28 direction of the past Korean geomagnetic field were determined by archaeomagnetic measurements of 734 oriented samples, collected from baked earths of remains in the southern Korea. These data cover periods of A.D. 39C, A.D. 1317 and A.D. 15-l6C. It is noted that Korean geomagnetic field data in 5-6C arc similar to those of contemporary Japanese geomagnetic field, but Korean geomagnetic field data in A.D. 3-4C deflect more easterly than contemporary Japanese geomagnetic field. The observed large difference of geomagnetic field direction between Korea and Japan suggests the existence of a prominent local geomagnetic anomaly in the vicinity of Japan and Korea in the period of A.D. 3-4C. An approximate figure of Korean archaeomagnetic secular curve for the periods of A.D. 3-6C and A.D. 7-9C was obtained. This curve is sure to be helpful for Korean archaeology to data the last firing of baked earths accompanied with no relics.
It has been known that D.C. breakdown Voltage is lower than A.C. breakdown Voltage in insulatingoil, but there are still many unvivid points at electric conduction in breakdown or under of high electric field. This study measured the electric current-electric field characteristics (I-E characteristics) and the breakdown Voltage under of D.C. electric field of insulating oil using the system of electrodes that are near the Uniform electric field with a result. I can study, electric conduction in area of high electric field depends upon the Schottky effect. The liquidity of breakdown electric field takes place by the local concentration of electric field. The longer gap is and the more electric current is the more breakdown Voltage decreased. There are not almost the change of electric current-electric field characteristics by materials of electrode.
This paper treats A.C. arc movement in a transverse A.C. magnetic field at atmospheric pressure with the purpose of selecting electrode materials and obtaining detailed data for design of A.C. air circuit breaker, plasma accelerator and plasma jet. Arc velocities in transverse magnetic field are measured by varying arc current, arc voltage, gap length, magnetic flux density and the erosion of electrode surface, which influence arc velocities. The main results are; 1)Arc velocities in transverse magnetic field have different values according to electrodes of various materials and decrease in a descending order of cold cathode, medium cathode and hot cathode. 2)Arc velocities in transverse magnetic field increases with arc current, arc voltage, gap length and magnetic flux densith and on the other hand decrease with the increase of electrode surface erosion. 3)D.C.arc velocity in D.C. magnetic field is higher than A.C. arc velocity in A.C. magnetic field of the same value.

The performance of Terfenol-D, the commercially available magnetostrictive material, is highly dependent on the prestress, magnetic field intensity and temperature. This paper presents an experimental investigation of the temperature effect on the magnetostriction in Terfenol-D. The effects of both prestress and magnetic field on the magnetostriction are also presented. Experimental results show that both the prestress and magnetic field on the magnetostriction are significant. It is also observed that the displacement decreases slightly to around 40$^{\circ}C$, then increases to 80$^{\circ}C$. It indicates that the displacement decreases due to the reduced magnetization, and increases due to the thermal expansion, as the temperature increases. It means that the reduced magnetization affects more in the displacement change up to 40$^{\circ}C$, and the thermal expansion affects more in the displacement change beyond 40$^{\circ}C$.
D-E hysteresis loops have been measured for the 65/35 mole % copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and trifluoroethylene over wide temperature range. The remanent polarization and the coercive field at room temperature were estimated to be 75 mC/m$^{2}$ and 55 MV/m respectively. D-E hysteresis loops were observed even below the glass transition temperature(-20.deg. C) and the remanent polarization and the coercive field were larger, as the temperature lower. It seems that the remanent polarization and the coercive field depend on the amorphous region as well as crystalline region in this copolymer. And the ferroelectric-to-paraelectric phase transition was observed at 90.deg. C on heating and 80'C on cooling. Double hysteresis loops were observed at the temperature(85.deg. C) of paraelectric phase.
Nature of magnetic creep phenomena in low coercive force films(Ni 80%-Fe 20%) in form of narrow channels imbedded in high coercive force films is studied in this work. Aluminium is evaporated on the hot glass substrate and eched free in the shape of narrow channels by photoetoetching method. then, Permalloy(Ni 80%, Fe 20%) is deposited on these Aluminium substrate under the uniform field of 30(Oe) to introduce anisotropy. Permalloy film on Al has a high coercive force and one on the substrate devoid of Al has how coercive force. Magnetic revers domain which is introduced at the end of channel grows under the a.c field in hard axis direction, in spite of very weak d.c field in easy axis direction. This creeping is investigated as a function of external fields and channel widths. Permalloy film thickness is 500.angs.-900.angs. and channel widths are 40, 51, 65, 81, 115.mu. respectively. Creeping increases as external field increases while it decreases with channel width decrease. Creep velocity in channels depends on the a.c field along hard axis, d.c field along easy axis and channel widths and its range is 1-10cm/sec in this experiment. From study of dependence of creep velocity on channel width, it can be concluded that creep velocity is expressed in form of v=v$_{0}$ exp .alpha.(H-H$_{0}$) where .alpha. is a function of a.c field along hard axis and H is driving d.c field along easy axis, H$_{0}$ is not a coercive force of film as usuall expected but the d.c threshold field along easy axis which is a function of channel width. This characteristic is also confirmed by the study of dependence of creep velocity upon easy axis field strength. Value of .alpha. obtained is 1.3-2.3cm/sec We depending upon film charactor, hard axis field strength and frequency.uency.
Empirical force-field method has been applied to D-sorbitol, the crystal structure of which has been studied by the single crystal X-ray and neutron diffraction analyses. The calculated C-C bond lengths agree with those observed within 0.009${\AA}$. The C-O bond lengths show a larger deviation of 0. 023${\AA}$. The calculated C-C-C and C-C-O valence angles agree with those observed within $2.3^{\circ}$ and $1.9^{\circ}$respectively. Because torsion angles are influenced by packing forces, they show considerably flarger r. m. s. deviations. Calculations of the conformational energies of the model compound at selected C(1)-C(2)-C(3)-C(4) torsion angles made with the program MMI, produced result that the prediction of the observed preferred conformation of the carbon chain appeares to be less satisfactory.
D-E hysteresis loops have been measured for the 65/35 mole % copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and trifIuoroethyIene over wide temperature range. The results were analyzed and discussed. The remanent polarization and the coercive field at room termperature were estimated to be 75 $mC/m^3$ and 55 MV/m respectively. D-E hysteresis loops were observed even below the glass transiation temperature$-20^{\circ}C$) and the remanent polarization and the coercive field were larger than larger, as the temperature lower. It seems that the remanent polarization and the coercive field depend on the amorphous region as well as crystalline region in this copolymer. And the ferroelectric-to-paraelectric phase transition was observed at $90^{\circ}C$ on heating and $80^{\circ}C$ on cooling. Double hysteresis loops were observed at the temperature($85^{\circ}C$) of paraelectric phase.

For fabricating high T$\sub$c/ superconducting deposited film, novel electrophoretic deposition technique applied to deposit surface charged Particles on metal substrate with oxy d.c field has been studied. The electric properties of superconducting film don't improve easily because the particles of deposition film are deposited randomly on substrate and don't make orientation affected to its critical current density. In this paper, we studied conventional electrophoresis in addition to a.c field assisted for the improvement of BSCCO superconducting film with high orientation of deposition particles.
Streaming electrification on insulating paper and pressboard under D.C. and A.C. electric field was investigated by using paper tubes and oil circulation apparatus. At first, flowing of static charges as measured with no electric field. As the temperature of oil increased, the measured current curve hows peak. As the velocity increased, it shows increasing exponential curve. Then, we applied A.C. and D.C. electric field on paper tube and the current from relaxation tank to earth was measured, which other factors such as temperature and velocity were varied like case of no electric field. The ions in oil carry the charges. So electric field makes asymmetry effect, and electrophoretic effect on ions in oil. We find that as the electric field intensity increased, the charges which were made by electric double layer were increased. The charge vs. velocity curve made peak point at a velocity.
