  • In this study, we have analyzed the cost of korea high-speed rail project. The predicted cost in planning phase and adjustment data to 5th year are collected. Then, predicted cost is compared with adjustment in year/item/system base. We make a project history table for criteria to review project history and research & development activity. We have developed CBS(cost breakdown structure) and allocated adjustment data to them. It is shown that cost prediction related to research St development activity in planning phase is relatively correct.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a scale of free nursing home adjustment for the elderly in Korea. Method: The developmental processes were construction of a conceptual framework, development of preliminary items, verification of content validity, twice data gathering, verification of construct validity, and reliability of final items. The first 53 preliminary items were obtained through review of literatures about nursing home adjustment and in depth interviews with 5 staffs of nursing home. These items were reviewed by five specialists for content validity and 39 items were chosen. The first data was collected from 107 elderly residing in 3 nursing homes and the second survey was from 147 residents who were living in five nursing homes. Finally this data was analyzed for construct validity and reliability. Result: There were 23 final items which were sorted into 5 factors. The factors were identified as 'Relocation distress symptom'(8items), 'Making friends'(4items), 'Acceptance of new residence'(6items), 'Difficulty in group life'(3items), and 'Having self-worth'(2items). The cumulative percent of variance was 53.466%. The reliability of the scale, Cronbach's alpha was .837. Conclusion: The result of this study could be used for measuring nursing home adjustment of the elderly. However, for further validity and reliability, repeated researches are needed.

Teachers rated each child using the Emotion Regulation Scale (Lee, 1997) and School Adjustment Scale (Chi & Jung, 2006). The data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, t-test, correlation analysis, and stepwise regressions. The children's emotion regulation and school adjustment were differed by sex of the child. The girls were assessed to be better adapted in emotion regulation and school adjustment than the boys. The children's emotion regulation was positively related to the children's school adjustment. In addition, the children's emotion regulation predicted how well they would adjust to school life.

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to identify the mediating effects of self-efficacy between academic stress and college adjustment in first year nursing students. Method: Data were collected from 396 first year nursing students from 3 junior colleges and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlations and structural equation model (SEM) with PASW 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 programs. Results: There was a negative relationship between academic stress and college adjustment but a positive relationship between self-efficacy and college adjustment. There was a partial mediating effect of self-efficacy between academic stress and college adjustment. Conclusion: The results indicate a need to develop programs that effectively promote the self-efficacy of first year nursing students to decrease academic stress and maximize college adjustment. Further studies are needed in which other factors that could affect college adjustment are examined.

Participant were 119 fifth-and sixth-grade elementary school studens(58 boys, 61 girts). Perceived social support from care teacher, internal locus of control, and school adjustment were measured by self-reports of institutionalized children. The data were analyzed, in SPSS Win program, by Cronbach's α, T-test, Pearson Correlations, Simple Regression, Hierarchical Multiple Regression. As expected, results confirm that perceived social support was associated positively with internal locus of control and school adjustment. further, perceived social support also exerts indirect effects on school adjustment, mediated by internal locus of control. However, none of these variables differed by gender and the duration in the institution.
