이동통신서비스 해지고객 예측모형의 비교 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of Comparison of Churn Prediction Models in Mobile Telecommunication Services)

  • As the telecommunication market becomes mature in Korea, severe competition has already begun on the market. While service providers struggled for the last couple of years to acquire as many new customers as possible, nowadays they are making more efforts on retaining the current customers. The churn management by analyzing customers' demographic and transactional data becomes one of the key customer retention strategies which most companies pursue. However, the customer data analysis has still remained at the basic level in the industry, even though it has considerable potential as a tool for understanding customer behavior. This paper develops several churn prediction models using data mining techniques such as logistic regression, decision trees, and neural networks. For model-building, real data were used which were collected from one of the major telecommunication companies in Korea. This paper explores various ways of comparing model performance, while the hit ratio was mainly focused in the previous research. The comparison criteria used in this study include gain ratio, Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistics, distribution of the predicted values, and explanation ability. This paper also suggest some guidance for model selection in applying data mining techniques.

  • 본 연구는 고객 네트워크와 공급자 네트워크, 그리고 혁신성과간의 관계에서 T자형 기술의 역할을 규명하기 위해 수행되었다. 기업 간 협력관계를 효과적으로 관리하기 위해서 필요한 요소는 관련 선행 지식이다. 흡수역량의 전제조건은 새로운 지식을 인지하고, 완전히 이해하고 이를 적용하기 위해서 기업이 관련 선행 지식을 보유하고 있어야 한다는 것이다. 이러한 관점에서 T자형 기술은 새로운 관련 지식의 학습을 용이하게 해주며, 혁신 성과에 중요한 요소이다. 실증분석 결과 T자형 기술은 네트워크와 혁신성과 간의 중요한 매개변수로 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 이를 통해 앞으로 고객 및 공급자와의 네트워크를 구축하고 적극적으로 활용하는 기업에게 어떻게 구축된 네트워크를 통한 효과를 극대화 할 수 있는지 그 방향성을 제시하고 있다.

Using GAs to Support Feature Weighting and Instance Selection in CBR for CRM

  • Case-based reasoning (CBR) has been widely used in various areas due to its convenience and strength in complex problem solving. Generally, in order to obtain successful results from CBR, effective retrieval of useful prior cases for the given problem is essential. However, designing a good matching and retrieval mechanism for CBR systems is still a controversial research issue. Most prior studies have tried to optimize the weights of the features or selection process of appropriate instances. But, these approaches have been performed independently until now. Simultaneous optimization of these components may lead to better performance than in naive models. In particular, there have been few attempts to simultaneously optimize the weight of the features and selection of the instances for CBR. Here we suggest a simultaneous optimization model of these components using a genetic algorithm (GA). We apply it to a customer classification model which utilizes demographic characteristics of customers as inputs to predict their buying behavior for a specific product. Experimental results show that simultaneously optimized CBR may improve the classification accuracy and outperform various optimized models of CBR as well as other classification models including logistic regression, multiple discriminant analysis, artificial neural networks and support vector machines.

전자상거래에서의 제품의 구매 연관과 내용 유사도간의 상관관계 연구 (A Study of the Relationship between Purchase Association and Contents Similarity of Products in e-Commerce)

  • Many online stores provide relevant products in product pages or other pages to attract customer interests. Association rules based on customer purchases and personalized recommendations are most prominently used ways of providing relevant products. Though there have been many studies to apply tags of products as metadata of the products, there are few studies to investigate contents similarities between the products and the suggested products. Thus, this study collects books in purchase associations and their tags in Amazon.com and assesses the similarities between the books. We found out that the contents similarities based on tags are similar among business, literature, and computer networks. And the similarity is also similar among the relevant books that have different ranks.

  • 통신서비스의 진화 모형을 개발하고 전략을 수립하기 위해서는 어떤 서비스 이용자 그룹이 어떠한 형태의 정보통신 욕구를 표출하고자 하는지를 우선 파악하고, 각종 정보통신 욕구의 잠재시장 규모를 추정하여 그 시장 규모에 근거한 서비스 진화 계획을 수립하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 이용자의 용구측면에서 서비스들의 분류 체계 및 서비스들이 갖는 기능의 분류 체계를 수립하고, 서비스, 단말기 및 통신망 들이 갖는 기능의 속성을 분류하여 서비스 진화 계획을 위한 근간을 제공한다.

  • With steady increase in the demand for door-to-door delivery services, courier service providers are facing a constant pressure to reduce delivery price in order to secure quantity order and to improve the efficiency and reliability for customer service. The objective of this research is to explain the structure of the door-to-door delivery including door-to-door delivery service demand, sorting capacity in the hub-terminal, and the system performance measures such as service reliability networks using causal loop diagram(CLD). Based on causal relation, this research describes a comprehensive approach to examine how capacity reliability contributes to the renewal of the firm's competences through its reciprocal relationship with travel time reliability and connectivity reliability. Also, this research suggests the policy alternatives to improve effectiveness and efficiency of door-to-door delivery network in response to increase customer satisfaction and profit maximization of the courier service providers: operational, tactical, and strategic levels.

Plan for Construction and Utilization of Knowledge-Service Platform for Supporting Biomimicry Technology Development

  • In order to support biomimicry technology development, it is necessary to develop an omnidirectional service platform which can recommend principles of biomimicry and business ideas, providing experts' networks and carrying out their relevant education and promotion on the ground of baseline data and application research materials related to biomimicry. This study was conducted to establish any probable plans for construction and utilization of the future open-platform which will collect and serve the technology of biomimicry. Accordingly, biological and ecological information databases were examined along with the appreciation of construction and management of major biomimicry DB, and, based on the materials from the interview of related experts, a customer journey map was schematized. Lastly, in order to suggest a mid-to-long-term target-model, the roles of a future biomimicry knowledge service-platform were determined along with the potential plans for its construction and management based on case analysis and customers' needs.

  • 본 연구는 한국기업의 혁신네트워크와 지식획득과정을 분석하고 이들의 공간적 차원을 이해하는데 그 목적이 있다. 혁신네트워크에서 하도급기업에게는 모기업이 중요하지만 일반 기업의 경우는 공급업체, 고객업체. 경쟁기업 등과의 교류가 상대적으로 중요하게 나타난다 그러나 앞으로 혁신네트워크는 정부출연연구소. 대학 등의 기관이 더욱 중요해지는 한편 해외기업과의 네트워크도 더욱 중시될 것으로 예상된다. 혁신과 관련하여 형식적 지식을 획득하는 것은 어느 정도 공간의 제약을 초월하여 이루어질 수 있지만, 암묵적 지식은 사내연구개발부서에서의 토론과 연구, CEO나 실무자의 개인적 네트워크, 공급업체와 고객업체와의 기업간 관계를 통해서 얻는 경우가 많아서 공간적 근접성이 중시된다. 전반적으로. 혁신네트워크는 수도권과 지방, 공단입지와 일반입지에 따라 상당한 차이를 보이고 있으며. 이는 앞으로 지역발전을 위한 지역산업혁신정책은 지역의 특성에 따라 달리 추진되어야 함을 나타낸다 마지막으로 본 연구결과를 토대로 몇 가지 정책적 시사점을 제시하였다.

  • The World Wide Web(WWW) has provided multi-media cyberspace for electronic markets where suppliers and demanders can do global electronic business with each other directly and conveniently. There are two contradictory views on the roles of intermediaries in electronic markets. One says we may not need intermediaries in doing business because suppliers and demanders can contact with each other directly in electronic markets. The other thinks that the intermediary function may be vertically decomposed from the company's internal value chain because it can be done more efficiently through networks by external intermediaries. Intelligent software agent is a new emerging technology in the field of computer science. An intelligent agent can support and do actions on behalf of users on computer networks. We think that this technology can be utilized to implement more efficient cybermediaries for electronic commerce. This paper proposes an XML-based framework for financial software agent, which selects financial products best fitted for the customer's needs in electronic market environment.

  • The domestic power distribution system is operating in an open loop mode; however, it already has a loop structure. Power distribution systems must be changed for bi-directions power supply for smart networks due to a changing of paradigm in electric power industry. The simplest bi-directions distribution networks can make it closing of normally open switch. However, bi-directions power supply is very difficulty to be operated and there are many parts which it must study. This paper presented various models that are able to change a radial system for loop structures. Further, we compared the reliability index for each model by evaluating the amount of improvement reliability required in radial power distribution system. In addition, we calculated CIC(Customer Interruption Cost) for each model by comparing and analyzing.
