2층형 제진 강판을 이용한 오도 조건에 따른 제진재의 손실계수 및 탄성계수 측정 (A Study on the Evaluation of the Loss Factor and Young′s Modulus of Damping Materials on Temperature Condition)

  • The characteristic values of damping materials are variant on frequency and temperature. We measure the characteristic values(loss factor, young\\\\`s modulus) of damping materials in vibration test. We can not measure characteristic values of damping materials by themselves. So, we proposed a method, sticking damping material to thin steel beam and measuring of characteristic values of damping material on frequency and temperature. We didn\\\\`t use constraining layer but we measured characteristic values on conditioning temperature.

  • The characteristic tests of reduced-scale high damping and lead rubber bearings are performed by changing the shear displacements and the vertical loads. The test frequency is 0.5Hz. Test results show that the shear stiffnesses obtained for both bearings are less than target values, but the damping values are greater than the targets. The shear stiffness and damping of lead are larger than those of high damping bearings. The shear-deformation characteristic values such as stiffness, damping and yield load values are changed according to the level of design vertical loads.

  • 복합재료에 삽입된 점탄성 재료는 복합재구조물의 감쇠물성을 크게 증가시킨다. 일반적으로 점탄성 재료는 등방성이므로 모든 방향의 감쇠물성이 동일하다. 최근 재료의 방향에 따라 감쇠물성이 변하는 이방성 감쇠재료의 개발이 요구되고 있다. 이방성 감쇠재료는 점탄성 재료 내부에 얇은 섬유를 삽입하여 제작한다. 삽입된 섬유는 댐핑재료의 강성에 큰 영향을 주며 강성은 고전 적층판 이론을 따르게 된다. 본 논문에서는 Ni와 Adams의 이론을 이용하여 손실계수를 평가하였다. 그리고 방향성 있는 감쇠재료의 영향을 평가하기 위해 저속충격 거동해석을 수행하였다. 해석결과로부터 방향성 있는 감쇠재료는 복합적층판의 진동 및 감쇠특성에 큰 영향을 줌을 보였다

Experimental study of vibration characteristics of FRP cables based on Long-Gauge strain

  • Steel cables as the most important components are widely used in the certain types of structures such as cable-supported bridges, but the long-span structures may result in an increase in fatigue under high stress and corrosion of steel cables. The traditional steel cable is becoming a more evident hindrance. Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) cables with lightweight, high-strength are widely used in civil engineering, but there is little research in vibrational characteristics of FRP cables, especially on the damping characteristic. This article studied the two methods to evaluate dynamical damping characteristic of basalt FRP(BFRP) and glass FRP(GFRP) cables. First, the vibration tests of the B/G FRP cables with different diameter and different cable force were executed. Second, the cables forces were calculated using dynamic strain, static strain and dynamic acceleration respectively, which were further compared with the measured force. Third, experimental modal damping of each cables was calculated by the half power point method, and was compared with the calculation by Rayleigh damping theory and energy dissipation damping theory. The results indicate that (1) The experimental damping of FRP cables decreases with the increase of cable force, and the trend of experimental damping changes is roughly similar with the theoretical damping. (2) The distribution of modal damping calculated by Rayleigh damping theory is closer to the experimental results, and the damping performance of GFRP cables is better than BFRP cables.

  • In the stroke sensitive shock absorber, the oil path is formed along the internal cylinder surface to make the eli flow during piston's upper-lower reciprocation movement. With constraint to the conventional shock absorbers which show one dynamic characteristic curve, stroke sensitive shock absorber shows two kins of dynamic characteristic according to the stroke, In the study, analysis on the damping force generation process and dynamic behaviour characteristics of stroke sensitive shock absorber is performed, the valve characteristics being considered more precise information about design and damping performance analysis.

인체 진동 모델을 이용한 시트 동적 설계 (Design of dynamic Characteristic of Seat using Estimated Biomechanical Model)

  • This paper deals with the design of a car seat for enhancing dynamic ride quality using a Biomechanical Model that was developed from the measured whole-body vibration characteristic. For evaluation of seat ride quality, the z-axis acceleration of floor as an input of biomechanical model was measured on a driving passenger car at highway and national road. Form the floor signal and the estimated biomechanical model, overall ride value evaluated by parameter study of seat stiffness and damping. The result shows that overall ride value decreases as the seat damping increases and the sear stiffness decreases. A lot of polyurethane foams were manufactured and tried to evaluate dynamic ride quality of a seat. It is found that stiffness and damping of a seat show a linear relationship, which means the stiffness and damping are not independent each other, So the optimal seat parameters within practically achievable space are determined.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an air spring mount that has high damping characteristic. The new type air spring mount has a polyurethane core in the center. By adding the core, the air spring mount shows excellent damping effect and good resistance to lateral force. This study includes both the analytical study and the experimental study of the new type air spring mount.

Damping and frequency of twin-cables with a cross-link and a viscous damper

  • Vibration mitigation of cables or hangers is one of the crucial problems for cable supported bridges. Previous research focused on the behaviors of cable with dampers or crossties, which could help engineering community apply these mitigation devices more efficiently. However, less studies are available for hybrid applied cross-ties and dampers, especially lack of both analytical and experimental verifications. This paper studied damping and frequency of two parallel identical cables with a connection cross-tie and an attached damper. The characteristic equation of system was derived based on transfer matrix method. The complex characteristic equation was numerically solved to find the solutions. Effects of non-dimensional spring stiffness and location on the maximum cable damping, the corresponding optimum damper constant and the corresponding frequency of lower vibration mode were further addressed. System with twin small-scale cables with a cross-link and a viscous damper were tested. The damping and frequency from the test were very close to the analytical ones. The two branches of solutions: in-phase modes and the out-of-phase modes, were identified; and the two branches of solutions were different for damping and frequency behaviors.

Sensorless Active Damping Method for an LCL Filter in Grid-Connected Parallel Inverters for Battery Energy Storage Systems

  • A sensorless active damping scheme for LCL filters in grid-connected parallel inverters for battery energy storage systems is proposed. This damping method is superior to the conventional notch filter and virtual damping methods with respect to robustness against the variation of the resonance of the filter and unnecessary additional current sensors. The theoretical analysis of the proposed damping method is explained in detail, along with the characteristic comparison to the conventional active damping methods. The performance verification of the proposed sensorless active damping method shows that its performance is comparable to that of the conventional virtual damping method, even without additional current sensors. Finally, simulation and experimental results are provided to examine the overall characteristics of the proposed method.
