  • As web-based online communities are rapidly growing, the agents in the communities need to know their measurable belief of trust for safe and successful interactions. In this paper, we propose a computational model of trust resulting from available feedbacks in online communities. The notion of trust can be defined as an aggregation of consensus given a set of past interactions. The average trust of an agent further represents the center of gravity of the distribution of its trustworthiness and untrustworthiness. Furthermore, we precisely describe the relationships among reputation, trust and average trust through concrete examples showing their computations. We apply our trust model to online social networks in order to show how trust mechanisms are involved in the rational purchasing decision-making of buyers and sellers, and we summarize our simulation results.

The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of information and relational benefits provided by online sales sites of cultural products on online purchasing intention, and to reveal through empirical analysis whether these influences show a difference between stage products and screen products. Looking at the results of the study, first, in the case of the whole, both information offering and relational benefits have a significant effect on online purchasing intention. Second, in the case of stage products(plays), product understanding information, economic relational benefits, and customization relational benefits showed significant effects, but product purchasing information showed no significant influence. Third, in the case of screen products(movies), product purchasing information and economic relational benefits showed a significant effect, but product understanding information and customization relational benefits had no significant effect. In conclusion, the impact of information offering and relational benefits on online purchasing intention differs according to cultural products, and economic relational benefit is found to be an important influencing factor on online purchase decision making in all cases. These research results are expected to be helpful in establishing differentiated marketing strategies including customer relationship management in online transactions of cultural products.

  • As fashion and distribution companies have increasingly turned to implementing marketing activities that use omni-channel strategies, it is imperative to explore consumer-oriented evaluations of omni-channel shopping for fashion products. Through contributing to the growing research flow of consumer behavior within omni-channel contexts, the current study explores consumer motivations for omni-channel fashion shopping and their impacts on the decision-making stages of fashion products. The authors first performed in-depth interviews with six Korean consumers and confirmed the four types of consumer motivation for omni-channel shopping, and how decision-making processes react to fashion companies' omni- channel marketing strategies. These findings were used to set survey items for the main study. Based on the results and findings of previous literature, an online survey was conducted with 300 participants who had actual experience with omni-channel shopping for fashion products. The statistic results from the survey revealed the following: First, the in-depth interviews allowed the authors to confirm four factors of omni-channel shopping motivation (ubiquity, efficiency, convenience, and impulsiveness). Second, the survey showed the authors that among the four factors of omni-channel shopping orientation, impulsiveness had the greatest effect on consumer behaviors at the preand on-purchase stages, while the ubiquity factor had the greatest effect at the post-purchase stage. As such, the study empirically tested the omni-channel-specific factors of shopping orientation and motivation. In addition, it showed the effect of omni-channel marketing on various stages of the decision- making process and the study's limitations and implications were discussed.

Furthermore, questionnaires were given based on a simple sampling technique and acquired in the Jordanian market. 300 questionnaires were distributed, and 220 available samples were gathered, except for incomplete questionnaires, resulting in a 73% response rate to all those who selected to participate. Descriptive analysis, reliability test, correlation test, and multiple regressions were used in this research. Moreover, this study's results demonstrated that digital marketing, such as social media marketing and mobile marketing, has a profound impact on consumer purchasing decisions. However, hypothesis testing demonstrated that there are many patronized digital media platforms in Jordan that affect student behavior. Jordanian students buy various product categories on digital media platforms, and digital marketing affects student decision-making. Finally, the results of this study suggest that firms should adopt strategies to leverage the digital world and technology, increase brand awareness through digital platforms to continue competing in today's commercial environment.

This study examines the types of messages (factual or evaluative) that consumers find more useful and verifies the moderating effect of individual analytical decision-making style levels on differences in usefulness evaluation. Based on the tendency to acquire objective information, the usefulness of factual online reviews was expected to be higher in the context of buying experience goods, such as a web novel. Levels of analytical decision-making styles, which were classified based on individual perception, are also expected to affect the usefulness evaluation of reviews. Experiments 1 and 2 were repeatedly conducted to examine whether consumers think factual reviews are more useful than evaluative reviews. In particular, Experiment 2 was conducted to simulate the circumstance of selecting a romance web novel and demonstrated that reviews have a significant effect on messages and decision-making styles. The interaction effect between analytical decision-making style levels and review message types was also confirmed in Experiment 2. The results of this study can help researchers and marketers comprehend the behavioral patterns of web novel readers when evaluating reviews and consuming experience goods.

  • Decision-making in construction projects often include options features. Such embedded options are difficult to value properly and many decision makers do not have experience in option analysis. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate how real option analysis can be used to value capital expenditures on construction materials. We propose a real option framework to evaluate decision-making processes involving the purchase of construction materials. A case study was conducted by evaluating the purchase decision-making of solar cells, a good with high price volatility. Using real option analysis two strategies to improve the financial feasibility of installing a solar panel system were derived. The first strategy involves using a price cap that gives the project manager the right, but not obligation, to buy the modules for a predefined price during the next year. The second strategy is to defer the purchase of the solar cells until future price information becomes clearer. Both of the strategies in the case study were valued using the binominal model. This study will help to improve the financial feasibility of purchasing construction materials with high price volatility by including the value of managerial flexibility.
