A Study on Acoustic Radiation Optimization of Vibrating Panel Using Genetic Algorithm (유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 판넬구조물의 구조음향 최적화에 관한 연구)

  • Globally, customer appreciation and demand for quieter products has driven noise control engineers to develop efficient and quieter products in a relatively short time. In the vehicles and ship industry, noise has become an important attribute because of the competitive market and increasing customer awareness. Noise reduction is often achieved through structural modifications by typical approaches. In the present paper, author describes a fundamental study on optimum design of curvature. Bezier curve. and rib attachment to reduce noise from simple panel using a genetic algorithm(GA). The acoustic optimization procedure employed p-FEM for structural analysis, the Rayleigh integral method for acoustic analysis and the GA for searching optimum design. In the optimization procedure. the objective function to be minimized is the average sound power radiated from an objective structure over a given frequency range $0{\sim}300$ Hz.

  • Recently, the demand of UPS is increasing. This paper uses the instantaneous current control method with the predicative load current and the compensation to improve the characteristic response of UPS and reduce THD of the output voltage. With the computer simulation, it is verified the availability of the proposed method.

  • Conventional Switched Mode Power Supplies(SMPS) with diode-capacitor rectifier have distorted input current waveform with high harmonic content. Typically, these SMPS have a power factor lower than 0,65. To improve with this problem the power factor correction(PFC) circuit of power supplies has to be introduced. Specially. to the reduce size and manufacture cost of power conversion device, the single-stage PFC converter is increased to demand as necessary of study. in this paper, The comparative analysis of power factor correction circuit using Feedforward control with average current mode flyback converter(single-stage) and boost converter(two-stage). Also, the validity of designed and manufactured high power factor flyback converter and boost converter is confirmed by simulation and experimental results.

  • IGCTs have established themselves as the power semiconductor of choice at medium voltage levels within the last few years because of their low conduction and switching losses. The trade-off between these losses can be adjusted by various lifetime control techniques and the growing demand for these devices is driving the need for standard types to cover such applications as Static Circuit Breakers (low on-state) and Medium Voltage Drives (low switching losses). The additional demands of Traction (low operating temperatures) and Current Source Inverters (symmetric blocking) would normally result in conflicting demands on the semiconductor. This paper will outline how a range of power devices can meet these needs with a limited number of wafers and gate units. Some of the key differences between IGCTs and IGBTs will be explained and the outlook for device improvements will be discussed.

  • Orthodontists want why the patients want orthodontic treatment. Demand and need for orthodontics is very important factors of cooperation and management. Chief complaint would be different according to the race and culture. Our results show that in the control group, Korean female adolescents[chief complaint is cowding$(30.6\%)$, spacing$(26.5\%)$, upper anterior protrusion$(18.4\%)$, anterior cross bite$(8.2\%)$ in order. Korean female adolescents considered anterior cross bite is more nonacceptable than spaeing and anterior protrusion. The purpose of orthodontics seemed to enhance esthetic, dental health, and to improve oral function.

  • In the shortest period of time, we achieved both industrialization and democratization. We also achieved good performance in health care sector. Whole population are covered by health insurance since 1989 and health outcomes, such as infant mortality, life expectance show good level. However, health care system has several problems, rapidly increasing rate of health care expenditure, dissatisfaction of both consumers and suppliers. Current health care system does not reconcile with market competition principle. Causes of these problems originated from 1977 paradigm which was formed to expand health insurance to whole population within short period. Dominant assumption of 1977 paradigm is to assure equitable access of health care by government's command and control. We urgently demand to reform the 1977 paradigm to suitable in 21th century. Our economy entered into a road to advancement. We have concerns how President Lee's administration reform health care system to harmonize with economic development and to achieve advancement in health care sector.

  • Indoor localization is getting more and more importance with the increasing demand for location based service. Location based service necessarily requires the information about customers' locations to provide them the right service according to their changing locations. To satisfy that requirement, GPS is used to achieve outdoor localization. However, there is no leading technology to achieve indoor localization. Indoor localization through UWB wave and TDOA algorithm is considered as the most accurate method until now. In implementing that method, configuration of base stations that serve as control points affects the localization accuracy. Thus, this paper discusses about optimal configuration of base stations. The variation in localization accuracy according to spatial relationship between an object and base stations Is mentioned through SEP also.

  • A new actuating mechanism suitable for a micro positioning device is developed using piezo-electric elements. The actuator can make a step movement of 0.5 .mu. m up to 3.5 .mu. m. The step size can be adjusted on demand. By repeating this step action, long distance movement is achieved. Precise positioning can be obtained by combining the coarse motion with the maximum step size and fine motion. Two types of fine motion have been proposed for a driving method. Firstly, feedback control bases on PID is applied. The experimental results for the two method are presented.

  • The deterioration of dimensional accuracy, caused by springback, is one of problems to always occur in sheet metal forming processes. As the demand for lighter and stronger metals increases, the development of improved forming processes settling the springback problem becomes more important. In this work, springback phenomena are investigated which occur in the press forming process with the anisotropic sheet metal and axisymmetric tools. The improvement possibility of dimensional accuracies, mainly, flatness, will be examined by applying blank holding forces as a method of springback control.

  • Nowadays, subminiature lens actuators are being developed with the demand of AF lens for high performance of the mobile phone camera. Though the VCM is the current, development of new types of actuators are needed due to the structural problem and etc.. A new type of actuator for AF lens using Dielectric Elastomer Electroactive Polymer(EAP) is proposed in this paper, DE EAP has advantages in its weight, ease of fabrication and low power consumption. The mathematical model is obtained by Hamilton's principle and verified by finite element analysis and experiments. The controller is designed and evaluated by experiments.
