  • Electro-conducting Polypyrrole(PPy) films were Prepared by applying constant current in various electrolytes solutions and their capacitance properties were investigated using cyclic voltammetry. Capacitance values were strongly dependent on the electrolytes solution used in electrochemical polymerization. PPy prepared in PC/AN mixture solution containing 0.5M $LiClO_4$ with small amount water showed 401 F/g and that electrogenerated in $AN/H_2O$ mixture solution containing 0.5M $LiClO_4$ retained $70\%$ of initial capacitance after 2000 cycles.

  • Inhibitive effects of chromate, phosphate, sulfate, and borate on chloride pitting corrosion of Al have been investigated using cyclic voltammetry. During the anodic oxide growth, the critical concentration of chloride for pit initiation decreased in the order: chromate > phosphate > sulfate > borate, and the maximum pitting current density increases in the reverse order: chromate < phosphate < sulfate < borate. The decreasing pitting current density was observed in the successive polarization cycles, which was attributed to the aging of Al oxides and field relaxation at oxide/solution interface.

  • The electrodeposition in acidic aqueous electrolyte bath of cadmium telluride on gold electrodes has been studied by electrochemical analysis. Conventional cyclic voltammetry using potentiostat is considered as a reliable method to study electrochemical behavior of electrodeposition of CdTe. In this paper, the mechanism of CdTe deposition and its cyclic voltammetry were studied with the Te ion concentration, temperature, potential, and scan rate. We also investigated surface morphologies using FESEM and atomic composition of Cd and Te using EDS. Atomic composition of Cd and Te were varied with Te ion concentration in the electrolyte.

  • Poly-o-toluidine (POT) was chemically and electrochemically synthesized for the study of the electronic and steric effect of methyl substituents. It was found that the steric effect was dominant in POT. The IP 4.95 eV, EA 3.24 eV, Eg 1.71 eV of POT were found by the CV (Cyclic Voltammetry) and CCPSA (Constant Current Potentiometric Stripping Analysis).

  • This study introduces a facile strategy to prepare metal oxide/conducting polymer nanocomposites that may have promising applications in energy storage devices. Ploy aniline/nano wire manganese dioxide (PANI/NwMnO2) was synthesized by cyclic voltammetry on glassy carbon electrode. Morphology and structure of the composite, pure PANI, MnO2 nanowires were fully characterized using XRD and SEM analysis. Electrochemical studies shows excellent synergistic effect between PANI and MnO2 nanowires which results in its capacitance increase and cycle stability against PANI electrode. Specific capacitances of PANI/NwMnO2 and PANI were 456 and 190 F/g respectively. The electrochemical performance of electrodes studied using cyclic voltammetry, Galvanostatic charge/discharge and impedance spectroscopy.

  • In this paper, we fabricated a biosensor for detecting hydrogen peroxide and investigated the sensing property. We prepared a viologen and hemoglobin modified gold electrode using self-assembly and layer by layer method. The electrochemical property of the viologen derivative was characterized in 0.1 M $NaClO_4$ electrolyte solution by cyclic voltammetry. The modified electrode showed reversible electrochemical properties and high stability. From the results, the viologen can act as a charge transfer mediator for access to the electrode surface. The catalytic characteristics of the designed sensor proved that hemoglobin has been kept in its natural structure and can retain its biological activity. The designed biosensor showed a fast amperometric response, excellent linearity and low detection limit. In addition, it had high sensitivity, good reproducibility and stability.

  • Composites of platinum and multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were prepared in various reduction conditions and characterized using cyclic voltammetry. The MWNTs were functionalized with carboxylic acid and/or hydroxyl groups in acidic solutions prior to the formation of MWNT-Pt composites. Platinum nanoparticles were deposited onto the chemically-oxidized MWNTs in 1-propanol and 1,3-propanediol. The reduction of Pt precursors in other solutions could induce differences in their morphologies in composite thin films. The morphologies of MWNTs with Pt deposited were dependent on the reduction solutions, and the electrocatalytic activities on alcohols changed accordingly. The electrochemical activities of the as-prepared MWNT-Pt thin films on common alcohols such as methanol and ethanol were investigated.

  • The catalyst layer of a proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell is a mixture of polymer, carbon, and platinum. The characteristics of the catalyst layer play critical role in determining the performance of the PEM fuel cell. This research investigates the role of catalyst layer composition using a Central Composite Design (CCD) experiment with two factors which are Nafion content and carbon loading while the platinum catalyst surface area is held constant. For each catalyst layer composition, polarization curves are measured to evaluate cell performance at common operating conditions, Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), and Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) are then applied to investigate the cause of the observed variations in performance. The results show that both Nafion and carbon content significantly affect MEA performance. The ohmic resistance and active catalyst area of the cell do not correlate with catalyst layer composition, and observed variations in the cell resistance and active catalyst area produced changes in performance that were not significant relative to compositions of catalyst layers.

  • We studied the degree of variety of indigo for the electrochemical redox reaction in addition of reducing agent and the electrokinetic parameters. The electrokinetic parameters such asthe number of electron and the exchange rate constant were obtained by cyclic voltammetry. With increasing scan rate, the reduction currents of indigo were increased and the reduction potentials were shifted to the negative direction. As the results, the reduction processes of the indigo were proceeding to totally irreversible and diffusion controlled reaction. Also, exchange rate constant ($k^0$) and diffusion coefficient ($D_0$) of indigo were decreased by increasing concentration of reducing agent. We found that the less concentration, the more easily diffused and electron transferred and the product was more stable.

  • Computational calculations of molecular orbital and electrochemical redox/oxidation potentials are of very importance to determine the compound properties. The energy levels of molecular orbital were calculated by the density function theory (DFT) with exchange correction functional of local density approximation (LSA) based on the Perdew-Wang (PWC) setting and cyclic voltammetry.
