  • The clustering is an important mechanism thai provides information for mobile nodes efficiently and improves the processing capacity for routing and the allocation of bandwidth. This paper proposes a clustering scheme based on the fuzzy relevance degree to solve problems such as node distribution found in the dynamic property due to mobility and flat structure and to enhance the routing performance. The proposed scheme uses the fuzzy relevance degree, ${\alpha}$, to select the cluster head for clustering in FSV (Fuzzy State Viewing) structure. The fuzzy relevance ${\alpha}$ plays the role in CH selection that processes the clustering in FSV. The proposed clustering scheme is used to solve problems found in existing 1-hop and 2-hop clustering schemes. NS-2 simulator is used to verify the performance of the proposed scheme by simulation. In the simulation the proposed scheme is compared with schemes such as Lowest-ID, MOBIC, and SCA. The simulation result showed that the proposed scheme has better performance than the other existing compared schemes.

  • Background: Funnel chest is one of the most common anomaly of chest wall, which is manifested by depression of sternum and costal cartilage. Popular operative methods were Ravitch operation and Wada operation. Material and Method: From 1983 to 1996, 21 cases of funnel chest were corrected surgically in the department of thoracic surgery, National Medical Center. Investigated age and sex distribution, combined anomaly, clinical symptom, degree of correction and complication, postoperative satisfaction. We used 2 different surgical methods, one was Wada & its variants(17 cases), the other was Ravitch and it variants(4 cases). Most of operative indications were cosmetic problems. Result: The pre-operative Welch index was 4.188, but this index decreased to 3.46 after the operations.(p=0.046) The degree of correction was higher in Wada & it variant operation than the modified Ravitch operation.(p=0.54) Their results were satisfactory in 20 patients, while unsatisfactory in 1 patient because of a k-wire fracture. There was no recurrence of chest wall depression or postoperative death during the OPD follow up period. Conclusion: We recommend Wada operation in symmetric and small degree of depressive chest wall deformity in preand post school age.

  • Amplification of wave height at concave corner was investigated by three dimensional hydraulic tests. A typical rubble mound structure was tested with two-layer Tetrapod and the slope of 1:1.5. The irregular waves with Bretschneider-Mitsuyasu spectrum were applied to the tests. The center angles of concave corner were 120 degree, 140 degree and 160 degree. According to the test results, the maximum wave height amplification ratio at concave corner was about 1.5 times of incident wave height among the all test conditions, and the W-shaped wave height distribution was shown.

  • Recently intradiscal electrothermal therapy is introduced, which is a new and minimally invasive technique fer the treatment of discogenic low back pain. This procedure involves the percutaneous threading of a flexible catheter into the disc under fluoroscopic guidance. The catheter, composed of thermal resistive coil, heats the posterior annulus of the disc, causing contraction of collagen fibers and destruction of afferent nociceptors. This study tries to investigate the effects of the important factors of this procedure such as heat source temperature and heat applying time on the temperature distribution within the intervertebral disc. This study utilized both computer simulation and the experiment for the verification of finite element analysis. FE analysis was carried out with ANSYS v7.0 (ANSYS Inc, USA) using 10,980 number of brick element and 12,551 number of node. The functional spinal units of 5 month old swine were used for the experiment and the temperature was monitored using 10 channel temperature measurement device MV200. Through this study, it was able to analyze the temperature range of inner intervertebral disc by two mechanisms which are known to alleviate pain clinically. The results showed that when the heat source temperature was kept up 80 degree for 1,020 seconds, the temperature of inner annulus reached at 45 degree up to the distance of 15.6mm from heat source, which explains coagulation of inner annulus by heat. When the same heat source was used, the temperature of inner nucleus reached at 60 degree up to the distance of 9mm from heat source, which explains contraction of inner nucleus by heat.

  • In this study, the characteristics of particle crash of decomposed granite soil sampled at Pocheon area were presented. The degree of weathering was artificially achieved by means of hydrofluoric acid. Weathering index was firstly determined by the analysis of mineral composition. Then, particle distribution, permeability tests were conducted. The results showed that weathering effects on particle crash over entire particle sizes. Comparative analysis on specific surface between $D_{10}$ and $D_{50}$ indicated that the smaller the particle size, the more the particle crash. In addition, the most particle crashing due to compaction appeared around the optimum moisture content. The incremental ratio of specific surface appeared to decrease as weathering proceeds, which means that the higher the weathering index the less the particle crash.

  • This paper reports the correlation between dielectric constant and degree of amorphism of the hybrid type SiOC thin films. SiOC thin films were deposited by high density plasma chemical vapor deposition using bistrimethyl- silylmethane(BTMSM,$H_{9}C_{3}-Si-CH_{2}-Si-C_{3}H_{9}$) and oxygen precursors with various flow rate ratio. As-deposited film and annealed films at $400^{\circ}C$ were analyzed by XRD. The SiOC thin films were amorphous from XRD patterns. For quantitative analysis, the diffraction pattern of the samples was transformed to radial distribution function by Fourier analysis, and then compared with each other. The degree of amorphism of annealed films was higher than that of as-deposited ones. The dielectric constant varied in accordance with flow rate ratio of precursors. The lowest dielectric constant was obtained from the as-deposited film which has the highest degree of amorphism after annealing.

  • The aim of the present study was to investigate the distribution of periodontally hopeless teeth in patients who had not been treated. Five hundred nineteen teeth of 163 patients who had visited at the Department of Periodontology, Chonbuk National University Hospital during the period from January 1999 to July 2001 were selected as a periodontally hopeless tooth. Selection criteria were as follows: 1) probing pocket depth more than 8mm, 2) tooth mobility of degree III, 3) radiographic bone loss more than 75%. The contralateral tooth to a hopeless tooth (experimental tooth) was designated as a control tooth. Between the experimental and control tooth, differences in probing pocket depth, tooth mobility and amount of radiographic bone loss were examined as well as correlation. The results showed that hopeless teeth were most frequently found in the maxillary first molar position and least frequently in the maxillary canine position. Differences between experimental and control teeth were 2mm in probing depth, 1 degree in tooth mobility, and 20% in amount of bone loss (p<0.01). The periodontal conditions between the experimental and control teeth showed correlation in general, however, statistical significances were found in posterior teeth positions. Within limitations of this study, it can be concluded that local factors may play a role in deterioration of periodontal disease along with symmetrical character of periodontal disease.

  • The premise of this study is that an ultimate objective in planning an exhibition space is spectators' experiences shaped by a result of their first-hand experiences and responses within an exhibition space, and this result can be recognized in the spectators' movement. Thus, the sign system that can directly affects viewers' main line of flow and movement patterns was examined vis--vis a mutually complementary relation in a triangular composition with the structure of exhibition space and the exhibition contents. Based on the findings, predictive values before and after a complementary application of the sign system to the structure of exhibition space was analyzed and its validity was assessed. The results of this research analysis were drawn as follows. It was shown that an understanding of the locations of direction signs and the degree of recognition can function as an important factor to predict viewers' movement, along with an understanding of topological characteristics of an exhibition space. In terms of the connection and disconnection of space units that form the space structure, it suggests that the distribution of signs and the degree of recognition can adjust the degree of connection and disconnection. Even though exhibition spaces for research subjects were selected from a relatively large number of museums, but the research was limited with a focus on the structure of exhibition space and sign systems. Thus, it is proposed that future studies should be conducted by including varieties of exhibition and environmental factors.

  • In this study, the steel material for shipbuilding(LR-A class) was used, and FCAW was taken advantage of 3G attitude and they are welded by different welding ways. As a result of analyzing wave with welding monitoring system, the stable values are obtained which are the first floor(electronic current 164~182 A, voltage 24 V), the second floor(electronic current 174~190 A, voltage 22~25 V), the third floor(electronic current 158~188 A, voltage 22~25 V), and fourth floor(electronic current 172~184 A, voltage 22~25 V), at this time, the stable wave standard deviation and changing coefficient could be obtained. When the welding testing through nondestructive inspection was analyzed know defect of welding, there was no defect of welding in A, D, E, but some porosities in B, and slag conclusion near the surface in C, because the length of arc was not accurate, and the electronic current and voltage was not stable. After observing the change of heat affect zone through micro testing, each organization of floor formed as Grain Refinement, so welding part was fine, the distance of heat affect zone is getting wider up to change the values of the electronic current and voltage. As a result of degree of hardness testing, the hardness orders were the heat affect zone(HAZ), Welding Zone(WZ), and Base Metal(BM). When the distribution of degree of hardness is observed. B is the highest degree of hardness The reason why heat effect zone is higher than welding zone and base metal, welding zone is boiled over melting point($1539^{\circ}C$) and it starts to melt after the result of analysis through metal microscope, so we can know that delicate tissue is created at the welding zone. Therefore, in order to get the optimal conditions of the welding, the proper current of the welding and voltage is needed. Furthermore the precise work of welding is required.
