치과용 지르코니아 코어에서 착색농도에 따른 색조측정 (Measure of shade differences according to the concentration of dental zirconia coloring liquid)

  • Purpose: In this study, in order to provide objective standard of the mixed concentration of the zirconia coloring-liquids, compare the shade differences after colored zirconia blocks from different concentrations. Methods: After immersion for 2 minutes zirconia specimen ($1.5{\times}1.5{\times}0.6{\pm}0.01mm$) in coloring-liquids that produced different concentrations, were sintered in furnace dedicated. Then, it was measured in spectrophotometer and Shadepilot. It has been determined mean and standard deviation of the color difference for each group, and verified by one-way ANOVA using the (version12.0) SPSS WIN Program the difference in shade according to the concentration at the significance level of 95% confidence, it conducted a Tukey's multiple range test to post-test. Results: The mean of $L^*$ was decreased toward LN35 group, however the mean of $a^*$ and $b^*$ was increased(p<.05). There is a statistically significant difference in the results of $L^*$ post hoc test of each group was LN15-LN30/LN35, LN20-LN30/LN35, LN25-LN30/LN35, and LN30-LN35 group. The $a^*$ group, it was found that there is a statistically significant difference in all groups for each(p<.05). The $b^*$ group, it was found that there is a statistically significant difference in all groups except the LN25-LN30(p<.05). Conclusion: In order to make effective use of the coloring-liquids of zirconia, the device objective, accurate concentration measurement is required, from the present study, we presented evidence basic to this.

Development of a dynamic sensing system for civil revolving structures and its field tests in a large revolving auditorium

  • In civil engineering, revolving structures (RS) are a unique structural form applied in innovative architecture design. Such structures are able to revolve around themselves or along a certain track. However, few studies are dedicated to safety design or health monitoring of RS. In this paper, a wireless dynamic sensing system is developed for RS, and field tests toward a large revolving auditorium are conducted accordingly. At first, a wheel-rail problem is proposed: The internal force redistributes in RS, which is due to wheel-rail irregularity. Then the development of the sensing system for RS is presented. It includes system architecture, network organization, vibrating wire sensor (VWS) nodes and online remote control. To keep the sensor network identifiable during revolving, the addresses of sensor nodes are reassigned dynamically when RS position changes. At last, the system is mounted on a huge outdoor revolving auditorium. Considering the influence of the proposed problem, the RS of the auditorium has been designed conservatively. Two field tests are conducted via the sensing system. In the first test, 2000 people are invited to act as the live load. During the revolving process, data is collected from RS in three different load cases. The other test is the online monitoring for the auditorium during the official performances. In the end, the field-testing result verifies the existence of the wheel-rail problem. The result also indicates the dynamic sensing system is applicable and durable even while RS is rotating.

  • 바이모달 저상굴절 트램은 자동운전으로 일반도로와 전용구간을 주행할 수 있는 고무차륜방식의 저상굴절 차량으로서, 철도의 정시성과 버스의 접근성을 동시에 구현할 수 있는 신교통수단이다. 바이모달 트램은 전자기 궤도를 사용한 자동운전, 전차륜 조향과 함께 CNG 엔진과 리튬 폴리머 배터리 팩을 사용한 친환경 직렬형 하이브리드 추진시스템을 사용한다. 본 논문에서는 바이모달 트램의 직렬형 하이브리드 추진시스템 개발에 대해 기술하고 시험선및 일반도로에서 수행된 시험 결과를 분석한다. 또한 바이모달 트램 추진장치의 튜닝 및 시험데이터 취득을 위해 개발된 계측장비의 구성 및 동작방식에 대해 설명한다. 시작차량에 설치된 계측장비의 데이터를 기초로 전용 시험 선과 일반도로에서 주행시 직렬형 하이브리드 추진시스템의 동작을 확인하며, 차량의 연비 및 엔진 효율을 계산한다.

자율수상선을 이용한 수중 자기장 지도 작성 (Underwater Magnetic Field Mapping Using an Autonomous Surface Vehicle)

  • Geomagnetic field signals have potential for use in underwater navigation and geophysical surveys. To map underwater geomagnetic fields, we propose a method that exploits an autonomous surface vehicle. In our system, a magnetometer is rigidly attached to the vehicle and not towed by a cable, minimizing the system's size and complexity but requiring a dedicated calibration procedure due to magnetic distortion caused by the vehicle. Conventional 2D methods can be employed for the calibration by assuming the horizontal movement of the magnetometer, whereas the proposed 3D approach can correct for horizontal misalignment of the sensor. Our method does not require a supporting crane system to rotate the vehicle, and calibrates and maps simultaneously by exploiting data obtained from field operation. The proposed method has been verified experimentally in inland waters, generating a magnetic field map of the test area that is of much higher resolution than the public magnetic field data.

Synchronous 2D/3D Switching System for Service-Compatible 3DTV Broadcasting

  • This paper proposes a new broadcasting system for the service-compatible 3DTV in which the 3D service can coexist with the conventional digital TV broadcast. In the proposed system, the commercial 3DTV service can be implemented via the existing DTV channel without utilizing the dedicated 3DTV system. This 2D/3D system interworks with the conventional system and can switch to 2D or 3D service according to the broadcast programming and schedule. The system also provides a mechanism that can prevent the synchronization mismatch between left and right video streams and between the stream and the associated signaling in the 2D/3D transition periods. The picture quality measurements are carried out based on the ITU-R recommended test to check the level of quality of service provided by the proposed scheme. The conformity tests are also performed with the conventional channel and the receiver for the DTV system to confirm the feasibility of the proposed one for the commercial service.

  • Pulse tube-type spaceborne cryocooler is widely used to cool down the infrared sensor of observation satellites. However, such cryocooler also generates micro-vibration which is the one of main sources to seriously affect the image quality during its on-orbit operation. Therefore, to comply with the mission requirement of high resolution observation satellite, additional technical efforts have been required. In this study, we proposed a spaceborne cryocooler passive vibration isolator using SMA mesh washer, which guarantees the structural safety of both the micro-vibration disturbance source and itself under harsh launch vibration loads without an additional holding mechanism and the micro-vibration isolation performance on orbit environment. To verify the micro-vibration isolation performance of the proposed vibration isolator, we performed the micro-vibration isolation measurement test using the dedicated micro-vibration measurement device proposed in this study.

압전소자를 이용한 철도차량용 스마트 좌석 기술 적용성 검토 (Study on Smart Seat Technology for Railroad Vehicles Using Piezoelectric Sensors)

  • 본 연구에서는 압전소자를 이용한 철도차량용 스마트 좌석 기술에 대한 적용성을 검토하였다. 이를 위해 스마트 좌석 기술에 대한 개념을 정립하였고, 실제 철도차량용 좌석을 단순화한 축소 모형을 제작하여 압전소자를 적용한 후 스마트 좌석의 기능에 대한 시뮬레이션 시험을 수행하였다. 시험을 통해, 본 연구에서 제안한 실시간 착석 확인 및 도착알림기능이 포함된 압전소자기반 스마트 좌석 시스템의 실현 가능성을 검증하였다. 본 연구 결과는 향후 실용화를 통해 검토 업무 효율화를 통한 고소철도 서비스의 질적 향상에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

Study of body movement monitoring utilizing nano-composite strain sensors contaning Carbon nanotubes and silicone rubber

  • Multi-Walled Carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) coupled with Silicone Rubber (SR) can represent applicable strain sensors with accessible materials, which result in good stretchability and great sensitivity. Employing these materials and given the fact that the combination of these two has been addressed in few studies, this study is trying to represent a low-cost, durable and stretchable strain sensor that can perform excellently in a high number of repeated cycles. Great stability was observed during the cyclic test after 2000 cycles. Ultrahigh sensitivity (GF>1227) along with good extensibility (ε>120%) was observed while testing the sensor at different strain rates and the various number of cycles. Further investigation is dedicated to sensor performance in the detection of human body movements. Not only the sensor performance in detecting the small strains like the vibrations on the throat was tested, but also the larger strains as observed in extension/bending of the muscle joints like knee were monitored and recorded. Bearing in mind the applicability and low-cost features, this sensor may become promising in skin-mountable devices to detect the human body motions.

Local & Global 모델을 이용한 용접구조물 변형 해석에 관한 연구 (The Analysis of Welding Deformation in Large Welded Structure by Using Local & Global Model)

  • Some industrial steel structures are composed by components linked by several welding joints to constitute an assembly. The main interest of assembly simulation is to evaluate the global distortion of welded structure. The general method, thermo-elasto-plastic analysis, leads to excessive model size and computation time. In this study, a simplified method called "Local and Global approach" was developed to break down this limit and to provide a accurate solution for distortion. Local and global approach is composed of 3 steps; 1) Local simulation of each welding joint on a dedicated mesh (usually very fine due to high thermal gradients), taking into account for the non linearity of the material properties and the moving heat source. 2) Transfer to the global model of the effects of the welding joints by projection of the plastic strain tensors. 3) Elastic simulation to determine final distortions in global model. The welding deformation test for mock-up structure was performed to verify this approach. The predicted welding distortion by this approach had a good agreement with experiment results.

개선된 자기소호회로와 아크전압 억제회로를 사용한 유도성 부하의 직류차단 특성 실험 (Experiment on DC Circuit Breaker for Inductive Load by Improved Magnetic Arc-extinguisher and Arc-Attenuation Circuit)

  • Recently, DC distribution systems become hot issues since DC type loads increase rapidly according to the expansion of IT equipment such as computers, servers, and digital devices; DC type loads will cover 50% for all electricity loads in 2020 which was mere 10% in 2000. DC distribution systems are also accelerated by the expansion of renewable power systems since they are easy to be interfaced with DC grids rather than AC grids. However, removing the fault current in DC grids is comparably difficult since the current in DC grids has non zero-crossing point like in AC grids. Thus, developing dedicated DC circuit breakers for DC grids is necessary to get safety for human and electrical facilities. Magnet arc extinguishing method is proper to small size DC circuit breakers. However, simple Magnet arc extinguishing method is not enough to break inductive fault currents. This paper proposed a novel DC circuit breaker against inductive fault current defined by IEEE C37.14-2004 Standard for Low-Voltage DC Power Circuit Breakers Used in Enclosures. The performance of the proposed DC circuit breaker was verified by an experimental circuit breaker test system built in this research.
