  • This paper describes the conversion system which translates wordprocessor file into ODIF(Open Document Interchange Format) data stream for document interchange between heterogeneous systems and applications. We design the translator according to ODA of international base standard, FOD26 of international funtional standard, and a BosukGul V file for source document file. This system is implemented using the Microsoft Windows and the ODAC(ODA Consortium) toolkit in the PC environment.

  • The minimum distance between tunnel and interchange has several steps to go through for road users; when road user comes out of tunnel, he/she reads information on road sign and tries to change the lane, and then reaches the destination (interchange). So that's why that minimum distance between tunnel and interchange has to be designed to reflect human factors sufficiently for road's users. This study aims to set for minimum distance between tunnel and interchange with involved human factors. People aged from their twenties to their seventies took part in this experiment by using driving simulator. As a result, the minimum distance between them was loom long. When it comes to this study for minimum distance between tunnel and interchange, this study will be significant in some ways reason why this method can be applied to all road facilities for road safety on scientific basis. In the near future, It will make a recommendation concerning the most suitable data for road safety by contributing better guideline.

  • Electronic Data Interchange(EDI) is a relatively new technique around the world and enables the firm more competitive because of transmitting computer-generated documents directly to a firm's trading partner's computer across a telecommunication network. This study investigates the relationship among the organizational characteristics and information systems(IS) maturity, and the extent of internal and external diffusion of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) in Korean firms. The data for this study were collected from 131 firms that have implemented EDI. The results of t-test show that subgroups classified by industry, the extent of decentralization and formalization, and IS maturity, except the size of organization, are not different in the extent EDI diffusion. Also, the results of multiple regression analysis show that the size of organization is the major predictor of internal diffusion, and IS maturity and the size of organization are the major predictors in external diffusion of EDI. This study implies that the size of organization among organization characteristics and IS maturity should be considered as important variables for the diffusion of EDI system.

  • The M&S community needs an environmental data representation and interchange mechanism which not only satisfies the requirements of today's systems, but can be extended to meet future data sharing needs. This mechanism must allow for the standard representation of, and access to data. It must support databases containing integrated terrain, ocean, atmosphere, and space data. The SEDRIS provides environment data users and producers with a clearly defined interchange specification. In this paper I present the method to extract the data attributes contained in synthetic environment domain using SEDRIS technology and API.

  • In this paper, we design a model of security management in the EDI(Electronic Data Interchange) system implemented on the basis of ITU-T X.400 series. First of all, we defined requirements and functions for providing the security management facility in the EDI system which manipulates a lot of commercial documents. The model to satisfy the requirements is also designed for SEDI (Secure EDI) system which provides security services.

  • PURPOSES : The objective was to develop the advanced method which could not explain each observation's specific characteristic in the present negative binomial method that results in under-estimation of the standard error(t-value inflation) and affects the confidence of whole derived results. METHODS : This study dealt with traffic accidents occurring within interchange segment on highway main line with RPNB(Random Parameter Negative Binomial) method that enables to take account of heterogeneity. RESULTS : As a result, AADT and lighting installation type on the road were revealed to have random parameter and in terms of other geometric variables, all were derived as fixed parameter(same effect on every segment). Also, marginal effects were adapted to analyze the relative effects on traffic accidents. CONCLUSIONS : This study proves that RPNB method which considers each observation's specific characteristics is better fitted to the accident data with geometrics. Thus, it is recommended that RPNB model or other methods which could consider the heterogeneity needs to be adapted in accident analysis.

  • Synthetic environment data used in defense M&S fields, which came from various organization and source, are consumed and managed by their own native database system in distributed environment. But to manage these diverse data while interoperation in HLA/RTI environment, neutral synthetic environment data model is necessary to transmit the data between native database. By the support of DMSO, SEDRIS was developed to achieve this requirement and this specification guarantees loss-less data representation, interchange and interoperability. In this research, to use SEDRIS as a standard simulation database, base research, visualization for validation, data interchange experiment through test-bed was done. This paper shows each research case, result and future research direction, to propose standardized SEDRIS usage process.

  • The research aims to help merchant acquiring institutions gain a better insight on what merchant establishments in the Singapore market perceive of the costs they incur due to credit card acceptance. The research attempts to study the Singapore market and establish if increased credit card usage does increase costs for the merchant establishments that accept credit cards, this will help to acquire institutions in Singapore have a better understanding of merchant perceptions and what drives or deters credit card acceptance in the Singapore market. The survey was based on an interview of merchant establishments and the views of the merchants and was not based on their financial data. As a first step, the variables used in the survey were tested for interdependence using Chi-square tests; subsequently data reduction using factor analysis was performed and finally linear regression to establish a relation between dependent and independent variables. Merchant establishment believe accepting credit cards and increasing volume is costlier compared to another form of payment, but have mixed awareness about interchange fee. It also indicated that interchange fee and cardholder benefits are independent of the merchant establishments. The study only broadly attempts to gauge merchants view if increased credit card usage has increased costs for them.
