Welding variables and condition in gas metal arc welding (GMAW) effect on the weld quality and productivity, extensive research efforts have been made to analyze the welding variables and conditions. In this study dynamic behavior of GMAW system is investigated using the chararcteristic equations of the power supply. wire and welding arc. Characteristic equation of wire is modified to include the effect of droplets attached at the electrode tip. The dynamic characteristics of arc length, current, voltage with respect to the step, ramp inputs of CTWD was simulated. From results of simulation, some predictions about dynamic characteristics of GMAW and welding process are available. The proposed simulator and results appear to be utilized to determine the proper welding conditions, to be improved by considering power supply dynamic characteristics.

Due to high permeability of the ferrite core, the characteristics of the ICP are expected to be greatly improved. We investigated the effect of the ferrite cores on conventional inductively coupled plasma. It was observed that the current and voltage in ike ICP antenna are slightly decreased and the power transfer efficiency is increased. However, due to eddy current and hysterisis loss, plasma density in the ICP with the ferrite cores is not increased. It seems that the ICP with the ferrite cores at low frequency (${\~}$100kHz) will be greatly improved since the losses at the low frequency can be negligible.

The present study is carried out to examine the combined effect of heat absorption on flow model. The model consists of unsteady flow of a viscous, incompressible and electrically conducting fluid. The flow is along an impulsively started oscillating vertical plate with variable mass diffusion. The magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the plate. The fluid model under consideration has been solved by Laplace transform technique. The numerical data obtained is discussed with the help of graphs and table. The numerical values obtained for skin-friction have been tabulated. To shorten the lengthy equations in the solution some symbols have been assumed, which are mentioned in appendix. The appendix is included in the article as the last section of the manuscript.

The present study deals with wave propagation in a modified couple-stress generalized thermoelastic solid under the effect of gravity and magnetic field. The problem is solved by a refined microtemperatures multi-phase-lags thermoelastic theory. The Fourier series and Laplace transforms will be used to obtain the general solution for any set of boundary conditions. Some comparisons have been shown in figures to estimate the effects of the gravity field, the magnetic field, and different theories of thermoelasticity in the presence of the hall current effect on all the physical quantities. Some particular cases of special interest have been deduced from the present investigation.
Interface-engineered junctions with $YbBa_2$$Cu_3$$O_{7}$ as the counter electrode were demonstrated. The junctions exhibited excellent Josephson characteristics with a Josephson critical current ($I_{c}$) ranging from 0.1 mA to 8 mA and a magnetic field modulation of the $I_{c}$ exceeding 80% at 4.2 K while maintaining complete c-axis orientation of the counter-electrode layer. The$ 1\sigma$ spreads in $I_{c}$ for junctions with an average $I_{c}$ of 1-2 mA were 5-8% for 16 junctions within a chip, and 9.3% for a 100-junction array. Our dI/dV measurements suggest that a theoretical approach taking into account both a highly transparent barrier and the proximity effect is required to fully understand the Junction characteristics.ristics.
Effect of thickness on ZnO properties including the compositional ratio and crystallinity has been systematically investigated using a variety of characterization tools of x-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, x-ray fluorescence and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Interestingly, it was observed that ZnO films below 80 nm in thickness were in oxygen deficiency, while the oxygen ratio was increased in the films above the thickness, although the compositional ratio of ZnO film was not linearly varied with increasing film thickness. Also, ZnO crystallinity, which is characterized by (002) diffraction pattern, was clearly improved with increasing film thickness. The properties of ZnO film with different sputtering time and the nature of direct current reactive sputtering process were discussed in terms of compositional ratio, especially oxygen ratio in ZnO film.
In order to investigate the effect of intracellular cyclic GMP on the calcium channel, whole cell patch clamp technique with internal perfusion method was used in the single ventricular myocytes of the rabbit. Cyclic GMP, cGMP analogues, cAMP, isopernaline and forskolin were perfused into cells and their effects on the calcium current were analysed by applying depolarizing step pulse of 10 mV in amplitude for 200 msec from holding potential of -40 mV. Calcium currents usually activated from -30 mV and then reached a peak at +10 mV. Amplitude of the calcium current was standardized with membrane capacitance, 50 pF. Peak amplitude at +10 mV in control was -0.15 nA/50pF. When 100 mM cAMP was applied from the pipette, peak amplitude of calcium current increased to -0.32 nA and addition of 1 mM isoprenaline further increased its amplitude. In the presence of cGMP it alone also produced an increase of the calcium current to -0.52 nA/50pF and addition of isoprenaline or forskolin increased its magnitude to -[0.55~0.95] nA/50pF. Simultaneous application of cGMP and cAMP increased the calcium current to -0.67 nA/50pF. Among the cGMP analogues, 8-Br-cGMP was the most potent stimulant for the calcium current activation. From the above results it could be concluded tlat cGMP increases the calcium current not through cAMP dependent protein kinase nor cAMP dependent phosphodiesterase pathway, but through independent phosphorylation pathway, possibly cGMP dependent protein kinase pathway.

The three-phase four-wire power distribution system can be used to supply power to single-phase and three-phase loads at the same time. There are linear loads and nonlinear loads as single-phase loads connected to each phase. The nonlinear load generates a harmonic current during the power energy conversion process. In particular, the single-phase nonlinear load has a higher proportion of generation of the third harmonic current than the harmonics of the other orders. In a three-phase four-wire system, the third harmonic current flows through the neutral wire to the power supply side, affecting the power supply side and the line. Furthermore, the magnitude of the current flowing in the neutral line can be higher than the current flowing in the individual phase. If the neutral current is higher than the phase current, the breaker may be blocked. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the amount of current flowing in the neutral line by harmonics. There is a method of zigzag connecting a single phase transformer by a method of reducing 3 harmonic current. In this study, the method of reducing the magnitude of the three harmonic currents flowing through the zigzag wire by comparing the polarity and the negative polarity characteristics of the single phase transformer was compared through measurement and simulation.

Polyethylene is widely used as the insulator for power cable. To investigate the conduction mechanism for power cable insulation under ac high field, it is very important to acquire the dissipation current under actual running field. Recently, we have developed the unique system, which make possible to observe the nonlinear dissipation current waveform. In this system, to observe the nonlinear properties with high accuracy, capacitive current component is canceled by using inverse capacitive current signal instead of using the bridge circuit for canceling it. We have already reported that the dissipation currents of $40\;{\mu}m$ thick LDPE film at 10 kV/mm and over 140 Hz, it starts to show nonlinearity and odd number's harmonics were getting large. To investigate the conduction mechanis ms in this region, especially space charge effect, various kinds of estimation, such as time variations of instantaneous resistivity for one cycle, FFT spectra of dissipation current waveforms and so on, has been examined. As the results of these estimations, it was found that the dissipation current will depend on not only the instantaneous value of electric field but also the time differential of applied electric field due to taking a balance between applied field and internal field. Furthermore, two large peaks of dissipation current for each half cycle were observed under certain condition. In this paper, to clarify the reason why it shows two peaks for each half cycle, the film thickness dependences of dissipation current waveforms were observed by using the three different thickness LDPE films.

Current density is an important operating parameter in the ion-exchange membrane process. We observed the effects of fouling of a Neosepta AMX anion-exchange membrane(Tokuyama Soda, Japan) in 0.02 M NaCl solution containing 100 mg/L sodium humate. Membrane fouling was analyzed by measuring the change in the electrical resistance in the under- and over-limiting current density regions. The experimental results found that membrane fouling was negligible at under-limiting current densities, but was increased significantly when an over-limiting current was supplied. After the fouling experiments, the current-voltage curves for the fouled membranes were measured. From the curves, we observed increased electric resistance and reduced limiting current density(LCD), caused by the accumulation of humic acid on the membrane surface. Furthermore, membrane fouling increased as the acidity of the electrolyte solution containing humic acid increased. This occurred because the fouling of an anion-exchange membrane is affected more by the physicochemical properties of the humic substance than by the surface charge of the humate.
