the purpose of currency hedging when the exchange rate between the Korean won and the U.S. dollar was in a downward spiral. The main focus of this study is a case which is most representative of KIKO. As inflation rapidly increased during the financial crisis in the U.S. at the end of 2007, derivatives became a hot issue in the courts rather than in the financial markets. This case study investigates what KIKO and the fierce legal debates over it imply, from the perspective of the option of value evaluation in order to suggest not only a direction in which companies can utilize financial derivatives, but also a roadmap for the future derivatives market.

1,4-Naphthoquinones are widely distributed in nature and many clinically important antitumor drugs containing a quinone moiety, such as anthracyclines, mitoxantrones and saintopin, show excellent anticancer activity. In this study, 2- or 6-substituted 5,8-dimethoxy-1,4-naphthoquinone (DMNQ) and 5,8-dihydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone (DHNQ) derivatives were synthesized, and their cytotoxic activity against L1210 and P388 cancer cells was examined. Their antitumor activity was also assessed in mice bearing S-180 cells in the peritoneal cavity. In comparison with the DMNQ derivatives, the DHNQ derivatives exhibited more potent bioactivities than the DMNQ derivatives against both L1210 and P388 cells in vitro and S-180 cells in vivo. The $ED_{50}$ values of the DHNQ derivatives against P388 cells were in the range of 0.18-1.81 ${\mu}g/mL$ whereas those of the DMNQ derivatives were in the range of 0.26-40.41 ${\mu}g/mL$. The T/C ($\%$) values of the DHNQ derivatives, 8, 17, 18, 19, and 20, were found to be comparable to or even better than that of adriamycin. It was also observed that the 2-substituted derivatives (8, 19, 20) showed better antitumor activity than the 6-substituted derivatives (7, 17, 18) in the mice bearing S-180 cells in the peritoneal cavity.
Pyrazole, hydroxyimino, aldehyde and isoxazole derivatives exhibit a broad spectrum of biological activities such as antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antitumor activities. With growing application on their synthesis and bioactivity, chemists and biologists in recent years have considerable attention on the research of these derivatives. In the view of potential importance of these derivatives, we have crystallized few of the derivatives and its report has been published. The present study focuses on docking studies of these derivatives against Phospholipases $A_2$ enzyme. This enzymes has implicated as potential targets for anti-inflammatory drug design. co-crystal structure (PDB ID: 1POE) of $PLA_2$ deposited in Protein Data Bank has been retrieved for docking analysis. Docking studies using Schrodinger's GLIDE reveals that these derivatives shows better binding energy and score in the defined active site. These results may provide a guiding role to design a lead molecule which may reduce inflamation.
The purpose of this paper is to find how to determine the controllability and stability derivatives form flight test and to display the stability of the Twinbee aircraft. There are various methods developed to find the derivatives : wind tunnel testing, predicted result from empirical data, flight test and so on. Among those methods, the estimation form flight test of real aricraft is the most reliable. We performed the flight test of Twinbee and recorded the states of aorcraft. Using those states and parameter setimation algorithem based on the Maximum Likdlihood(MMLE) criterion, we can estimate the controllability and stability derivatives. In this paper, wel will show the process form designing the proper flight test input to estimation of derivatives.
