Flexible Source Current Reference Generation for Predictive Current Control of Matrix Converter under Unbalanced Input Voltages

  • This paper presents a new predictive current control (PCC) method to achieve the coordinate control of power and current of the matrix converter under unbalanced input voltages. In order to control the power fluctuation in the input side, the flexible source current reference is generated based on the positive-negative sequence components of the input voltage. The optimal switching state to adjust source and load currents is selected by minimization the cost function which is obtained from the sum of the absolute errors between the current references and their predictive values. Simulation results are given to validate the effectiveness of the proposed PCC method.

평균 모델을 이용한 Z-소스 인버터의 제어 (Control of the Z-Source Inverter using Average Model)

  • This paper presents a design strategy for the control of the Z-source inverter (ZSI). For the Z-network capacitor voltage control, the average current model is derived to describe the dynamics of the voltage control and the controller outputs the average current command for the capacitor. Z-network inductor current reference is derived from the average current model of the Z-network capacitor. The inner current control loop outputs the average voltage command for the Z-network inductor and the shoot-through duty ratio of the ZSI is calculated from the output using the average voltage model of the Z-network inductor. The gain values of the current and voltage controllers are directly obtained by the Z-network parameters and desired bandwidth of each controller without a gain tuning process.

  • In this paper, we analyze the typical phase voltage and line current waveform characteristics of the distribution system with 3 phase small synchronous generation source in case with load and non-load group, in order to investigate the power quality for end load connected of generation source. As demonstrated by our experimental results, the distortion and power quality of phase voltage and line current waveform were relatively good for low voltage 3 phase model grids connected of 3 phase small synchronous generation source in case with non-load group. However, distortion and power quality of voltage and current waveform was poor for low voltage 3 phase model grids connected to 3 phase small synchronous generation source in the load group with some phase voltage and frequency difference. From the above results, we conclude that the phase voltage and frequency of 3 phase generation source must be identical to that of distribution system source to maximize the power quality. Also, special attention is required in case of having load group or non-load group to 3 phase generation source.

  • PWM 모드로 동작하는 전류형 인버터(CSI)는 구형파 제어형 CSI에 비해 구조가 복잡하여 가격이 비싸지고 공진발생 가능성이 크며 스위칭 손실, EMI등에 의해 동작 효율이 낮다. 그러나 구형파 제어모드의 CSI는 출력전류에 저차 고조파가 다량으로 함유되어 있기 때문에 모터의 토크 맥동이 발생된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 CSI구동 유도 모터의 토크 맥동을 감소하기 위해, CSI와 유도모터 사이에 능동전력필터를 설피하여 유도모터의 입력전류에 함유되어 있는 고조파 성분을 보상하는 시스템을 제안하였다. 고조파를 보상하기 위한 알고지름으로는 연산과정에 전압이 필요치 않는 노치 필터법을 사용하였으며 PSIM 시뮬레이션에 의해 제안된 시스템의 타단성을 입증할 수 있었다.

  • The study on the hybrid power source for the IMT2000 application has been presented. The hybrid power source is composed of solar cell, super-capacitor and battery. To compensate for the pulse loader of the IMT2000 application, the super-capacitor is connected through the Lithium-ion battery to absorb the pulse current. The solar cell provides the additional current to compensate for the depleted current. The controller design for the hybrid source has been presented and verified through experiment.

  • Detailed analysis of the commutation circuit of the proposed wide-frequency current source inverter is given. In this inverter a spike-limit circuit and a precommutation circuit are used. The spike-limit circuit is intended to limit spike voltage which is arising during commutation time in a current source inverter, and the precommutation circuit to reuse the energy which flows from main inverter to spike-limit circuit during commutation time to aid commutation. Thus voltage stress of main thyristor is minimized. Since this inverter can be made up of thyristors for phase control, it has some advantage in high voltage and high power application.

A New Overlap Current Restraining Method for Current-source Rectifier

  • To ensure a DC current path and avoid large voltage overshoot of the DC-link inductor, alternating PWM pulses in the current-source rectifier should be supplemented by overlap time, which generates an overlap current and causes input current distortion. In this study, the influence of overlap time is illustrated by comparing the AC-side current before and after overlap time is added. The overlap current distribution caused by overlap time is discussed under different modulation carriers, including triangle carrier, positive-going carrier, and negative-going carrier. The quantitative relationship between the extra harmonics of the AC-side current and overlap time is based on the Fourier analysis. Based on the commutation analysis, a new carrier modulation scheme that can restrain overlap current is proposed. A 3 kW prototype is established to verify the effectiveness of the influence of overlap time and the proposed restraining modulation scheme.

  • 넓은 범위의 전압-제어 발진기 및 자동 이득 조절기의 실현을 위한 고선형 전압-제어 전류원(VCCS) 회로를 제안하였다. 제안한 VCCS는 전압 입력을 위해 이미터 폴로워, 전류 출력을 위해 이미터가 결합된 두 개의 공통-베이스 증폭기, 그리고 넓은 범위의 전류 출력과 높은 선형성을 얻기 위해 두 증폭기를 결합한 전류 미러로 구성된다. VCCS의 회로는 별도의 바이어스회로가 없이 단지 5개의 트랜지스터와 1개의 저항기만 사용하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 제안한 VCCS는 5V의 공급전압에서 1V에서 4.8V까지의 제어-전압에 대하여 최대 0A에서 300㎃까지의 전류를 출력할 수 있다. 0㎃에서 300㎃의 출력 전류의 최대 선형 오차는 1.4 %이였다.

입상 탄소 발열체의 열원을 이용한 온풍기의 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on Application of Warm Air Circulator by Using the Carbon Heating Element with Particle Type)

  • This paper is a study on application of warm air circulator by using the carbon heating element with particle type. The main variables are the input current and amount of carbon heating source for experimental characteristics. The experimental results are obtained as follows. As the input current and temperature are increased, the resistance of heat source is decreased about $20{\sim}25%$ by the effect of negative resistance. As the amount of heating source is small, Joule heat is large with the input current. When the amount of heating source is 300 and the input current is 15A, the value of Joule heat is about 4604.6kJ/h. The heat production efficiency of carbon heating source is larger about 10% than the sheath heater.
