A study on the characteristics of high power factor AC/DC converter with Feedforward control (Feedforward 제어에 의한 고역률 AC/DC 컨버터의 톡성분석)

  • Conventional Switched Mode Power Supplies(SMPS) with diode-capacitor rectifier have distorted input current waveform with high harmonic content. Typically, these SMPS have a power factor lower than 0.65. To improve with this problem. the power factor correction(PFC) circuit of power supplies has to be introduced. Specially, to reduce size and manufacture cost of power conversion device, the single-stage PFC converter is increased to demand as necessary of study. In this case single-stage PFC converter has been used DC-DC converter with boost converter. However in this paper, it is studied flyback converter of high power factor, high efficiency by feedforward control. Also, the validity of designed and manufactured high power factor flyback converter is confirmed by simulation and experimental results.

  • To cope with increasing power demand in metropolitan area, the power system in Korea has equipped with unit generator of large capacity, high density and uneven distribution, and transmission line of long distance, large capacity and high voltage. As the power system growing up enormous, it has become difficult to maintain the standard voltage in case of radical fluctuation of load or severe change of voltage by power system fault for its weakness of responsive characteristics although the power condenser has been installed to solve the unstability by lack of reactive power. Consequently, we review harmonic wave production and control characteristics to solve unstability problem of voltage in northern metropolitan, to reduce transmission restriction cost and to minimize load shedding by relocation of SVC (Static Var Compensator), which is highly effective for improvement of responsive characteristics for radical voltage fluctuation.

  • Recently, a demand of the digital dimmer system is increasing steadily, but domestic research is not sufficient to the expectation. In this paper, a digital dimmer equipment is developed and resented to compose a system. Digital dimmer system compose console and dimmer rack. Console controls of user interface and a total system, and dimmer rack controls brightness of lighting equipment by a way of phase angle control with each illumination level to get from console.

  • In this paper, The characteristic of Harmonic spectrum is studied for generally used three-phase diode rectifier. and filter design criteria is showen in the sense of THD, DPF, and PF. As the becoming of Automative and informative era, the demand of critical and stable control becomes more and more important. But much EMI emissions are generated for more critical and stable control in power electronic system these EMI emissions can be measured using LISN(Line Impedance Stabilization Network). So we are to investigate the behavior of Conducted EMI emission in Diode Rectifiers using LISN in frequency domain.

  • Various controllers such as proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controllers have been designed and optimized for load-following issues in nuclear reactors. To achieve high performance, gain tuning is of great importance in PID controllers. In this work, gains of a PID controller are optimized for power-level control of a typical pressurized water reactor using particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. The point kinetic is used as a reactor power model. In PSO, the objective (cost) function defined by decision variables including overshoot, settling time, and stabilization time (stability condition) must be minimized (optimized). Stability condition is guaranteed by Lyapunov synthesis. The simulation results demonstrated good stability and high performance of the closed-loop PSO-PID controller to response power demand.

  • There are not only lots of controllers such as UMC(Unit Master Controller), BMC(Boiler Master Controller), Fuel Flow controller, Air flow controller, Feed water flow controller, S/H R/H Temperature controller and so on, but also compensation controller such as BTU compensator, Fuel/Water ratio controller and O2 Co controller to take automatic control in the super critical once through boiler. It is important to make complete automation of boiler to use the compensation controller like BTU compensator. For example, In case of some boiler condition, operator has to change combustion parameter for changing the coal, on the contrary BTU compensator can calculate set value of the fuel flow and reset the fuel flow demand by itself. This paper shows us the logic and instruction regarding compensation controller of boiler that can be operated automatically.

  • In this paper, the authors present a row dynamic route planning by Q-learning. The proposed algorithm is executed in a cellular automation based traffic simulator, which is also newly created. In Vehicle Information and Communication System(VICS), which is an active field of Intelligent Transport System(ITS), information of traffic congestion is sent to each vehicle at real time. However, a centralized navigation system is not realistic to guide millions of vehicles in a megalopolis. Autonomous distributed systems should be more flexible and scalable, and also have a chance to focus on each vehicles demand. In such systems, each vehicle can search an own optimal route. We employ Q-learning of the reinforcement learning method to search an optimal or sub-optimal route, in which route drivers can avoid traffic congestions.   • Recently, the demand for smart farms is increasing due to the increase in the cultivation area such as horticulture, fruit trees and special crops. However, due to the irregular weather changes and the cultivation method of the crops due to the different cultivation environment, there are frequent occurrence of diseases and insect pests and infectious diseases due to system error or carelessness, and the cycle is also very short. In addition, the Smart Farm business has been built by combining various sensors (temperature, humidity, CO2, illumination) and LED lighting, but it is costly in terms of frequent errors, lack of power supply, And thus the management can not be efficiently managed. Therefore, this paper combines real time sensing technology based on IoT Platform and high performance control technology to control pests and equipment errors and monitor the growth status of crops in real time based on big data analysis and Artificial Intelligence System.

Probabilistic seismic demand of isolated straight concrete girder highway bridges using fragility functions

  • In this study, it has been tried to prepare an analytical fragility curves for isolated straight continues highway bridges by considering different spectral intensity measures. A three-span concrete isolated bridge has been selected and the seismic performance of the bridge has been improved by Lead Rubber Bearing (LRB). Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA) is applied to the bridge in longitudinal direction. A suite of 14 earthquake ground motions from medium to sever motions are scaled and used for nonlinear time history analysis. Fragility function considers the relationship of earthquake intensity measures (IM) and probability of exceeding certain Damage State (DS). A full three dimensional finite element model of the isolated bridge has been developed and analyzed. A wide range of different intensity measures are selected and the optimal intensity measure which has the less dispersion is proposed.

  • Due to the recent overpopulation of urban cities, land shortage and soaring land prices have caused an increase in the demand for high-rise buildings. To build buildings on a limited land, the size of the building is important. Displacement control by horizontal loads in a skyscraper is critical to securing stability and usability of structures. Several systems have been proposed for efficient horizontal displacement control, and so far the study continues. Among them, the Outrigger System is a representative of the typical horizontal load resistance system. Although studies have been conducted so far to locate the optimal position of the outrigger, studies of the slenderness ratio of the buildings are still insufficient. Based on the Outrigger-Optimized Position equation, this study induces the calculation of the displacement of the outrigger installation building according to the slenderness ratio.
