식생공이 시공된 붕괴절토사면의 안정성 검토기법에 관한 고찰 (A Consideration about Stability Investigation method of Failure Cut-Slope Covered by Vegetation)

  • In case of the national roads which is opened in the past, there are carried out the expansion and improvement for enlargement of the traffic demand by industrial development and safety road operation to narrow of road width and serious change of the road alignment with effect of topography and graphical features of a mountain. A protection method using vegetation in the cut-slope has been constructed for harmony of ambient environment after cutting the slope recently. But it requires a study because the surface lose and the failure have been occurred in the large cut-slope which is covered by vegetation. In this study it was presented a countermeasure and examined a stability of contained uncertainty in the cut-slope according to the failure example of the cut-slope which is covered by vegetation. The additional research will be necessary against the development of the investigation technique which executes the stability investigation of the cut-slope which is covered by vegetation.

임도비탈면에 시공한 식생기반재돌망태의 침식방지 및 녹화효과 분석 (Analysis of the Forest Road Cut-slope Erosion Control and Rehabilitation Techniques using Gabion Systems with Vegetation Base Materials)

  • 이 연구는 식생기반재 돌망태의 침식억지효과 및 녹화효과를 분석하는데 있다. 이 연구를 통하여 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 조사기간 중 평균침식량을 분석해 본 결과, 침식량이 가장 많은 순으로 보면 곡선부에서의 일반돌망태시공지(5,840 $cm^3$)>대조구(5,833 $cm^3$)>직선부의 일반돌망태 시공지(5,621 $cm^3$)>곡선부의 식생기반재돌망태시공지(4,298 $cm^3$)> 직선부의 식생기반재돌망태시공지(4,117 $cm^3$)의 순으로 나타나 식생기반재 돌망태를 시공한 것이 임도절토비탈면의 침식을 저감하는데 효과적인 것으로 분석되었다. 아울러 임도 곡선부의 식생기반재돌망태 및 일반돌망태시공지의 토양침식억지효과가 직선부보다 낮게 나타나 이러한 구조물은 곡선부보다는 직선부에 설치하는 것이 효과적일 것으로 사료된다. 조사기간 중 평균식생피복률은 곡선부에서 45(28~65)%로 나타나 동일한 기간 직선부 식생기반재돌망태시공지의 평균피복률 56(30~85)% 보다 약 11(2~20)% 낮은 값을 나타내어 직선부에서의 식생피복률이 높게 나타났다. 또한 임도절토비탈면에 시공한 식생기반재돌망태는 안정화된 이후 임도 절토 비탈면의 토양침식을 억지하는 효과로 인해 식생피복률이 증가하는데 기여하는 것으로 분석되었다.

Soil displacement from frost heave on forest road cut-slopes

  • The frost heave process from repeated freezing and thawing actions in winter on forest road cut-slopes is important for forest road maintenance and management. This study investigated the damages of the forest heave process on forest road cut-slopes by measuring the changes in the road-cut surface elevation and sediment production and by conducting vegetation surveys which were aimed at providing information for forest road maintenance plans. The temperature and humidity differences were determined between the north and south cut-slopes. T-test showed that the north slope had a lower temperature and humidity than that of the south slope. Field observations also confirmed frozen soils on the north slopes, indicating that the north slopes are susceptible to frost heave. Sediment was converted to dry weight per unit area ($g/m^2$). T-test showed that the north slope produced more sediment than that of the south slope. The study confirmed that more frost heave occurred on the north cut-slopes than on the south cut-slopes. Vegetation surveys were conducted on five cut-slope plots. Considering the dominant species found above the cut-slopes, vegetations in all the plots are expected to succeed to pine and oak in the future. The dominant species appearing on the cut-slopes of the study area were exotic species because the elapsed time of the site was only 2 - 4 years.

  • Many collapse of road cut slope consisted of representative granite of korea peninsula is happened by weathering progress. Chose hangye pass consisted of korea peninsula's representative granite style for this study.   • In order to evaluate the stability of railway cut-slope under rainfall, explanatory variables and subordinate variables were selected for multivariate analysis. Furthermore the site which had occurred failure due to rainfall was investigated, and by executing multivariate analysis for 121 cases, critical rainfall was defined by the case that had high value of correlation factor. The 0.3 square value of maximum hourly rainfall during 24 hours before failure caused the collapse of railway cut-slope and could be used to estimate the stability of railway cut-slope. From the result of application to a collapse example, the evaluaton method by critical rainfall curve is satisfactory.

절개사면에서 전기비저항 토모그래피 적용 기법 (A Technical Application of Resistivity Tomography in Cut Slope)

  • 천매암 및 편암으로 구성된 기지의 절개사면에서 제시된 이상대는 사면 하단부에 설정된 전류원과 상단부의 전위전극으로 하는 단극-쌍극자 배열을 이용한 전기비저항 토모그래피 방식으로 파악되었다. 해석 방법은 각 측선에서 얻어진 측정 자료를 가지고 3차원 전기비저항 역산 방법으로 하였다. 각 측선에 따른 영상들을 볼 때, 사면의 중앙부에 위치한 단층은 사면에 거의 수직인 방향으로 연장된 영상들로 제시되었다. 수치모델링 결과에서 이상대의 영상들은 절개사면에서 제시된 위치에 매우 정확한 결과들로 보여 주었으며, 단층은 절개사면으로부터 거리가 멀어질수록 지표로부터 그 심도가 깊어지는 경향으로 나타났다.

  • When it was a localized torrential downpour last year, a natural-slope fell down above a cut-slope. They were caused that stress was opened by cutting slope, ground water level rose quickly and a ground mass strength fell etc. So volume of ground mass increase because of that reasons, finally the disturbed ground was collapse. Therefore I suggest that safety of a natural-slope is a consideration, when a cut-slope is made by cutting ground.

  • KICT has been carried out inventory research on the cut slopes of national roads. Inventory research results are basic data using cut slope management system. Inventory data are classified by general status, cut slope characteristics and inspector opinion. Inventory data are utilized to figure out dangerous slopes and decide survey ranking of detailed safety diagnostication. This paper drew the distribution area of dangerous cut slopes using inventory data in Chungcheongdo, and verified efficiency on distribution area of dangerous cut slopes by comparing occurrence frequency of real collapsed cut slopes.

  • In order to reduce the damage of property and the loss of lives caused by slope failure, the development of an efficient cut slope management system and the proposal of an appropriate countermeasure are required. However, recognizing the cause of slope failure and proposing the adequate countermeasure for failure are difficult tasks because slope failure is occurred by many complicated failure reasons. Therefore, the cut slope database system is developed in this study for the effective tool which Is able to analyze the characteristics and relationship for reasons of slope failure. In addition, this system contributes to the curtailment of governmental budget spending for countermeasures of slope. Moreover, GIS system will be adopted to the database system and the investigation of characteristics relationship between one and another area is in progress.

Study on collapse mechanism and treatment measures of portal slope of a high-speed railway tunnel

  • The slope of an open cut tunnel is located above the exit of the Leijia tunnel on the Changgan high-speed railway. During the excavation of the open cut tunnel foundation pit, the slope slipped twice, a large landslide of 92500 m3 formed. The landslide body and unstable slope body not only caused the foundation pit of the open cut tunnel to be buried and the anchor piles to be damaged but also directly threatened the operational safety of the later high-speed railway. Therefore, to study the stability change in the slope of the open cut tunnel under heavy rain and excavation conditions, a 3D numerical calculation model of the slope is carried out by Midas GTS software, the deformation mechanism is analyzed, anti-sliding measures are proposed, and the effectiveness of the anti-sliding measures is analyzed according to the field monitoring results. The results show that when rainfall occurs, rainwater collects in the open cut tunnel area, resulting in a transient saturation zone on the slope on the right side of the open cut tunnel, which reduces the shear strength of the slope soil; the excavation at the slope toe reduces the anti-sliding capacity of the slope toe. Under the combined action of excavation and rainfall, when the soil above the top of the anchor pile is excavated, two potential sliding surfaces are bounded by the top of the excavation area, and the shear outlet is located at the top of the anchor pile. After the excavation of the open cut tunnel, the potential sliding surface is mainly concentrated at the lower part of the downhill area, and the shear outlet moves down to the bottom of the open cut tunnel. Based on the deformation characteristics and the failure mechanism of the landslides, comprehensive control measures, including interim emergency mitigation measures and long-term mitigation measures, are proposed. The field monitoring results further verify the accuracy of the anti-sliding mechanism analysis and the effectiveness of anti-sliding measures.
