In 1957, the first magnetic disk drive compatible with a movable head was introduced as an external file memory device for computer system. Since then, magnetic disks have been improved by increasing the recording density, which has brought about the development of a high performance thin film magnetic head. The thin film magnetic head has a magnetic circuit on a ceramic substrate using IC technology. The physical property of the substrate material is very important because it influences the tribology of head/disk interface and also manufacturing process of the head. $Al_{2}O_{3}$-TiC ceramics, so called ALTIC, is known to be one of the best substrate materials which satisfies this property requirement. Even though the head is not in direct contact with the disk, frequent instantaneous contacts are unavoidable due to its high rotating speed and the close gap between them. This may cause damage in the magnetic recording media and, thus, it is very important that the magnetic head has a good wear resistance. $Al_{2}O_{3}$-TiC ceramics has an excellent tribological property in head/disk interface. Manufacturing process of thin film head is similar to that of IC, which requires extremely smooth and flat surface of the substrate. The substrate must be readily sliced into the heads without chipping. $Al_{2}O_{3}$-TiC ceramics has excellent machineability and mechanical properties. $Al_{2}O_{3}$-TiC ceramics was first developed at Nippon Tungsten Co. as cutting tool materials in 1968, which was further developed to be used as the substrate materials for thin film head in collaboration with Sumitomo Special Metals Co., Ltd. in 1981. Today, we supply more than 60% of the substrates for thin film head market in the world. In this paper, we would like to present the sintering process of $Al_{2}O_{3}$-TiC ceramics and its property in detail.
Monte-Carlo radiative models of the diffuse Galactic light (DGL) in our Galaxy are calculated using the dust radiative transfer code MoCafe, which is three-dimensional and takes full account of multiple scattering. The code is recently updated to use a fast voxel traversal algorithm, which has dramatically increased the computing speed. The radiative transfer models are calculated with the generally accepted dust scale-height of 0.1 kpc. The stellar scale-heights are assumed to be 0.1 or 0.35 kpc, appropriate for far-ultraviolet (FUV) and optical wavelengths, respectively. The face-on optical depth, measured perpendicular to the Galactic plane, is also varied from 0.2 to 0.6, suitable to the optical to FUV wavelengths, respectively. We find that the DGL at high Galactic latitudes is mostly due to backward or large-angle scattering of starlight originating from the local stars within a radial distance of r < 0.5 kpc from the Earth. On the other hand, the DGL measured in the Galactic plane is mostly due to stars at a distance range that corresponds to an optical depth of $${\sim_\sim}$$ 1 measured from the Earth. Therefore, the low-latitude DGL at the FUV wavelength band would be mostly caused by the stars located at a distance of $r{\leq}0.5$ kpc and the optical DGL near the Galactic plane mainly originates from stars within a distance range of $1{\leq}r{\leq}2kpc$. We also calculate the radiative transfer models in a clumpy two-phase medium. The clumpy two-phase models provide lower intensities at high Galactic latitudes compared to the uniform density models, because of the lower effective optical depth in clumpy media. However, no significant difference in the intensity at the Galactic plane is found.
This paper has presented a few problems when the 2D video superimposed the overlay text was converted to the 3D stereoscopic video. To resolve the problems, it proposes the scenario which the original video is divided into two parts, one is the video only with overlay text graphic region and the other is the video with holes, and then processed respectively. And this paper focuses on research only to detect and extract the overlay text graphic region, which is a first step among the processes in the proposed scenario. To decide whether the overlay text is included or not within a frame, it is used the corner density map based on the Harris corner detector. Following that, the overlay text region is extracted using the hybrid method of color and motion information of the overlay text region. The experiment shows the results of the overlay text region detection and extraction process in a few genre video sequence.

The Flash memory market: is an exciting market that has quickly over the last 10 years. Recently Flash memory provides a high-density. truly non-volatile, high performance read write memory solutions, also is characterized by low power consumption, extreme ruggedness and high reliability. Flash memory is an optimum solution for large nonvolitilc storage operations such as solid file storage, digital video recorder, digital still camera, The MP3 player and other portable multimedia communication applications requiring non-volatility. Regardless of the type of Flash memory, Flash media management software is always required to manage the larger Flash memory block partitions. This is true, since Flash memory cannot be erased on the byte level common to memory, but must be erased on a block granularity. The management of a Flash memory manager requires a keen understanding of a Flash technology and data management methods. Though Flash memory's write performance is relatively slow, the suggested algorithm offers a higher maximum write performance. Algorithms so far developed is not suitable for applications which is requiring more fast and frequent accesses. But, the proposed algorithm is focused on the justifiable operation even in the circumstance of fast and frequent accesses.

We have studied the interfacial diffusion phenomena and the role of ${\alpha}-Al_2O_3$ buffer layer as a diffusion barrier in the $Ba-ferrite/SiO_2$ magnetic thin films for high-density recording media. In the interface of amorphous Ba-ferrite ($1900-{\AA}-thick)/SiO_2$ thin film during annealing, the interfacial diffusion started to occur at ${\sim}700^{\circ}C$. As the annealing temperature increased up to $800^{\circ}C$, the interfacial diffusion abruptly proceeded resulting in the high interface roughness and the deterioration of the magnetic properties. In order to control the interfacial diffusion at the high temperature, we introduced ${\alpha}-Al_2O_3$ buffer layer ($110-{\AA}-thick$) in the interface of $Ba-ferrite/SiO_2$ thin film. During the annealing of $Ba-ferrite/{\alpha}-Al_2O_3/SiO_2$ thin film even at ${\sim}800^{\circ}C$, the interface was very smooth. The smooth interface of the film was also clearly shown by the cross-sectional FESEM. The magnetic properties, such as saturation magnetization 3nd intrinsic coercivity, were also enhanced, due to the inhibition of interfacial diffusion by the ${\alpha}-Al_2O_3$ buffer layer. Our study suggests that the ${\alpha}-Al_2O_3$ buffer layer act as a useful interfacial diffusion barrier in the $Ba-ferrite/SiO_2$ thin films.
CoPtCr magnetic layer was fabricated on the Cr underlayer by RF magnetron sputtering and the protective $SiO_2$ layer was deposited at room temperature. As the thickness of Cr underlayer increased, the coercive force of magnetic layer increased, then saturated slightly further increasing Cr underlayer thickness. Maximum coercive force was 860 Oe. It is thought that in-plane arrangement of magnetic phase and magnetic decoupling between the magnetic crystallites could lead to the increase of the coercive force. Post-annealing raised the coercive force exceedingly. and maximum coercive force value was 1650 Oe which was acquired from the sample annealed at 55$0^{\circ}C$ for 1hr.

In digital era image processing has been utilized in a variety of media such as TV, camera and smart phone. However, in the process of analyzing, recognizing, and processing image data, deterioration occurs due to various causes and Salt & Pepper noise occurs. Typical methods for removing such noise include SMF, CWMF, and SWMF. However, existing methods have a somewhat poor noise canceling characteristic in Salt & Pepper noise environment. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an algorithm to remove Salt & Pepper noise effectively by using bilinear interpolation method and median filter according to noise density of local mask. And using the PSNR(Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) it compared to the existing methods and their performance in order to determine the performance of the proposed method.
Hydroponic culture has been developed to control soilborn diseases, to increase yield and to enhance the quality of vegetable, The pathogen could be detected from infected plant materials, hydroponic tanks, culture solution and solid media of the severely infected greenhouse, The density of pathogen population was coincided with the severity of disease incidence, For example, 1,900cfu m$L^{-1}$ pf pathogens were counted from tomato plants sampled in a 20% diseased greenhouse. The pathogens may be introduced in the greenhouse through the contaminated soil surrounding the house and/or through the infected young seedlings grown on the nursery soil. Also, not detected to Ralstonia solanacearum from tomato seeds (House Momotaro, Bbaebbae, Ggoggo, and Minicarol cultivar) selling at a market.
$Zr_2WP_2O_{12}$ powder, which has a negative thermal expansion coefficient, was synthesized by a solid-state reaction with $ZrO_2$, $WO_3$ and $NH_4H_2PO_4$ as the starting materials. The synthesis behavior was dependent on the solvent media used in the wet mixing process. The $Zr_2WP_2O_{12}$ powder prepared with a solvent consisting of D. I. water was fully crystallized at $1200^{\circ}C$, showing a sub-micron particle size. According to the results obtained from a thermal analysis, a $ZrP_2O_7$ was synthesized at a low temperature of $310^{\circ}C$, after which it was reacted with $WO_3$ at $1200^{\circ}C$. A new sintering additive, $Al(OH)_3$, was applied for the densification of the $Zr_2WP_2O_{12}$ powders. The cold isostatically pressed samples were densified with 1 wt% $Al(OH)_3$ additive or more at $1200^{\circ}C$ for 4 h. The main densification mechanism was liquid-phase sintering due to the liquid which resulted from the reaction with amorphous or unstable $Al_2O_3$ and $WO_3$. The densified $Zr_2WP_2O_{12}$ ceramics showed a relative density of 90% and a negative thermal expansion coefficient of $-3.4{\times}10^{-6}/^{\circ}C$. When using ${\alpha}-Al_2O_3$ as the sintering agent, densification was not observed at $1200^{\circ}C$.
