"The engineering education program for environmental intention and value creation" has been executed from 2008 to 2010 in Suzuka National College of Technology, which program was promoted as "Good Practice for Education" by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Japan. "Eco-car project" is one of these practical ecology/environment education programs. The project's members have been learning and researching the environmental managements by the process of design, manufacturing, and assembly of solar car, highly effective fuel consumption car (Eco-run car), electric vehicle and fuel-cell car. Also this project was supported by some professional experts of the local industries and community. The students learned the actual industrial technique, the engineering management and the structure of local industries by this project. In this paper, the environmental intention engineering design education with local industry collaboration is introduced.

The purpose of this study was to revoke attention to the funeral costumes which has been neglected by academic fields and fashion industries. We investigated the traditional funeral garments by the literature reviews and the actual conditions by the questionnaire. For the data analysis, 525 questionnaires for male and female in Seoul, Daeagu, Jeonju and Busan were collected. Men mainly wore the western style black suits, women wore the traditional white funeral costumes during the funeral service. Most of the respondents were dissatisfied with the funeral garments. We investigated the styles, the materials and the colors of the funeral garments which were favored by the consumers. The preferences and the criteria of the funeral garments were different with sex, age, income, educational levels, religion and occupational status of husband partly.

Technology innovations have been accelerating changes across industries and intensifying competition. Enterprises are therefore required to continuously secure their internal and external competitiveness. Based on the principle that core competencies of a firm are essential to its competitiveness, many research studies have been conducted to figure out the effect of core competencies to business performance. However, individual research works considered a part of core competencies or limited to a specific industry, which means that their findings may differ when additional core competencies are included in their analysis. After re-establishing the definition of each core competency from literature review, this study comprehensively investigated the effect relationship among core competencies and business performance. Structural equation modeling and multiple regression analysis with 421 survey respondents from various industries were conducted for our empirical study.

본 논문은 데이트 쇼 프로그램인 SBS의 <짝>의 텍스트 구성형식에 나타나고 있는 텔레비전 장르의 특성을 통해 텔레비전 장르의 혼종적(hybrid) 포맷에서 나타나는 특징을 살펴보는데 목적이 있다. 텔레비전 프로그램의 혼종적 포맷은 텔레비전 프로그램에서 중요하게 비중을 차지하고 있으며, 리얼리티를 강조하여 수용자에게 볼거리를 제공하는 특징이 있다. 또한 데이트 쇼 프로그램은 수용자의 일상적인 삶과 밀접한 연관성을 가지면서 동시에 출연자와의 동일시를 부추기고 있다는 점에서 중요한 의미가 있다.

This study surveyed features of weddings in the main family by selecting 10 families in which the grandnephew and grandnephew's wife dwell in the head house, have a shrine, and hold a memorial service for Bulcheonwi (不遷位). A case survey through in-depth interview was carried out from April 9, to October 8, 2011. It surveyed the contents and the wedding artifacts in Uihon (議婚), Napchae (納采), Nappye (納幣), Daerye (大禮), Hyeongugorye (見舅姑禮), which are the procedures of traditional wedding that have been kept in the wedding ceremony of the main family. As a result, in deciding on marriage, the marriage was formed on the basis of similar Gagyeok (家格) and on ancestor's common scholastic mantle or origin. As for wedding furnishings, wedding presents, and wedding gifts, 9 out of 10 families were indicated to give and take weakly. Also, 6 out of 10 families held a traditional wedding ceremony in the yard of the bride's house. Hyeongugorye (見舅姑禮) was indicated to be held by all of the 10 families. A continuous effort in academic circles and industries is demanded for preserving the living culture of the main family, which proceeds with following the traditional elements even amid a rapidly-changing historical flow as today.

문화는 도시경쟁력의 원천과 시민의 삶의 질 향상에 필수적인 요소이다. 현대사회는 지속적 경제성장과 도시재생을 위한 목적으로 문화산업과 결합하여 좀 더 지역적이고 창의성이 발현될 수 있는 도시를 만들고자 한다. 이러한 문화도시조성사업은 기반시설 건설 운영으로 인하여 생산, 고용, 그리고 소득의 인프라를 구축하였고, 역사 문화재에 대한 시민의식을 고취시켰다. 또한, 민족 문화 정체성 및 가치를 향상시켜 국가적 측면에서 효과적인 방안을 제시하였다.

This research had a close look into the expected results for both Korea and China from the contextual background of their efforts on FTA. In reality, we have to admit that Korea-China FTA has gains and losses for both countries in different fields and industries. Therefore, we suggest that people should not be myopic on the FTA matters, but take long-term perspectives in order to increase the entire benefits for companies and the country. Both countries should be able to build up strategic, reciprocal cooperation. We emphasize that the current FTA negotiations with China can turn out threats, not opportunities, if we do not establish effective negotiation strategies. Furthermore, we argue that, if we know and understand Chinese negotiation culture in advance, we could react to their strategic actions still more effectively. All in all, we could say that the purpose of our research is, first of all, to investigate the antecedents and consequences of the current Korea-China FTA negotiations; second, to divulge the Chinese negotiation culture, to presume possible negotiation strategies on the part of the Chinese, and to envision possible strategic reactions on our part; third, to delineate value creations from the successful Korea-China FTA in the future.

Poor safety management in construction management may adversely affect cost, schedule and quality of a project. Heavy fines upon safety offence becomes a burden to the budget; losing working hours as a result of safety incident impacts on the schedule, and compromising quality is always an indirect consequence when workers perform duties in an unsafe site environment. Therefore, promotion of safety management becomes the top priority in any construction manager's agenda. Working safely will benefit construction project and lead to a "real" success. This paper is a case study, based upon "Geller's 10 principles for achieving a total safety culture", reviewing how a Hong Kong leading construction company fosters the safety culture and possesses a pleasant safety record over years. Its safety performance is not only well ahead the local industry, but also ranges top within the Asia Pacific region and comparable to those mature Western industries. The review concluded that safety culture is one of the major components in construction management and collaboration is the essence to realize this positive culture within an organization. Safety management is not merely a "top down" approach, but requires the positive "bottom up" actions from the other end. The successful story of this company can demonstrate the contribution of safety management in construction management.

Background: In the mining industry, various methods of accident analysis have utilized official accident investigations to try and establish broader causation mechanisms. An emerging area of interest is identifying the extent to which cultural influences, such as safety culture, are acting as drivers in the reoccurrence of accidents. Thus, the overall objective of this study was to analyze occupational health and safety (OHS) reports in mining to investigate if/how safety culture has historically been framed in the mining industry, as it relates to accident causation. Methods: Using a computer-assisted qualitative data analysis software, 34 definitions of safety culture were analyzed to highlight key terms. Based on word count and contextual relevance, 26 key terms were captured. Ten OHS reports were then analyzed via an inductive thematic analysis, using the key terms. This analysis provided a concept map representing the 50-year data set and facilitated the use of text framing to highlight safety culture in the selected OHS mining reports. Results: Overall, 954 references and six themes, safety culture, attitude, competence, belief, patterns, and norms, were identified in the data set. Of the 26 key terms originally identified, 24 of them were captured within the text. The results made evident two distinct frames in which to interpret the data: the role of the individual and the role of the organization, in safety culture. Conclusion: Unless efforts are made to understand and alter cultural drivers and share these findings within and across industries, the same accidents are likely to continue to occur.

최근 들어 감성기술은 제조업(제품), 서비스업(문화, 관광, 의료, 교육, 광고) 등 많은 분야에서 적용이 확대되고 있으며 차세대 유망기술로 등장하고 있다. 또한 문화는 게임, 전시, 공연, 스포츠, 관광, 디자인, 에듀테인먼트, 콘텐츠 유통 등 다양한 콘텐츠산업분야에 접목되어 기존산업의 고부가가치화에 기여하고 있다. 감성 기술을 이용한 문화의 콘텐츠산업 접목은 콘텐츠 기획-제작-유통-마케팅 등 프로세스 전반의 혁신을 유도함으로써 미래 국가 성장동력의 견인차 역할을 하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 감성기술의 콘텐츠 적용 사례 조사와 비즈니스 성공사례 분석을 통해 향후 콘텐츠산업의 부가가치를 향상시키기 위한 감성콘텐츠 개발 방향을 모색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 우선 감성, 감성공학, 감성과학, 감성기술, 감성콘텐츠 등에 대한 정의와 분류를 정교화하였다. 또한 CT R&D 6개 분야 중에서 감성기술을 적용하여 성공적인 효과를 창출하고 있는 다양한 콘텐츠에 대한 국내외 사례를 심층 분석하였다. 성공사례 분석을 통해 도출한 시사점을 바탕으로 개인 맞춤형 컨시어지 서비스를 제공하는 콘텐츠, 인간의 수행능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 콘텐츠, 인간의 정서조절이 가능한 콘텐츠를 개발함으로써 한류문화를 세계적으로 소개할 수 있는 융합형 콘텐츠 개발이 필요하다고 제안하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 감성기술의 콘텐츠산업 접목방안을 모색하는 데에 필요한 기초자료로 활용할 수 있으리라 기대한다.
