  • In this paper, we investigate the superstability problem for the pexiderized cosine functional equations f(x+y) +f(x−y) = 2g(x)h(y), f(x + y) + g(x − y) = 2f(x)g(y), f(x + y) + g(x − y) = 2g(x)f(y). Consequently, we have generalized the results of stability for the cosine($d^{\prime}Alembert$) and the Wilson functional equations by J. Baker, $P.\;G{\check{a}}vruta$, R. Badora and R. Ger, and G.H. Kim.

Scalar form of dynamic equations for a cluster of bodies

  • The dynamic equations for an arbitrary cluster comprising rigid spheres or assemblies of spheres (subclusters) encountered in granular-type systems are considered. The system is treated within the framework of multibody dynamics. It is shown that for an arbitrary cluster topology the governing equations can be given in an explicit scalar from. The derivation is based on the D'Alembert principle, on inertial coordinate system for each body and direct utilization of the path matrix describing the topology. The scalar form of the equations is important in computer simulations of flow of granular-type materials. An illustrative example of a three-body system is given.

Numerical Analysis of Free Vibration of Parabolic Arches with Hinged Ends (양단(兩端)힌지 포물선(抛物線)아치의 자유진동(自由振動)에 관한 연구(研究))

  • In this paper, the governing differential equations for the free vibration of uniform parabolic arches are derived on the basis of equilibrium equations of a small element of arch rib and the D'Alembert principle. A trial eigen value method is used for determining the natural frequencies and mode shapes. And the Runge-Kutta fourth order integration technique is also used in this method to perform the integration of the differential equations. A detailed study is made of the first mode for the symmetrical and anti-symmetrical vibrations of hinged arches with the Span length equal to 10 m. The effects of the rise of arch, the radius of gyration and the rotary inertia on free vibrations are presented in detail in curves and table.

  • We find the distributional solutions of the Wilson's functional equations $$u{\circ}T+u{\circ}T^{\sigma}-2u{\otimes}v=0,\\u{\circ}T+u{\circ}T^{\sigma}-2v{\otimes}u=0,$$ where $u,v{\in}{\mathcal{D}}^{\prime}({\mathbb{R}}^n)$, the space of Schwartz distributions, T(x, y) = x + y, $T^{\sigma}(x,y)=x+{\sigma}y$, $x,y{\in}{\mathbb{R}}^n$, ${\sigma}$ an involution, and ${\circ}$, ${\otimes}$ are pullback and tensor product of distributions, respectively. As a consequence, we solve the $Erd{\ddot{o}}s$' problem for the Wilson's functional equations in the class of locally integrable functions. We also consider the Ulam-Hyers stability of the classical Wilson's functional equations $$f(x+y)+f(x+{\sigma}y)=2f(x)g(y),\\f(x+y)+f(x+{\sigma}y)=2g(x)f(y)$$ in the class of Lebesgue measurable functions.

  • The governing differential equations and the boundary conditions for the free vibration of fixed-ended uniform parabolic arch are derived on the basis of the equilibrium equations and the D'Alembert principle. The effect of rotary inertia as well as extensional and flexural deformations is considered in the governing differential equations. A trial elgenvalue method is used for determining the natural frequencies. The Runge-Kutta method is used in this method to perform the integration of the differential equations. The detailed studies are made of the lowest three vibration frequencies for the span length equal to 10m. The effect of the rotary inertia is analyzed and it's numerical data are presented in table. And as the numerical results the frequency versus the rise of arch and the radius of gyration are presented in figures.

  • This paper deals with dynamics and control of a PRP6-DOF parallel manipulator. Dynamic modeling includes the effect of inertia of all links in the mechanism to increase modeling accuracy. Kinematic analysis about forward and inverse kinematics is also explained. Using Lagrange-D' Alambert method we get equations of motions in a link space which fully represent 6DOF motions of the manipulator.
