This study was conducted to empirically verify the factors that affect work-life balance according to the age of social workers. The subjects of the study were social workers working at social welfare centers, welfare centers for the disabled, and welfare centers for the elderly located in Jeollabuk-do, and 313 copies of 42 facilities that participated in the survey were used for the final analysis. The research method used a multi-level model that calculated individual factors (Level 1) and institutional factors (Level 2). The main research results are as follows. First, 20.2% of the total variance in the work-life balance of social workers was found to be different for each local welfare center. Second, as a result of examining the factors affecting work-life balance of social workers by age, it was found that job demands had a negative effect on work-life balance in all age groups. In particular, in their 30s, family demands and women's work-life balance were more negative than men's, and economic status was found to be an important influencing factor on work-life balance. Based on these results, we discussed ways to improve work-life balance for social workers.
This study was conducted focusing on the innovative behavior necessary for the long-term survival of an organization in a business environment in which uncertainty and complexity are increasing. To this end, the relationship between issue leadership and innovative behavior of organizational members was investigated from the perspective of Signaling theory, Path-Goal theory and Job Demands-Resources theory. In addition, the mediating role of learning agility and sub-components of learning agility was empirically analyzed. For empirical analysis, a survey was conducted with a total of 252 team leaders and team members working in multinational companies (142 in Korea, 110 in the US). The results of this study are as follows. Issue leadership was analyzed to have a positive (+) effect on the innovative behavior of employees. Learning agility was found to play a mediating role between issue leadership and innovative behavior. On the other hand, the mediating effect was tested for each of the sub-components of learning agility, such as feedback seeking, information seeking, reflecting, experimenting, agility. As a result, all five sub-components were found to play a mediating role between issue leadership and innovative behavior. In particular, it was analyzed that the mediating effect of agility was the largest. Next, information seeking appeared to be large. Although there are some studies that have identified the mediating role of learning agility between issue leadership and innovative behavior, this study is considered to have academic implication as there are few cases of subdivided study. At the practical level, it is expected to provide implications for where to focus more when trying to improve an organization's learning agility and innovation behavior
The purpose of this research is to assess the need for wedding etiquette training for couples in order to provide basic educational materials for brides and grooms-to-be. This survey consisted of 43 questions. The questions pertaining to the need for wedding etiquette training were measured using the 5-point Likert scale. The survey was conducted between September 1st, 2011 and December 1st, 2011. The research subjects consisted of 230 brides and grooms-to-be. Questionnaires were analyzed by frequency analysis, F-test, t-test, and correlation analysis using SPSS/win17.0. Based on our findings, we would like to make the following proposals and conclusions. First, as the importance of a wedding education program could be ascertained, educational demands need to be gathered and applied to the operation of such programs. The education and training programs need to be activated by wedding preparation education centers or the Health and Family Support Center, on weekends or week nights 3 months prior to a couple's wedding ceremony. Second, wedding etiquette training content needs to be included in existing education programs that primarily focus on helping couples adapt to married life. Such training content should specifically include the etiquette of exchanging wedding presents, home life etiquette, etiquette for the formal meeting between the families of the bride and bridegroom, pyebaek etiquette and ham (a box of wedding gifts sent by a bridegroom to his bride before the wedding) etiquette. Third, when examining the particulars of the need for wedding etiquette training, we came to the conclusion that couples should be properly educated about the meaning and value of the wedding presents, pyebaek and ham that are required during traditional wedding ceremonies. Fourth, the need for wedding etiquette training was shown to be higher for women than for men. It was also higher for individuals in specialized fields than for ordinary company employees. Wedding etiquette training programs need to be structured with such considerations in mind. Fifth, when structuring the program for wedding etiquette training, the correlation of the needs for training should be considered. It is necessary to prepare training plans by dividing the program into the following categories: the formal meeting between the families of the bride and the bridegroom, ham and wedding presents, wedding ceremony etiquette, pyebaek, and home life etiquette training.
Our society is the information-oriented knowledge society which demands the ability how to use computers to all members of the society and is the aging society which the old people 60 or older exist plentifully. But in our society, there are rarely the computers for the old people which are considered their body limit. In this research, we proposed a grip type Hangul(Korean alphabet)interface which are designed under the consideration for the body limit of the old people. The comparison analysis of the proposed Hangul interface is accomplished with the keyboard(ME TOO SV01) for old persons and the key buttons of the old person cellular phone(LG KV-3900) as existing products. The comparison analysis consists of quantitative evaluation as measurements and qualitative evaluation as a survey of the satisfaction levels of 10 older persons. The results of the quantitative evaluation show that the proposed Hangul interface is the best one in the human-technology-design, the number of input buttons which requires moving of user's fingers, the maximum range of moving of user's fingers, and the number of the fingers to use text inputs. The survey results of the satisfaction levels show that interface shape, and input button's positions have best levels and they show that input button's gaps and ease of use have the second levels but their points are almost same with the best points of the keyboard.
The need for improvement is raised due to limitations with environmental impact assessment, and the importance for data-based environmental impact assessment is increasing. In this study, data demand was derived by analyzing Agreed Terms and Conditions in the Water Environment field (Water Quality, Hydraulic & Hydrologic Conditions, and Marine Environment) of environmental impact assessment. Agreed Terms and Conditions on environmental impact assessment in the water environment field were classified and categorized by environmental impact assessment stage (addition to status survey, impact prediction and evaluation, establishment of reduction measures, post-environmental impact survey), and data demand for each type of consultation opinion was linked. As a result of the categorization of Agreed Terms and Conditions, it was classified into 18 types in the water quality, 15 types in the hydraulic & hydrologic conditions, and 17 types in the marine environment. As a result of linking data demand, the total number of data demand was 236 in the water quality, 98 in the hydraulic & hydrologic conditions, and 73 in the marine environment. The highest number of Agreed Terms and Conditions and data demands were found in the water quality for the evaluation item and establishment of reduction measures, specifically establishment of non-point source pollution reduction measures, for the stage. The numbers were judged to be linked to the relative importance of the items and the primary purpose of environmental impact assessment. The derivation of data demand through the analysis of Agreed Terms and Conditions in the environmental impact assessment can contribute to the advancement of the preparation of environmental impact assessment reports and is expected to increase data utilization by various decision-makers by establishing a systematic database.
This paper reviews research outputs in Korea Journal of Population Studies (KJPS) and the changes in their contents during the period of 1977-2004. In the early years of KJPS, various types of outputs were published, but changes have been made into a direction that research articles compose the main context of the journal. As the journal published twice a year, the total number of articles of the journal shows a trend of marked rise. An analysis of the themes of articles shows that the trend of research in Korean demography has changed hand in hand with transformations of the Korean society. The traditional topics such as population policy, fertility, mortality, and migration were popular before. Labor force, nuptiality, family, aging, regional studies are found to be more popular themes of research recently. Reflecting academic and social demands, KJPS has a broaden range of authors, such as professor, researcher, a government employee, post-doc, and graduate students. The articles written by those working in universities have increased continuously, while research outputs of research institutes have decreased recently. The data for analysis used in articles are varied from but concentrated in some materials - census, vital statistics and various survey data. In early years of KJPS, relatively simple techniques of analysis were adopted in the majority of articles. However, more sophisticated techniques including applied regression analysis, logistic analysis and analysis of survival ratio turn out to be more popular recently. Finally, several suggestions for the future research are presented in this paper.
Background : Hospitals(Health care providers) are under tremendous pressure to meet consumer demands in order to compete in the rapidly changing health care arena. Through evaluating patient satisfaction, hospitals(health care providers) can learn what the consumer Wants from the health care system. Timely feedback is necessary. The purpose of this study is to evaluate patients' hospital experience and satisfaction using telephone interview and to study the usefulness for telephone interview at assessing patient satisfaction. Method : The 846 patients who were discharged from September 17, 1996 to October 11, 1996 were targeted were telephoned. The informations gathered telephone survey were processed by computer and analyzed for the patient satisfaction, contributing factors. Result : The 846 patients who were discharged from September 17, 1996 to October 11, 1996 were called and 197 patients(23.3%) were successful interviewed. 51.3 percent of respondents were male and mean age is 39 years mean LOS(length of stay) is 13 days and 110(56.1%) patients were admitted by outpatients clinic. The mean calling-time is 5.5 minutes. There is no significant difference between interviewers(telemarketer) in patients satisfaction. Seven telephone interviews are possible by interview a day. There in no significant difference between groups in patients satisfaction in length of stay, path of admission, the interval between discharge and interview. 97.5 percent of respondents were satisfied with telephone interview and 81.7% were satisfied with overall satisfaction and 79.4 % of respondents were good response in interviewers' conclusion. Of six variables that were found to be correlated with telephone interview and eight variables correlated with overall hospital satisfaction, a multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that two most important variables which are significantly correlated with telephone interview are to meet doctors, not ask tediously then three variables which are with overall satisfaction are doctors explain, subject response, convenient facilities. Conclusion : The patients interviewed are satisfied with telephone interview. Telephone interview is good method for assessing patient satisfaction, making high levels of patient satisfaction and for hospital marketing.
Objectives: This survey was performed to investigate attitudes of western medicine doctors (WMD) and Korean medicine doctors (KMD) toward Korean medicine education (KME) to provide basic data for developing effective KME programs. Methods: We selected study objects in western medicine (WM) - Korean medicine (KM) collaborative institutions and structured questionnaires were administered to both WMD and KMD for comparison. The data from 167 WMD and 135 KMD were analyzed statistically by frequency, ${\chi}^2$ test and T-test analysis. Results: 61.1% of WMD have never experienced KME and 15% were not interested in cooperative practices and research. Most KME was done in medical schools (45%) and only 5% in residency education. WMD interested or experienced in cooperation have had more KME than the uninterested and inexperienced groups. Intentions of WMD to cooperative practices and research made a difference on the willingness to take KME, while relevant experiences didn't. WMD and KMD differed in ideas about major KME topics; WMD put the greatest emphasis on the herb-drug interaction, while KMD did on KM diagnosis and treatment. They also have different views on the optimal KME course load. Conclusions: For successful collaboration, more continuing KME and motivation for cooperation is required for WMD. Improvements are also needed in the form and contents of KME to meet the demands of learners.
Objectives: The aims of this study were to analyze the job stress of clinical hygienists according to their positional system and to confirm its relevance. Methods: Seven hundred seventy six clinical dental hygienists participated in this survey. The questionnaire items consisted of general characteristics, working environment, and job stress. The data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS statistics ver.23.0 software. Results: Among the job stresses, the stress on the job demands was the highest with 63.4 points, and the stress on interpersonal conflict was the lowest with 34.6 points. The total score of job stress was the highest in the 26-30 year-old age group, and major stress factors in this group were job insecurity, organizational system, and lack of reward. Team members were more stressful about insufficient job control, organizational system, and lack of reward than team managers, while team managers were more likely to score interpersonal conflict. The dental hygienists in the hospitals that did not have the positional system got more stressed in the insufficient job control, organizational system, and lack of reward area. Conclusions: The presence of positional system was related to job demand, insufficient job control, organizational system, and lack of reward. Structural efforts such as establishing a proper positional system in dental clinics will be needed to control job stress in the clinical dental hygienists.

Purpose: Under a trend of hospitals that repeated expansion in line with fast increasing factors of medical demands in the past, medical buildings where clinic businesses have regularly gathered in one building have exponentially increased since separation of prescribing and dispensing in 2000. Thus, this study aims at analyzing characteristics of architectural plan of the current medical buildings, identifying strengths and weaknesses through Post Occupancy Evaluation and suggesting an architectural planning method of medical buildings to be planned in the future. Methods: Scope of study has been limited to 23 medical buildings that are registered in the building register as medical buildings out of the Class 1 neighborhood facilities build as 5 floors or more in Cheongju region since 2000 and being actually used for the usage. Study method is to define concepts of the medical buildings through literature review and advanced researches, analyze characteristics of architectural plan through drawing analysis and site survey. Results: General characteristics of architectural plans for the medical buildings in Cheongju have been analyzed. There are the most frequencies in general commercial area and semi-residential area, most of them are reinforced concrete structure and the Class 1 neighborhood facilities. Average land area is $482.68m^2$, gross floor area $3720.8m^2$, the number of underground floors level 1.16, the number of floors level 7.76, total number of floors 8.92, the building-to-land ratio 67.28%, floor area ratio 452.6%, height 31.44m, and the number of parked vehicles 24.16. Implications: This research will contribute to the establishment of the planning methods which increase the quality of Medical Buildings in Cheongju.
