The purpose of this research is to analyze the methods of the decorations using module plants in interior spaces. This research produced 18 types of the module plant decoration: considering the classifications of module plants(soil, hydroculture, moss), directions of module plants (up, side, down), assembling ways of module plants (horizontal, vertical). Applying these 18 types to the interior space decoration (floor stand, wall attach, ceiling hanging), 54 types were classified. After that, 150 cases of the decoration using module plants in interior spaces were collected and analyzed. In result, the cases were belong to 25 types of 54 types. The important types were the types to be able to decorate wide area of walls or ceilings without occupying floor area: SOIL-UP-VERTICAL, HYDROCULTURE-UP-VERTICAL, MOSS-SIDE-VERTICAL. These types were the decorations with function of bio-filter for air cleaning. Special types were SOIL-SIDE-HORIZONTAL, SOIL-SIDE-VERTICAL with soil developed not to pour and SOIL-DOWN-HORIZONTAL, SOIL-DOWN-VERTICAL with lucks not to pour soil. Plants will be used widely in interior design because of the awareness of eco-friendly design. The strength that module plants are portable, changable, able to exchange parts helps users to maintain plants in interior spaces. For designers, module plants are flexible materials in order to make variety of forms to adjust to interior spaces. The results of this research about methods of the decorations using module plants in interior spaces are useful to designers who want to design interior spaces eco-friendly and user-friendly.

The purpose of this study was to categorize the decorative characteristics of the Rococo Age, which displays the most glamorous and elegant decorative beauty, in architecture, interior decorations, paintings, and patterns, and to analyze these characteristics and graft them onto art masks in a modern way. Piece I is a mixed media piece that based its motif on the ceilings and pulpits of the German Vis Pilgrimage Church, which is representative architecture of the Rococo Age. It was glamorously produced using gold and cubic zirconia. Piece II is also a mixed media piece that borrowed its motif from the exterior and gazebo of the Sanssouci Palace in Germany, another representative piece of architecture from the Rococo Age, and it was produced to clearly display the image of the Sanssouci Palace, using emerald and ivory. Piece III applies the furniture trends of the Rococo Age. Curves in S and C shapes, which can often be found in Chinese furniture, along with dark backgrounds, common in portrait paintings, were applied to give a sense of weight and dignity. Piece IV is an application of the fabric patterns of the Rococo Age. Continuous patterns of flowers and greenery stems were drawn on the mask to recreate the fabric patterns of the age. Piece V used the painting 'Swing' of the Rococo Age as its inspiration. Lace and ribbon decorations were used to emphasize feminine beauty and express the loveliness of the woman that appears in the painting. Piece VI borrows from the painting 'Madame de Pompadour' of the Rococo Age and the clothing worn by Pompadour. This piece grafted colors and themes through the painting and expressed a fusion of the dresses of Pompadour and lace that is clearly displayed in the architecture, paintings, clothing, interior decorations, and patterns of the Rococo Age, along with the rocaille (asymmetrically shaped decorations that resemble clams), flowers, leaves, stems, and Chinoiserie styles. These motifs clearly display the decorative characteristics of the age and these were grafted them onto art masks, confirming that it is possible to create new designs.

조선시대 의궤(儀軌) 도식(圖式)과 도병(圖屛)등에서 꽃꽂이의 양식을 찾아보았다. 의궤의 도식과 도병에서는 국연(國宴)이 열리는 궁궐 정전(正殿) 중앙의 어좌(御座) 좌우를 장엄하는 선형, 둥근형, 타원형의 준화(樽花)을 확인, 음식 위를 장식하는 상화(床花), 관이나 모자 등을 장식하는 잠화(簪花), 화안(花案)이라고도 하며, 궁중 행사시 차일을 받쳤던 기둥장 식인 화가(花架) 등의 양식을 확인할 수 있었다. 화가는 초기에는 찾아볼 수 없었으며, 1848년 무신진찬도병에서부터 나타나고 있다. 1795년 원행을 묘정리의궤와 화성능행도병에서는 테이블장식과 현대 공간장식으로 볼 수 있는 바닥공간장식과 어사화, 왕이 하사한 꽃을 지팡이에 묶은 꽃 장식등이 나타나는 것을 알 수 있었다.

This study aims to understand the unique housing culture and decoration style in traditional Thai houses. Literature review and site visit were applied for the research method. A steep gable roof, a lifted floor structure on the pillars, a semi-enclosed central flatform(charn) and a outdoor staircase are important plastic elements of exterior decoration in Thai traditional houses. 'Panlom(windbreak on gable)' and 'fa loog fak(wall panel)' are the most unique elements which determine Thai traditional style. In Thai traditional style decoration, the beautifully carved wooden panels and decorations are also the most important factors. The decorations can be analyzed in the aspect of following perspectives. ; The characteristics of Thai traditional house decorations have been developed and evolved as result of influences from regional climate and local material. And also the social-cultural factors such as religion, social and family relationship and life style controlled the forms and culture of traditional housing form and culture. As a result, this study summarises and defines the outstanding and unique meaning and definition of the decoration in Thai traditional houses focused on central region in Thailand.

The aim of this study is to find out the symbol of clothing decorations in Elsa Schiaparalli's design works and there are four major points due to the aim of this study. Firstly, a fantasy is represented through Surrealistic Arts which creates mysterious, secrete, and surprising spirits. In Surrealistic Arts, the fashion of schiaparelli demonstrates a fantasy spirit by using the methods like metaphor, transformation, and re-positioning. Secondly, In Surrealistic paintings, normally double image or different image from symbol immanent were expressed. However, Elsa Schiaparelli used double and multi-image decorations instead that has well-organized formative effect. The mixture of double images can be separated as symbolic mixture, design mixture and expressive mixture. Thirdly, the body parts has represented symbolism and sensuality in Surrealism Arts. Elsa Schiaparelli has demonstrated the expression of modern clothing as passionate, desirable, and powerful. This is the reason why her designs were absolutely different from the previous sihouette-focused clothing. Fourth, there are lots of intentional decoration that are different from actual images, such as transformation, exaggeration, minimization and repettion, as well as, re-location, re-arrangement, line-up arrangement, collage and odd materials.

The purpose of this study is to inquire original design and character of dancheong in Yeongnamnu P avilion which features unusual portraits of twisting dragons and four heavenly creatures. Its artistic value and originality can be found in the portraits of four heavenly creatures which are painted on the interior seonjayeon(fan shape rafter) and in the unique design of crossbeam meoricho(flower decorations on each side of pillars). Yeongnamnu's crossbeam meoricho is janggu-meoricho type(meoricho with hourglass figure) with full-shape lotus and half-shape flower decorations. And it can be said that, dragon portrait painted on the border of lotus and flower decorations in green and yellow is a very unique style of dancheong, for the reason that it has scarcely been used before and ever since. The portrait of four heavenly creatures painted on each corner of seonjayeon is also found to be unique in design, for the reason that the design has rarely been used throughout history, with only two exceptions in mural tombs of Goguryeo and folding screen in Injeongjeon Hall of Changdeokgung P alace. With its unique and authentic feature along with its rarity in number, the portrait of four heavenly creatures painted on Yeongnamnu can be considered as quite symbolic and important.

This study examines the furniture usage behavior of the apartment dwellers in tile city of furniture usage by resident’s characteristics, such as floor space size, household income, the stage of family life cycle and housewife’s age. To this end, interviews were conducted with 304 individuals, either household heads or their spouses living in three residential areas in Seoul. The sample was selected among people living in apartment units with the 30s and 40s pyong of floor space size.The major findings of this study are as fllows ; The furniture and furnishings selected for the study are grouped into four clusters such as conversation-space components, ordinary decoration, high-quality decoration and miscellaneous components. Families in the stage of primary school life cycle were likely to possess fewer furniture and decorations than those in the stage of high school life cycle and in the launching stage. Younger housewives are less likely to possess ordinary and high-quality decorations than the older. Those living in the larger apartment units are likely to decorate their living room in an ornamental rather than functional way, and to possess more ordinary and high-quality decorations than those in the smaller. In this study, the size of floor space appers a variable most powerful to explain the pattern of furniture usage.

The purpose of this study is to examine house and interior design during the Georgian Period in England. The results of this study were as follows: 1. Typical houses during the Georgian Period were generally two types that one was a single detached house in the country and the other was a terrace houses in the city. 2. Both the houses and their interior design during the Georgian Period were influenced by Classicism and Palladianism. The distinction of forms and the decorations used motifs originating from Greece and Rome. Gradually, It had been changed by the influence of Rococo from Europe and the archaeological excavation of Pompeii and Herculaneum. 3. The facade of house used simpe, plain and symmetrical forms. Entrance was usually in the center of the house around sash windows. Also, the Inside of house, division of walls, arrangement of furnitures and decorations of details were followed the symmetrical forms. Finally, it was found that the distinctions represent the typical style of Georgian in England.

Hakka is a very special sub-ethnic group in China, which was formed during several migrations in Chinese war history. Today the majority of Hakka people, living in the boundary between Jiangxi, Guangdong, and Fujian province, still keep a quite old custom and culture. The bell hat for children is a unique and splendid illustration. We have imposed researches and studies in local area a lot and interviewed the local crafts-women to get to know more about bell hat. We are trying to describe the decorations on the bell hat, silver items and embroidery respectively, and then give an overall analysis of Chinese auspicious culture that the motifs of decorations have contained.
