Intensive chemical investigation of Korean marine sponge Spongia sp. has led to the isolation of two new scalaranes. The planar structures of the new compounds 1 and 2 were determined through 1D and 2D NMR spectral data analysis, while the relative stereochemistry of the compounds was determined based on the analysis of $^1H-^1H$ coupling constants and NOESY spectroscopic data. Compounds 1 and 2 did not display any significant biological activities on farnesoid X-activated receptor (FXR) in co-transfection assay.

The current method for pavement sign marking operations is labor-intensive and very dangerous due to the exposure of workers to passing traffic. It also requires blocking traffic for a long period of time resulting serious traffic jam. This paper deals with the development of a robotic system for automating the pavement sign painting operations. The robotic system consists of gantry frame equipped with transverse drive rail and automatic paint spray system. The workspace of the gantry robot is extended to one-lane width with the transverse rail system. This research also includes the development of font data structures that contain the shape information of pavement signs, such as Korean letters, English letters and symbols. The robot path is generated with this font data through the procedures of scaling up/down and partitioning the signs to be painted depending on the workspace size.
The purpose of this study was to compare the sleep and fatigue between groups with two shift and three shift nurses. A total of 14 nurses working in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit(NIC) were included with the seven for two shifts and the other seven for three shifts. Data were collected by Korean version of sleep tool(Oh et al., 1998) and fatigue symptom tool(Kim et al., 2001) and analyzed using SPSS PC 12.0. The results of the study were as follows: 1) There was statistically a significant difference in the number of total sleep hour and no difference in fatigue between groups. 2) There were no significant differences found in both sleep and fatigue by demographic characteristics between groups. 3) There were no correlations between sleep and fatigue in both groups. Through the further future studies, the findings of this study were expected to provide an opportunities for exploring the information on 2-shift nurses as well as 3-shift nurses and to offer the fundamental data on an arrangement of work force according to the types of shift work.
Purpose: Retailing is one of the fastest-growing sectors in Vietnam. In the sight of foreign investors, the Vietnamese retailing market is very prospective. However, the current competition is very intensive, and retailers are keen on gaining new customers. Hence, Vietnamese retailers have paid more attention to customer loyalty. Saigon Co.op is one of the largest retailers in Vietnam, but its consumers have more choices over a retailer. As a result, Saigon Co.op has realized the significance of customer loyalty. This study aims to determine the factors impacting customer loyalty of Saigon Co.op supermarket in Vietnam. Research design, data and methodology: this study applied the multiple regression analysis with 250 samples collected from Saigon Co.op customers. The questionnaire is provided to respondents via Google Form, and the link is sent to the fan page of Co.op mart on Facebook. Two hundred eighty-seven samples were collected, but 37 samples were removed due to missing values. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and regression analysis are used for data analysis on SPSS software version 20. Results: The findings show all four determinants of Saigon Co.op's customer loyalty, including Product Quality, Brand Image, Price Strategy and Service Quality. Conclusions: managerial recommendations are provided for supermarkets to improve their customer loyalty in Vietnam and other emerging markets. Limitations and suggestions for further research are also discussed.

The formation mechanism of the snow cells of the Yellow Sea associated with snowfall over the southwestern part of Korea on 4 February, 2004 has been investigated using special upper-air sounding and radar data obtained for the KEOP(Korea Enhanced Observing Period) Intensive Observing Period(IOP). Results show that the types of snow cells for the selected period are classified into L(Longitudinal)-mode, Low-level convergence, and T(Transverse)-mode with their evolution from L-mode to T-mode. In particular, the existence of low-level warm and humid layer associated with temporally southwesterly inflow for about 4 hours provides a favorable condition in forming the T-mode snow cells. The vertical depth of the T-mode snow cells is deeper than that of L-mode ones due to the southeastward penetration of cold and dry air into relatively warm and humid air. In addition, it is found that wind shear vector between 1000 hPa and 600 hPa is one of the factors which control the orientation of snow cells in formation embedded into the snowbands for the both modes.
Purpose: Mortality Provability Model (MPM) II is a model for predicting mortality probability of patients admitted to ICU. This study was done to test the validity of MPM II for critically ill neurological patients and to determine applicability of MPM II in predicting mortality of neurological ICU patients. Methods: Data were collected from medical records of 187 neurological patients over 18 yr of age who were admitted to the ICU of C University Hospital during the period from January 2008 to May 2009. Collected data were analyzed through $X^2$ test, t-test, Mann-Whiteny test, goodness of fit test, and ROC curve. Results: As to mortality according to patients' general and clinically related characteristics, mortality was statistically significantly different for ICU stay, hospital stay, APACHE III score, APACHE predicted death rate, GCS, endotracheal intubation, and central venous catheter. Results of Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit test were MPM $II_0$ ($X^2$=0.02, p=.989), MPM $II_24$ ($X^2$=0.99 p=.805), MPM $II_48$ ($X^2$=0.91, p=.822), and MPM $II_72$ ($X^2$=1.57, p=.457), and results of the discrimination test using the ROC curve were MPM $II_0$, .726 (p<.001), MPM $II_24$, .764 (p<.001), MPM $II_48$, .762 (p<.001), and MPM $II_72$, .809 (p<.001). Conclusion: MPM II was found to be a valid mortality prediction model for neurological ICU patients.
Purpose: This study investigated the mediating effect of family support in the relationships of anxiety and depression with maternal-fetal attachment among pregnant women admitted to the maternal-fetal intensive care unit (MFICU) in Korea. Methods: The participants were high-risk pregnant women with a gestational age of at least 20 weeks who were admitted to MFICUs in Busan and Yangsan. The Korean versions of four measurement tools were used for the self-report questionnaire: Spielberger's State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale, Cobb's family support measurement, and Cranley's maternal-fetal attachment scale. Data were collected from June 22 to September 20, 2020. Out of 124 participants, data from 123 respondents were analyzed. Descriptive statistics and regression analysis were done. Results: The average age of participants was 34.1 years. Their anxiety level was moderate (43.57±11.65 points out of 80) and 53.6% were identified as having moderate depression (average 10.13±5.48 points out of 30). Family support was somewhat high (average 43.30±5.03 points out of 55). The average score of maternal-fetal attachment was also somewhat high (73.37±12.14 points out of 96). Family support had a partial mediating effect in the relationships of anxiety and depression with maternal-fetal attachment among high-risk pregnant women admitted to the MFICU. Conclusion: Maintaining family support is challenging due to the nature of the MFICU. Considering the mediating effect of family support, establishing an intervention plan to strengthen family support can be helpful as a way to improve maternal-fetal attachment for high-risk pregnant women admitted to the MFICU.
This paper introduces a novel control algorithm, energy bounding algorithm, for stable haptic interaction. The energy bounding algorithm restricts energy generated by zero-order hold within consumable energy by physical damping that is energy consumption element in the haptic interface. The passivity condition can always be guaranteed by the energy bounding algorithm. The virtual coupling algorithm restricts the actuator force with respect to the penetration depth and restricts generated energy. In contrast, energy bounding algorithm restricts the change of actuator force with respect to time and restricts generated energy by zero-order hold. Therefore, much stiffer contact simulation can be implemented by the energy bounding algorithm. Moreover, the energy bounding algorithm doesn’t is not computationally intensive and the implementation of it is very simple.

The linear programming model is a special form of useful knowledge that is embedded in a database. Since formulating models from scratch requires knowledge-intensive efforts, knowledge-based formulation support systems have been proposed in the Decision Support Systems area. However, they rely on the assumption that sufficient domain knowledge should already be captured as a specific knowledge representation form. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to propose a methodology that finds useful knowledge on building linear programming models from a database. The methodology consists of two parts. The first part is to find s first-cut model based on a data dictionary. To do so, we applied the General Problem Solver(GPS) algorithm. The second part is to discover a second-cut model by applying neural network technique. An illustrative example is described to show the feasibility of the proposed methodology.
Purpose - This study attempts to measure the management performance of a food manufacturer using the BSC as one of the main business management techniques used to achieve the vision of a corporation. Research design, data, methodology - The measurement of business performance of a Japanese food manufacturer was conducted from four perspectives of BSC. Matsui (2005) developed the 'Cross-analysis chart'. Results - First, there were many cases where a minor wastage of raw materials was related to increasing costs. Second, the food manufacturer should try to recover the investment cost through significantly increasing the rate of the facility's operations. Third, reducing personnel expenses could be an important issue in labor-intensive manufacturing. Fourth, customer management was very important in the food manufacturing business. Finally, the food manufacturer should actively consider proposals influencing the food culture to secure high profits in the future. Conclusions - There were many limitations in applying these results to Korean food manufacturers, as this study applied to and analyzed the results in the context of the Japanese food manufacturer.
