  • This paper deals with the application of a Generalized Predictive Control (CPC) to a Pressurized Water Reactor (P.W.R) Nuclear Power Plant. Generalized Predictive Control is a sort of Explicit Self-Tuning Control. Current self-tuning algorithms lack robustness to prior choices of either dead-time (input time delay of a plant) or model order. GPC is shown by simulation studies to be superior to accepted self-tuning techniques such as minimum variance and pole-placement from the viewpoint that it is robust to prior choices of dead-time or model order. In this paper a GPC controller is designed to control the P.W.R. nuclear power rlant with varying dead-time and through the designing procedure the designer is free from the constraint of knowing the exact dead-time. The controller is constructed based on the 2nd order linear model approximated in the vicinity of operating point. To ensure that this low-order model describes the complex real dynamics well enough for control purposes, model parameters are updated on-line with a Recursive Least Squares algorithm. Simulation results are successful and show the possibilities of the GPC control application to actual plants with varying or unknown dead-time.

  • Finding solutions for the disabled is a major challenge for our society. In the case of a disability due to a malfunction of the nervous system, the origin may be accidental, genetic, or induced by environmental factors. This type of loss can cause loss or movement disorders (paraplegia, hemiplegia, quadriplegia, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, etc.) or malfunction of certain sensory functions (blindness, deafness, chronic pain, etc.). Many alternatives, more technology, have been imported to create interfaces between the human body and an artificial prosthesis in order to restore some functions of the human body. A wireless system, battery neurons probe was developed for one hand reading neural signals in the brain, and on the other hand also able to excite the neuron in the brain using a surface acoustic wave one ports (SAW) delay line reflection.

  • Chromosome 11q13 deletion syndrome has been previously reported as either otodental syndrome or oculo-oto-dental syndrome. The otodental syndrome is characterized by dental abnormalities and high-frequency sensorineural hearing loss, and by ocular coloboma in some cases. The underlying genetic defect causing otodental syndrome is a hemizygous microdeletion involving the FGF3 gene on chromosome 11q13.3. Recently, a new form of severe deafness, microtia (small ear) and small teeth, without the appearance of eye abnormalities, was also reported. In this report, we describe a 1-year-old girl presenting with ptosis of the left upper eyelid, right auricular deformity, high-arched palate, delayed dentition, simian line on the right hand, microcephaly, and developmental delay. In this patient, we identified a deletion in the chromosome 11q13.2-q13.3 (2.75 Mb) region by using an array-comparative genomic hybridization analysis. The deletion in chromosome 11q13 results in a syndrome characterized by variable clinical manifestations. Some of these manifestations involve craniofacial dysmorphology and require a functional workup for hearing, ophthalmic examinations, and long-term dental care.

  • This paper is studied the high-repetition rate optical-pulse stream generation using optical loop mirror coupler. With the recent development of the ultrahigh-speed optical time division multiplexed system, hish-repetition rate optical-pulse stream generation is necessary. This is different from conventional approaches, which use fiber or integrated waveguide delay line circuits. The high-repetition-rate optical-pulse multiplication phenomenon occurs when the optical pulse's spectral width is greater than the transfer bandwidth of the coupler used. From the analysis, the output repetition rate can be controlled by using fiber couplers with different equivalent transfer bandwidths. The pulse separation spacing is controlled by number of cascaded coupler in optical loop mirror coupler scheme.

  • An Image-Based Target Tracker maintains LOS(Line Of Sight) to a target by controlling azimuth and elevation gimbals of an ISS(Inertially Stabilized System). Its controller produces the gimbals commands of the ISS using tracking errors provided by an image tracker. The control performance of the target tracker with PI controller generally used for tracking controller is limited because of bandwidth limitation by time delay yielded by image capture and processing of the image tracker. In this paper, tracking controller using target states estimator is proposed which can enhance the tracking performance under the highly dynamic maneuvering conditions of the ISS and the target. Simulation results show that the proposed method can improve the tracking performance than that with only PI controller.

  • An intelligent speed control system for marine diesel engines is presented. The approach adopt¬ed is to use a conventional PID controller for normal operation and a feedforward controller for adaptive control. The feedforward controller is a neural network. The neural network is the inverse dynamics model of the plant, which is being trained on line. The parametric model of the diesel engine is represented in a linear second-order system, with a first-order combustion part and a revolution part each at a normal operating point. The time delay in the control of the com¬bustion part is approximated to the first-order system. The tuned PID parameters are set based on the model for normal operating point. To obtain the inverse dynamics of the diesel engine system, two neural networks are used, one for inverse, the other for forward dynamics. The former is posi¬tioned across the plant to learn its inverse dynamics during operation, and the latter is placed in series with the controlled plant. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the applicability of the proposed scheme to intelligent adaptive control of diesel engines.

  • We have developed and commercialize a time-of-flight - medium energy ion scattering spectrometry (TOF-MEIS) system (model MEIS-K120). MEIS-K120 adapted a large solid acceptance angle detector that results in high collection efficiency, minimized ion beam damage while maintaining a similar energy resolution. In addition, TOF analyzer regards neutrals same to ions which removes the ion neutralization problems in absolute quantitative analysis. A TOF-MEIS system achieves $7{\times}10^{-3}$ energy resolution by utilizing a pulsed ion beam with a pulse width 350 ps and a TOF delay-line-detector with a time resolution of about 85 ps. TOF-MEIS spectra were obtained using 100 keV $He^+$ ions with an ion beam diameter of $10{\mu}m$ with ion dose $1{\times}10^{16}$ in ordinary experimental condition. Among TOF-MEIS applications, we report the quantitative compositional profiling of 3~5 nm CdSe/ZnS QDs, As depth profile and substitutional As ratio of As implanted/annealed Si, Ionic Critical Dimension (CD) for FinFET, Direct Recoil (DR) analysis of hydrogen in diamond like carbon (DLC) and InxGayZnzOn on glass substrate.

  • New emerging wireless broadband internet can make many broadband multimedia services. The networked intelligent mobile robot service is one of the new services. In the networked robot control, both the on-line real-time control and the reliability of control data transmission are very important. Considering the real-time control and data reliability, an efficient transmission method based on UDP protocol is proposed. The proposed method allocates the priority to the robot control data and the transmission of the robot data at the base station is carried out in duplicate manner. NS-2 simulation results show that the proposed scheme has a very low packet delay and low packet errors.

  • VoIP service uses packet network of ip-based because that has eavesdropping, interception, illegal user as vulnerable elements. In addition, PSTN of existing telephone network is subordinate line but VoIP service using the ip packet provide mobility. so The user authentication and VoIP user's account service using VoIP has emerged as a problem. To solve the vulnerability of SIP, when you use VoIP services with SIP, this paper has made it possible to authenticate user's terminal by using proxy server and proxy server by using authentication server. In conclusion, sender and receiver are mutually authenticated. In the mutual authentication process, the new session key is distributed after exchanging for the key between sender and receiver. It is proposed to minimize of service delay while the additional authentication. The new session key is able to authenticate about abnormal messages on the phone. This paper has made it possible to solve the vulnerability of existing SIP authentication by using mutual authentication between user and proxy server and suggest efficient VoIP service which simplify authentication procedures through key distribution after authentication.

  • Regulation of nerve growth factor (NGF)-induced neuronal differentiation by GTPase activating protein(GAP) and its mechanism were investigated in rat pheochromocytoma cell line, PCl2. Overexpression of GAP caused the delay in the onset of neurite outgrowth of PCl2 eel Is in response to NGF. GAP has been known to inhibit p21$\^$ras/, the activated form of which induces neuronal differentiation. Therefore, the activity of p21$\^$ras/ was compared in control cells and cells overexpressing GAP indirectly by measuring the activities of B-Raf and MAP kinase that are known to be positively regulated by p21$\^$ras/. Surprisingly, NGF-induced activities of these two proteins were the same in control eells and GAP-overexpressing cells. Activities of Trk, PLC-r and SMC that act at a site upstream to p21$\^$ras/ in NGF signal transduction pathway were not also affected by GAP overexpression. Interestingly, however, the extent of tyrosine phosphorylation of SNT was found to be remarkably low in cells overexpressing GAP. It has been shown previously that neurotrophins and not mitogens induce SNT tyrosine phosphorylation in PCl2 cells. Thus it is possible that the timing of NGF-induced neuronal differntiation may be in part regulated by SNT and the slower onset of neurite outgrowth in cells overexpressing GAP may be through the inhibition of SNT by GAP.
