  • This study tried to propose an optimal instruction-learning model for the cyber home learning system2.0 through grounded theory. In-depth interviews were conducted to investigate causes of underachievement and the causes were categorized according to common concepts. A total of 25 causes of underachievement could be grouped into four categories and eight sub-categories, as a result. Underachievers, then, participated in the lessons utilizing the cyber home learning system2.0 and their cognitive change process about learning was analyzed from reflectional journals and in-depth interviews with a teacher. It was found that underachievers were participated in learning by passing through 5 processes; adaptation to the cyber home learning system2.0, basic knowledge learning, task implementing, rounds of group discussions, feedbacks and evaluation. Based on analysis of these five processes, this study proposed a conditional matrix for the cyber home learning system 2.0 as the most personalized model for underachieving students.

  • The aim of this study is to find the key elements for the successful introduction of a Cyber University (CU) in Korea. Since information technology (IT) has dramatically changed our lives it is inevitable for education to follow suit. The old education system was based on the following principle, of a teacher physically interacting with his or her pupils at a school. However, this is set to become infinitely more flexible with the freedom of choice given to the pupil who are now able to adopt, beyond barriers of time and space what, and how they study. All this will be made possible with the use of IT. The essentials for the CU would be a positive and flexible education paradigm, also able to satisfy students with a totally new system of education that replaces physical interaction with virtual interaction. Another point that needs to be taken into account is the number of potential students, their expectations and needs. And any national or international restrictions need to be addressed. One major hurdle for the acceptance of a CU in Korea is the vast difference between its conservative culture and directness of Western culture. Despite this, it will soon become imperative for Korea that she embraces the rapidly changing attitudes and requirements in order for the survival of the nation and an individual.

  • The aim of this study is to design a Real-time video Korean curriculum. Curriculum using real-time video, which is a variant of distance learning, teaches Korean to students studying in distant places through real-time video communication program. This is expected to supplement the lack of interaction in existing video classes and enable online simultaneous interaction, while increasing learning opportunities for Korean language students living in distance places. To find out the needs of the subjects for the curriculum design, this study conducted a one-on-one interview with 9 female married immigrants who are enrolled in the Cyber University which is opening a curriculum later. According to the survey, the students answered that they have a high intention of attending classes if the lack of interaction in existing distance classes are supplemented. Therefore, we could confirm the demand of a curriculum consisting of an overall real-time video education and multilateral individual connection. Also, we found out that there is a demand in performance rather than comprehension and a high demand for detailed feedback from the teacher. The result shows that the curriculum needs to establish performance-oriented contents to progress to an advanced level Korean Language, and include a study plain comprising of real-time interaction.

  • Elementary education in Korea has variously changed and developed during the last thirty years. Among all the progressive changes, the improvement of teaching conditions is considered to be the most fundamental one. The number of students assigned to a class or a teacher has decreased to a considerable extent. Cyber teaching-learning has been peformed at school and home, and English education has been emerged as a significant part of the Korean public education. The research issues constantly considered essential over the past three decades starting in the 1980's are those related to curricula, teaching-learning methods, training of teachers in-service, and education for upright characters. The practical and political issues should be dealt with to revise the three integrated subjects and text books into a sole integrated subject and text book, to double the credential of teachers in terms of professionalism and to decrease the number of students per teacher in Korea to the OECD level.

  • In this paper, WBI tool is designed and implemented to meet the level teaming requirements. The system is composed of management part for teacher and user part for students. The management part supports the teacher to upload the lecture notes and the testing sheets, and to evaluate the testing results. The students can study the lecture notes and examine the online tests based on their teaming level. The students can evaluate their achievement by themselves after test and can study deep learning or supplementary learning. By applying the level teaming concept, the implemented can provide the interest to the students and enhance the degree of achievement.

  • Information society, which requires knowledge-workers having creative and active problem-solving ability, needs development of on-line educational contents technique from existing teacher-oriented to learner-oriented education. Special quality of most on-line studying contents is real condition that is not satisfying on-line studying special quality that learner-oriented becomes center by lacking functions of lecture progress of teacher-oriented, contents manufacture and contents offer platform than learner-oriented. Wish to propose about way to compose existent contents offer platform and complementary situation about contents offer platform for on-line education of learner- oriented that is on-line studying special quality in this research.

  • This study aimed to investigate technological pedagogical and content knowledge(TPACK) model, and to apply this model to preservice education. To perform this study, TPACK survey instrument was distributed to 142 preservice teachers who took technology integration course. The result showed that technology and content knowledge improved significantly, and pedagogical and pedagogical content knowledge did not show meaningful differences among 7 sub-categories. Based on the result of this study, we discussed the improvement of technological and content knowledge, and pedagogical knowledge. Also, we suggested that (preservice) teacher education should consider the combination of technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge in Korea.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the trends in the studies on safety education of infant-early childhood teachers in order to provide basic data for a variety of studies in the field of child education. We consulted a total of 59 dissertations and journals articles on the safety education of infant-early childhood teachers published from 2008 to 2018. Our results were as follows: First, we found that the largest number of studies concerned safety awareness, followed by status and awareness, safety actions, safety education analysis, safety accidents and countermeasures, emergencies, development of programs, and teacher education. Second, we found that the most popular targets were child-care of teachers, followed by teacher-trainees, and center directors. Third, among the types of studies, we found that investigative quantitative studies were the most prevalent, followed by correlational studies, qualitative studies, and experimental studies. In terms of methods of gathering data, we found that questionnaires were the most commonly used, followed by qualitative studies, literature reviews, qualitative/quantitative studies, and quantitative literature reviews.

  • This study constructs independent potential variables that are variables expected to affect child abuse reporting intention of child care teachers. In addition, this study establishes a research model based on the relationships between potential variables according to the results of previous studies and planning behavior theory. The purpose of this study was to examine what factors affect and how reporting intention is determined. The subjects of this study included a convenience sample of nursery teachers working in 67 daycare centers in the C region. The following results were obtained. First, the research model proposed in this study was found to be a suitable model to explain the child abuse teacher's intention to report child abuse through the analysis of the measurement and structural models. Second, the child abuse teacher's knowledge of child abuse is an important factor explaining the reporting intention and has an indirect effect through the mediation. Third, attitudes toward reporting of child care teachers were found to be the most direct factor that predicts reporting intentions. Fourth, subjective norms and reporting intentions of child care teachers were not statistically significant. Bsead on these results, basic data for improving child abuse reporting rate of childcare teachers were presented.

  • The selective central curriculum, which has been applied to the grades eleven and twelve in the 7th curriculum, has not operated well due to lack of teacher supply. This study analyzes the needs for the contents which are necessary to operate the minority optional curriculum through cyber education. Based on the developed contents, pilot program was performed. As a result of the program, the learning progress ratio of students was high but their satisfaction was very low. It is suggested that the quantity of the content should be reduced and the degree of difficulty lowered in order to address the problems. Another suggestion is to provide students with on-line teachers such as learning planners, tutors, and consultations to systematically manage students' learning. In addition, various elective-courses should be developed to allow students to take the courses of their choice, which in turn requires the establishment of the national operation system for the minority optional curriculum.
