In this paper, we propose a sum transmission rate maximization based cooperative spectrum sharing protocol with quality-of-service (QoS) support for both of the primary and secondary systems, which exploits the situation when the primary system experiences a weak channel. The secondary transmitter STb which provides the best performance for the primary and secondary systems is selected to forward the primary signal. Specifically, STb helps the primary system achieve the target rate by using a fraction of its power to forward the primary signal. As a reward, it can gain spectrum access by using the remaining power to transmit its own signal. We study the secondary user selection and optimal power allocation such that the sum transmission rate of primary and secondary systems is maximized, while the QoS of both primary and secondary systems can be guaranteed. Simulation results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed spectrum sharing protocol and its benefit to both primary and secondary systems.

Wireless Relaying is a promising solutions to overcome the channel impairments and provides high data rate coverage that appear for beyond 3G mobile communications. In this paper we present end to end BER performance of dual hop wireless communication systems equipped with multiple Decode and Forward relays over Rayleigh fading channel with the best relay selection. We compare the BER performance of the best relay with the BER performance of single relay. We select the best relay based on the end to end channel conditions. We further calculate the outage probability of the best relay. It is shown that the outage probability of the best relay is equivalent to the outage probability when all relays take part in the transmission. We apply Orthogonal Space Time Block coding(OSTBC) at the source terminal. Numerical and simulation results are presented to verify our analysis.

In this paper, we investigate physical layer security for multiple decode-and-forward (DF) relaying underlay cognitive radio networks (CRNs) with fixed transmit power at the secondary network against passive eavesdropping attacks. We propose a simple relay selection scheme to improve wireless transmission security based on the instantaneous channel information of all legitimate users and the statistical information about the eavesdropper channels. The closed-form expressions of the probability of non-zero secrecy capacity and the secrecy outage probability (SOP) are derived over independent and non-identically distributed Rayleigh fading environments. Furthermore, we conduct the asymptotic analysis to evaluate the secrecy diversity order performance and prove that full diversity is achieved by using the proposed relay selection. Finally, numerical results are presented to verify the theoretical analysis and depict that primary interference constrain has a significant impact on the secure performance and a proper transmit power for the second transmitters is preferred to be energy-efficient and improve the secure performance.
In this work, the secrecy of a typical wireless cooperative dual-hop non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA)-enabled decode-and-forward (DF) relay network is investigated with the impact of collaborative and non-collaborative eavesdropping. The system model consists of a source that broadcasts the multiplexed signal to two NOMA users via a DF relay, and information security against the eavesdropper nodes is provided by a helpful jammer. The performance metric is secrecy rate and ergodic secrecy capacity is approximated analytically. In addition, a differential evolution algorithm-based power allocation scheme is proposed to find the optimal power allocation factors for relay, jammer, and NOMA users by employing different jamming schemes. Furthermore, the secrecy rate analysis is validated at the NOMA users by adopting different jamming schemes such as without jamming (WJ) or conventional relaying, jamming (J), and with control jamming (CJ). Simulation results demonstrate the superiority of CJ over the J and WJ schemes. Finally, the proposed power allocation outperforms the fixed power allocation under all conditions considered in this work.

In this paper, we investigate cooperative diversity in a spectrum sharing environment where secondary users utilize primary users' spectrum only if the interference power received at the primary users is maintained below a predetermined level. The outage probability of a selective decode-and-forward (DF) based cooperative diversity scheme in the secondary network is derived to analyze the effects of spectrum sharing on cooperative diversity. Our analytical and simulation results show that the outage probability is saturated at a certain level of transmit power of secondary users due to interference regulation, and, hence, cooperative diversity gains are lost. Through asymptotic analysis, we also identify the critical value of transmit SNR beyond which the outage probability is saturated.

In this paper, we derive the probability density function (PDF) of end-to-end signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for t he dual-hop MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) DCF (Decouple-and-Forward) system. We also provide the end-to-end bit error ratio (BER) with M-ary PSK constellations for four antenna combinations. These are (1,8,1), (8,1,8), (2,4,2), and (4,2,4). Each number in the parentheses is the number of the transmit antenna at the source, the transmit and receive antenna at the relay and the receive antenna at the destination, respectively. We show t hat the end-to-end BER expression with M-ary PSK constellations makes an exact match with numerical results. We also show that MIMO DCF relay system achieves spatial diversity.

In this paper, we evaluate the outage performance of cooperative transmission in two-dimensional random networks. Firstly, we derive the joint distributions of the source-relay and the relay-destination links. Secondly, the outage probability for the decode-and-forward relaying system is derived when selection combining (SC) is employed at the destination. Finally, we calculate the average outage probability of the system and then attempt to express it by a simple approximate expression. The simulation results are presented to verify the accuracy of the derivations. Similar to deterministic networks, the cooperative transmission in random networks outperforms direct transmission at a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).

In this paper, the considered cognitive radio system has a pair of PT-PR and a pair of ST-SR. In first time slot(1 Phase), PT broadcast signal $x_p$ to PR, ST and SR. Then, each receivers(PR, ST, SR) decode received signal $x_p$. In second time slot(2 Phase), ST combine decoded signal ${x_p}^{\prime}$ and signal $x_s$, and it broadcast combined signal to PR and SR. PR and SR decode combined signal. At this time, PR can achieve diversity gain, due to using MRC, it combine 'received and decoded signal ${x_p}^{\prime}$ at 1 phase' and 'detected signal $x_p$ at 2 phase'. SR use linear combining technique and it can obtain $x_s$.

We investigate mobile multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) molecular communication via diffusion (MCvD) system which is consisted of two source nodes, two destination nodes and one relay node in the mobile three-dimensional channel. First, the combinations of decode-and-forward (DF) relaying protocol and network coding (NC) scheme are implemented at relay node. The adaptive thresholds at relay node and destination nodes can be obtained by maximum a posteriori (MAP) probability detection method. Then the mathematical expressions of the average bit error probability (BEP) of this mobile MIMO MCvD system based on DF and NC scheme are derived. Furthermore, in order to minimize the average BEP, we establish the optimization problem with optimization variables which include the ratio of the number of emitted molecules at two source nodes and the initial position of relay node. We put forward an iterative scheme based on block coordinate descent algorithm which can be used to solve the optimization problem and get optimal values of the optimization variables simultaneously. Finally, the numerical results reveal that the proposed iterative method has good convergence behavior. The average BEP performance of this system can be improved by performing the joint optimizations.

In this paper, we proposed a contract theory based cooperative spectrum sharing scheme with joint power and bandwidth optimization under asymmetric information, where the primary user (PU) does not know the secondary users' (SUs) private information. To improve performance, PU needs to provide incentives to stimulate nearby SUs to help forward its signal. By using contract theory, PU and SUs' negotiations are modeled as a labor market. PU and SUs act as the employer and employees, respectively. Specifically, SUs provide labor (i.e. the relay power, which can be used for forwarding PU's signal) in exchange for the reward (i.e. the spectrum access bandwidth which can be used for transmitting their own signals). PU needs to overcome a challenge how to balance the relationship between contributions and incentives for the SUs. We study the optimal contract design which consists of relay power and spectrum access bandwidth allocation. We show that the most efficient SUs will be hired by the PU to attend the cooperative communication. PU can achieve the same maximum utility as in the symmetric information scenario. Simulation results confirm that the utility of PU is significantly enhanced with our proposed cooperative spectrum sharing scheme.
