The conventional four-step travel demand model is still widely used as the state-of-practice in most transportation planning agencies even though it does not provide reliable estimates of travel demand. In order to improve the accuracy of travel demand estimation, implementing an alternative approach would be critical as much as acquiring reliable socioeconomic and travel data. Recently, the role of travel demand model is diverse to satisfy the needs of microscopic analysis regarding various policies of travel demand management and traffic operations. In this context, the activity-based approach for travel demand estimation is introduced and a case study of developing a spatial-temporal activity presence-based approach that estimates travel demand through forecasting number of people present at certain place and time is accomplished. Results show that the spatial-temporal activity presence-based approach provides reliable estimates of both number of people present and trips actually people made. It is expected that the proposed approach will provide better estimates and be used in not only long-term transport plans but short-term transport impact studies with respect to various transport policies. Finally, in order to introduce the spatial-temporal activity presence-based approach, the data such as activity-based travel diary and land use based on geographic information system are essential.

This study was conducted in order to analyze job stress factors of radiotechnologists in order to inprove the work efficiency and to organize system management plans. For data collection, total 261 radiotechnologists, who work in Busan, took part in structured questionnaire survey. The collected data were analyzed by using SPSS/PC+ Win 13 version. For verification of the differences among groups, one-way ANOVA was executed. For analyzing efficiency of system, which is affected by job stress, multiple regression analysis was taken. First, work stress classified by age group was found as the biggest stress factor among radiotechnologists in their 30s. Among radiotechnologists in their 20s, 40s and 50s, the biggest stress factor was communication problems. In terms of, job stress classified by division, no statistical difference was observed among groups. Second, as the result of system efficiency analysis, high values were found in organizational immersion and job satisfaction among radiotechnologists in their 20s and oncology division has the highest values in concentrating the system and job satisfaction. For this result, statistically significant differences were observed among groups. Third, in terms of the sub-factors of work stress, communication problem was found as the variable that exerted statistically significant impact to organizational effectiveness. However, no statistically significant differences were observed inadministrative and personal problems. Job stress decreases as communication within the organizations or communication with other divisions becomes more successful. In other words, system efficiency can be enhanced by decreasing conflicts within organization through successful communication.

In this study, the major 38 tributaries in Nakdong River were monitored for flow rate and water quality in order to understand the characteristics of the watershed and to find improvement plan. The flow rate and water quality for each target tributary were evaluated based on the monitoring data in 2013~2014 using a statistical package SPSS-22.0. In addition, the tributary grouping method was conducted using a $BOD_5$ concentration/flowrate and TP concentration/flowrate monitoring data. The average values of $BOD_5$, $COD_{Mn}$, TP and TOC concentrations in Gumicheon, Gyeonghocheon, Jincheoncheon, Gisegokcheon, Yonghacheon and Yonghocheon located at Nakdong Waegwan and Nakdong Goryung watershed were high and in the grade of III or IV (5~8 mg/L). The Pearson correlation coefficients of TOC with $BOD_5$, $COD_{Mn}$, and TP were greater (r=0.8, p<0.01) than those of the other water quality parameters (12 species). The tributaries with high values of water quality parameters ($BOD_5$ > 3.0 mg/L, TP > 0.1 mg/L) and flowrate (Q > $0.1m^3/sec$) were selected for improving water quality according to the stream grouping method. Five tributaries (Gumicheon, Gisegokcheon, Yonghacheon, Yeongsancheon, Mijeoncheon and Yonghocheon) were classified as Group I, which require polices and plans for water quality improvement.
In the safety control and business of liquefied petroleum gas act, LPG supply using bulk lorry of liquefied petroleum gas dealer is possible only to small storage tanks of less than 3 tons in bulk lorry less 10 tons. The government has announced plans to extend the bulk lorry supply to storage tanks of less than 10 tons, reflecting improved safety management capabilities of liquefied petroleum gas dealer. Therefore, in order to supply LPG to the storage tank stably through the bulk lorry, the technical evaluation of the existing bulk lorry LPG supply system is needed. In this study, we will investigate the status of LPG supply system in Korea through bulk lorry and investigate safe LPG supply method. First, we conducted a survey on the supply of LPG storage tanks through bulk lorry to related companies to collect basic data. Based on the results of the surveys, we will conduct field surveys to provide basic data for stable LPG supply.
Since the Ming Castle located in Nanjing was designated by the Government of China as a cultural property in 1988, the Nanjing city government has been conserving the castle according to its plan and thus restoring the historical and cultural values of Nanjing. The project is still in progress, and in this regard, a series of logistics have formulated and a lot of discussions have taken place. Likewise, Korea has been carrying out multidirectional policies to conserve and utilize castles lying throughout the country, appreciating the historical and cultural resources of castles lying throughout the country, and at the same time gets down to designation as the World Heritage. This study focused on how Nanjing, not only a castle city but also a historical city, had established a principle and legal foundation regarding the protection of the Ming Castle, especially on how the problems, which might continually arise in a process where a scheme reached a working stage, had been solved. The problem-solving process is expected to have great implications for Korea in a similar situation. Hereat, this study analyzed the project plans formulated seasonally and gathered data on practical operation by conducting interviews with hands-on workers. The results showed that Nanjing had carried out policies to utilize the castles as tourism resources by harmonizing cityscape and ecological environment, but that it well conserved castles without damaging cultural assets. The stereoscopic protection system for the Ming Castle, based on the consideration of historical and cultural environments, may provide practical and useful data for Korea's administration mapping out for a castle conservation policy and designation as the UNESCO World Heritage.

This study applied the LANDIS-II model to the forest vegetation of the study area in Yeongdong-gun, Korea to identify climate effects on ecosystems of forest vegetation. The main purpose of the study is to examine the long-term changes in forest aboveground biomass(AGB) under three different climate change scenarios; The baseline climate scenario is to maintain the current climate condition; the RCP 4.5 scenario is a stabilization scenario to employ of technologies and strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions; the RCP 8.5 scenario is increasing greenhouse gas emissions over time representative with 936ppm of $CO_2$ concentration by 2100. The vegetation survey and tree-ring analysis were conducted to work out the initial vegetation maps and data for operation of the LANDIS model. Six types of forest vegetation communities were found including Quercus mongolica - Pinus densiflora community, Quercus mongolica community, Pinus densiflora community, Quercus variabilis-Quercus acutissima community, Larix leptolepis afforestation and Pinus koraiensis afforestation. As for changes in total AGB under three climate change scenarios, it was found that RCP 4.5 scenario featured the highest rate of increase in AGB whereas RCP 8.5 scenario yielded the lowest rate of increase. These results suggest that moderately elevated temperatures and $CO_2$ concentrations helped the biomass flourish as photosynthesis and water use efficiency increased, but huge increase in temperature ($above+4.0^{\circ}C$) has resulted in the increased respiration with increasing temperature. Consequently, Species productivity(Biomass) of trees decrease as the temperature is elevated drastically. It has been confirmed that the dominant species in all scenarios was Quercus mongolica. Like the trends shown in the changes of total AGB, it revealed the biggest increase in the AGB of Quercus mongolica under the RCP 4.5 scenario. AGB of Quercus mongolica and Quercus variabilis decreased in the RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5 scenarios after 2050 but have much higher growth rates of the AGB starting from 2050 under the baseline scenario. Under all scenarios, the AGB of coniferous species was eventually perished in 2100. In particular they were extinguished in early stages of the RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5 scenarios. This is because of natural selection of communities by successions and the failure to adapt to climate change. The results of the study could be expected to be effectively utilized to predict changes of the forest ecosystems due to climate change and to be used as basic data for establishing strategies for adaptation climate changes and the management plans for forest vegetation restoration in ecological restoration fields.
In this study, a method for an integrated flood risk mapping was proposed that simultaneously considers the flood inundation map indicating the degree of risk and the disaster vulnerability index. This method creates a new disaster map that can be used in actual situations by providing various and specific information on a single map. In order to consider the human, social and economic factors in the disaster map, the study area was divided into exposure, vulnerability, responsiveness, and recovery factors. Then, 7 indicators for each factor were extracted using the GIS tool. The data extracted by each indicator was classified into grades 1 to 5, and the data was selected as a disaster vulnerability index and used for integrated risk mapping by factor. The risk map for each factor, which overlaps the flood inundatoin map and the disaster vulnerability index factor, was used to establish an evacuation plan by considering regional conditions including population, assets, and buildings. In addition, an integrated risk analysis method that considers risks while converting to a single vulnerability through standardization of the disaster vulnerability index was proposed. This is expected to contribute to the establishment of preparedness, response and recovery plans for providing detailed and diverse information that simultaneously considers the flood risk including social, humanistic, and economic factors.
