  • In this paper, we will introduce the concept of fuzzy mulitplication module. We will define a new operation called a product on th family of all fuzzy submodules of a fuzzy mulitplication module. We will define a fuzzy subset of the idealization ring R+M and find some relations with the product of fuzzy submodules and product of fuzzy ideals of the idealization ring R+M. Some properties of weakly fuzzy prime submoduels and fuzzy prime submodules which are de ned by T.K.Mukherjee M.K.Sen and D.Roy will be introduced. We will investigate some properties of fuzzy prime submodules of a fuzzy multiplication module.

  • A term is called linear if each variable which occurs in the term, occurs only once. A hypersubstitution is said to be linear if it maps any operation symbol to a linear term of the same arity. Linear hypersubstitutions have some importance in Theoretical Computer Science since they preserve recognizability [7]. We show that the collection of all linear hypersubstitutions forms a monoid. Linear hypersubstitutions are used to define linear hyperidentities. The set of all linear term operations of a given algebra forms with respect to certain superposition operations a function algebra. Hypersubstitutions define endomorphisms on this function algebra.

  • This paper presents a numerical solution for the thick cylinders made of functionally graded materials (FGMs) with a constant Poisson's ratio and an arbitrary Young's modulus. We define two fundamental solutions which are derived from an ordinary differential equation under two particular initial boundary conditions. In addition, for the single layer case, we can define the transfer matrix N. The matrix gives a relation between the values of stress and displacement at the interior and exterior points. By using the assumed boundary condition and the transfer matrix, we can obtain the final solution. The transfer matrix method also provides an effective way for the solution of multiply layered cylinder. Finally, a lot of numerical examples are present.

  • Objective : The purpose of study is to define the term Dong(動) in diagnosis view. Method : To define term Dong(動), I refer to Korean, Chinese, Japanese dictionary and Todo Yoshimasu (吉益東洞)'s writing, Yakucho(藥徵) Houkyoku(方極). Next, I search for the diagnosis definition of Dong(動) in 11 case reports. Results : The diagnosis definitions of Dong(動) are two meanings. One is objective symptoms which are doctor can examine, trembling, movement, etc. The other is subjective symptoms which are patient's feeling, emotional problems, etc. It seperates 6 meanings concretely. Conclusions: (1) visible moving of a focus, (2) movement of a focus, (3) appearance of abnormal secretion, (4) abnormal change of focus, (5) feel like moving, (6) change of emotion beyond patient's control. 1~4 are objective symptoms which are doctor can examine, and 5~6 are subjective symptoms which are patient's feeling.

  • In this paper we propose a new method of evaluating customers' service quality using triangle fuzzy numbers and semantic differential scale. These two parameters are useful for quantifying the customers' linguistic variables and subjective judgements. We define the Service Quality(SQ) as the ratio of the expected and perceived service and address the Agreement Rate(AR) calculated from the hamming distance in order to define the Service Rate(SR) as the geometric mean of the SQ and AR. Using the SR in the analysis of service attributes provides more appropriate to measure the customers' service quality and to establish a creative service policy for competitive service quality improvement.

  • A form parameter method compounds the form parameters which define the hull geometric characteristics. This method can transform a hull form by changing the form parameters. The form parameter method is a hull define method without utilization of mother ships. However it is difficult to determine these form parameters. Thus, we are complemented the form parameter method using the neural networks. It is found that the form parameter method using the neural networks is efficient in hull form design by consideration of application examples.

  • This is an R&D project on design optimization of the inner shield of the Omega color picture tube at Samsung SDI in Korea. This was an R&D project which basically used the IDOV (Identify, Design, Optimize, Validate) process for Six Sigma implementation. Most Six Sgima projects use the process of DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). However, this project introduces a new cycle, RDIDOV (Recognize, Define, and IDOV). Here CPT means Color Picture Tube. Sam sung SDI is one of the two companies which began Six Sigma in Korea. This case study shows a good example how an R&D Six Sigma project can be usefully employed in manufacturing companies using a new process cycle.

  • We propose some properties for a fuzzy correlation test by reduced-spread fuzzy variance for sample fuzzy data. First, we define the condition of fuzzy data for repeatedly observed data or that which includes error term data. By using the average of spreads for fuzzy numbers, we reduce the spread of fuzzy variance and define the agreement index for the degree of acceptance and rejection. Given a non-normal random fuzzy sample, we have bivariate normal distribution by apply Box-Cox power fuzzy transformation and test the fuzzy correlation for independence between the variables provided by the agreement index.

  • This case study provides a market analysis methodology for overseas markets by applying statistical tools and the Six Sigma approach. The study suggests a procedure with seven steps to improve brands position in the market. These steps consist of interviewing consumers and floor salesmen of stores, surveying, analysis of correlation between brand position and customers satisfaction, analysis of relationship with companies and customer satisfaction factors, analysis of the customer satisfaction gap between companies, evaluating the importance of customer satisfaction factors, and suggestion for enhancement of brand position. The Six Sigma approach such as "Define", "Measure" and "Analyze" is used in this procedure, which is part of Six Sigma procedure, D-M-A-I-C (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). Minitab and SAS are used for the statistical analysis.

  • Despite its brilliant success, Six Sigma has suffered from two shortcomings, namely, the lack of a systematic method to identify the right projects in the "Define" stage and to sustain the improvement in the "Control" stage. The integration of Six Sigma and Business Process Management(BPM) seems to be a promising way to overcome the shortcomings of Six Sigma. This paper first reviews the existing efforts on this issue, and then proposes a framework for an effective integration of Six Sigma and BPM. The framework consists of five phases - DEFINE, EXECUTE, MONITOR, ANALYZE, and IMPROVE(DEMAI). A detailed description on the procedural model is also presented.
