Background: The present study was undertaken to examine the immunological effects of pentabrominated diphenyl ether (penta-BDE) and decabrominated diphenyl ether (deca-BDE) on the immune system of the dams and the developmental immune system of the offsprings. Methods: In this study, mated female C57BL/6J mice were orally administered penta-BDE, deca-BDE or corn oil for 5 weeks, from gestational day 6 to lactational day 21. Results: The body weight of PND21 exposed to penta-BDE was significantly decreased relative to control mice, but that of post-natal day 63 (PND63) were recovered. Orally dosed dams with penta-BDE had significantly smaller absolute and relative spleen masses than control mice. Absolute and relative spleen and thymus masses of PND21 exposed to penta-BDE were significantly decreased over control. The exposure of dams and PND21 with penta-BDE reduced the number of splenocytes and thymocytes. As results of hematologic analysis, percentage WBC and percentage neutrophils increased in dams with deca-BDE. Splenic T cell proliferation in dams and PND21 exposed to penta-BDE was increased, and there were no significant difference in splenic B cell proliferation in all treatment groups. As results of flow cytometric analysis of splenocyte, percentage total T cell, Th cell and Tc cell in PND21 exposed to penta-BDE was slightly increased, and percentage macrophage in dams and PND21 exposed to deca-BDE was decreased. The ELISA results of antibody production show no significant difference in all treatment groups relative to controls. Conclusion: These results imply that PBDEs given to the dam were transferred to the offspring during gestation and lactation, and PBDEs transferred from the dam affect immune system of offspring.
The distribution aspect and extinction threat evaluation of the endangered species, Rhodeus pseudosericeus were investigated from 2012 to 2017 in Korea for the subject of this study. The number of appearance sites in the past literature of available and identified R. pseudosericeus was 26. During the study period, the samples of R. pseudosericeus were collected in 44 sites (Hangang River 35 sites, Sapgyocheon Stream 4 sites, Daecheoncheon Stream 5 sites) among the noted 214 sampling stations investigated. Among these, the newly appearance streams were Ilricheon Stream, Samsancheon Stream, Bangyecheon Stream and Hanpocheon Stream in the Hangang River. In addition, the habitats and populations in the upper Seomgang River (Hoengseong Dam), lower Heukcheon Stream, Muhancheon Stream and Daecheoncheon Stream decreased due to dam construction, river work, water pollution, and the spread of the exotic species Micropterus salmoides. The main habitat of R. pseudosericeus was the middle-upper stream of clean water with slow water velocity, sand-pebble bottoms and lots of aquatic plants. Given this evidence as noted for the 30.2% reduction in occupancy within 10 years, due to the qualitative decline of habitat, the overfishing risk of ornamental fish and the spread of M. salmoides, in this case R. pseudosericeus is considered to be Vulnerable (VU A2cde) based on the IUCN Red List categories and criteria.

The water quality impacts of forest fragmentation at the Doam-dam watershed were evaluated in this study. For this ends, the watershed scale model, Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model was utilized. To exclude the effects of different magnitude and patterns in weather, the same weather data of 1985 was used because of significant differences in precipitation in year 1985 and 2000. The water quality impacts of forest fragmentation were analyzed temporarily and spatially because of its nature. The flow rates for Winter and Spring has increased with forest fragmentations by $8,366m^3/month$ and $72,763m^3/month$ in the S1 subwatershed, experiencing the most forest fragmentation within the Doam-dam watershed. For Summer and Fall, the flow rate has increased by $149,901m^3/month$ and $107,109m^3/month$, respectively. It is believed that increased flow rates contributed significant amounts of soil erosion and diffused nonpoint source pollutants into the receiving water bodies. With the forest fragmentation in the S1 watershed, the average sediment concentration values for Winter and Spring increased by 5.448mg/L and 13.354mg/L, respectively. It is believed that the agricultural area, which were forest before the forest fragmentation, are responsible for increased soil erosion and sediment yield during the spring thaw and snow melts. For Spring and Fall, the sediment concentration values increased by 20.680mg/L and 24.680mg/L, respectively. Compared with Winter and Spring, the increased precipitation during Summer and Fall contributed more soil erosion and increased sediment concentration value in the stream. Based on the results obtained from the analysis performed in this study, the stream flow and sediment concentration values has increased with forest fragmentation within the S1 subwatershed. These increased flow and soil erosion could contribute the eutrophication in the receiving water bodies. This results show that natural functionalities of the forest, such as flood control, soil erosion protection, and water quality improvement, can be easily lost with on-going forest fragmentation within the watershed. Thus, the minimize the negative impacts of forest fragmentation, comprehensive land use planning at watershed scale needs to be developed and implemented based on the results obtained in this research.

This study performed the dam watershed storm runoff modeling using GPM(Global Precipitation Measurement) satellite rain and KIMSTORM2(KIneMatic wave STOrm Runoff Model 2) distributed model. For YongdamDam watershed(930㎢), three heavy rain events of 25th August 2014, 11th September 2017, and 26th June 2018 were selected and tested for 4 cases of spatial rainfalls such as (a) Kriging interpolated data using ground observed data at 7 stations, (b) original GPM data, (c) GPM corrected by CM(Conditional Merging), and GPM corrected by GDA(Geographical Differential Analysis). For the 4 kinds of data(Kriging, GPM, CM-GPM, and GDA-GPM), the KIMSTORM2 was calibrated respectively using the observed flood discharges at 3 water level gauge stations(Cheoncheon, Donghyang, and Yongdam) with parameters of initial soil moisture contents, stream Manning's roughness coefficient, and effective hydraulic conductivity. The total average Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency(NSE) for the 3 events and 3 stations was 0.94, 0.90, 0.94, and 0.94, determination coefficient(R2) was 0.96, 0.92, 0.97 and 0.96, the volume conservation index(VCI) was 1.03, 1.01, 1.03 and 1.02 for Kriging, GPM, CM-GPM, and GDA-GPM applications respectively. The CM-GPM and GDA-GPM showed better results than the original GPM application for peak runoff and runoff volume simulations, and they improved NSE, R2, and VCI results.

The TANK model has been widely used in rainfall-runoff modeling due to its simplicity of concept and computation while achieving forecast accuracy. A major barrier to the model application is to determine parameter values for ungauged watersheds, leading to the need of a method for the parameter estimation. The objective of this study was to develop regression equations for estimating the 3th TANK model parameters considering their variations for the ungauged watersheds. Thirty watersheds of dam sites and stream stations were selected for this study. A genetic algorithm was used to optimize TANK model parameters. Watershed characteristics used in this study include land use percent, watershed area, watershed length, and watershed average slope. Generalized equations were derived by correlating to the optimized parameters and the watershed characteristics. The results showed that the TANK model, with the parameters determined by the developed regression equations, performed reasonably with 0.60 to 0.85 of Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency for daily runoff. The developed regression equations for the TANK model can be applied for the runoff simulation particularly for the ungauged watersheds, which is common for upstream of agricultural reservoirs in Korea.
A laterally averaged 2-dimensional hydrodynamic model is newly developed. The coordinate system is first transformed to minimize the effects of irregularity of bottom and surface. The advection terms of the governing equations are then discretized by an upwind scheme. By employing an explicit scheme for longitudinal direction and an implicit scheme for vertical direction, the model is free from restriction of temporal step size caused by a relatively small grid ratio. To demonstrate the applicability of the model, calculated time histories of free surface displacements and distributions of velocity and salinity are compared with the field measurements of the Keum River Estuary before construction of the estuary dam. A reasonable agreement is observed between them.
A grid based physically distributed model analyzes rainfall-runoff using physical parameters and grid-typed spatial and hydrological data. This study have developed a real time runoff modelling system using GRM RT(Grid based Rainfall-runoff Model Real Time) which is a real time flow analysis module in GRM, a grid based physically distributed rainfall-runoff model. Weather radar data received in real time are calibrated by using real time AWS from Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA), and they are applied to real time runoff modeling. And the runoff model is calibrated by using observed discharges from a water level gauge in real time. This study have designed and implemented the databases necessary to construct the real time runoff modelling system, and established the process of a real time runoff modelling. And the performances of the developed system have been evaluated. The system have been applied to Nerinheon watershed located in the upstream of Soyanggang Dam and the application results are evaluated.

Traditional semiconductor process control has been performed through statistical process control techniques in a constant process-recipe conditions. However, the complexity of the interior of the etching apparatus plasma physics, quantitative modeling of process conditions due to the many difficult features constraints apply simple SISO control scheme. The introduction of the Advanced Process Control (APC) as a way to overcome the limits has been using the APC process control methodology run-to-run, wafer-to-wafer, or the yield of the semiconductor manufacturing process to the real-time process control, performance, it is possible to improve production. In addition, it is possible to establish a hierarchical structure of the process control made by the process control unit and associated algorithms and etching apparatus, the process unit, the overall process. In this study, the research focused on the methodology and monitoring improvements in performance needed to consider the process management of future developments in the semiconductor manufacturing process in accordance with the age of the APC analysis in real applications of the semiconductor manufacturing process and process fault diagnosis and control techniques in progress.

The purpose of present study performed 27 CFRD cases analyses to predict and effectively use post-construction crest settlement, face slab deformation, and leakage as indexes for the maintenance and management of concrete faced rockfill dams(CFRD). The results showed that the range of post-construction crest settlement suggested by Sherard and Cooke (1987), and Clements (1984) had a good agreement in the case analyses using rockfills with very high intact strength, but it had a trend which underestimated crest settlement in the cases using rockfills with medium to high intact strength. The leakage case analyses showed that leakage is mainly caused by face slab deformation due to the water load, the maximum leakage in general was observed during the first reservoir filling, and leakage was rapidly increasing when the dam height exceeds 125m.
