East-West Exchange of Costume Culture: Focusing on the Analysis of Taq-i Bustan Reliefs of the Sassanian Dynasty of Persia

  • The Taq-i Bustan reliefs are representative works from the Sassanian dynasty of the 4th to 7th centuries. This study analyzes the costumes depicted in the Taq-i Bustan reliefs to gain understanding of the phenomena of cultural exchange between the East and West by observing the foreign cultural elements appearing in the Sassanian costumes of that time. Literature study and artifacts analysis were conducted in parallel. External elements appearing in Taq-i Bustan's costume were Greek-Roman and Central Asian. The tunics and trousers of the gods and the trousers of kings (Ardashir II, Shapur II and Shapur III) were made of thin fabric and showed many wrinkles, a characteristic of Greek and Roman clothing. On the spandrel above the arch of the great grotto of Khusrau II are depicted the goddesses of Victory, in a Greco-Bactrian style. Among the costume elements of Taq-i Bustan, there were also Central Asian elements observed. One Central Asian costume element was the round clasp ornament for tying the trousers. The side slits and hem of the tunic were presented in the style of the Sogd clothing of Central Asia in the 6th and 7th centuries, while the pearl rounded pattern was activated in Sogd, Kucha and Kizyl in the 7th and 8th centuries. These reliefs are considered important evidence of eastern influences in Sassanian culture.

  • 본 연구는 전북지역의 중국관련 역사문화자원을 중심으로 그것의 문화콘텐츠 활용방안을 모색하기 위한 목적으로 신라시대 이후 고려시대, 조선시대, 항일운동시대까지 형성된 역사문화자원을 중심으로 분석하였다. 분석의 관점은 교류, 귀화 그리고 신앙의 시각에서 이루어졌으며 분석결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 먼저 교류적 관점에서 최치원과 서긍 그리고 송영구의 활동은 지역에 많은 유적이나 지리적 스토리를 남기고, 아름다운 인적교류의 유산 등 지역역사문화콘텐츠의 형성에 기여했다는 점이다. 귀화의 관점에서 볼 때 두경령, 천만리, 그리고 정율성은 귀화하여 지역에 한중역사문화를 뿌리내리고, 특히 항일운동, 국가형성에 기여하는 등 귀화를 통한 한중의 역사문화 스토리 및 유산형성에 역시 이바지했다는 점이다. 신앙적인 관점에서는 관우신앙을 들 수 있으며, 그것은 용감한 장수로서, 그리고 전쟁승리의 상징으로서 관과 민이 믿는 신앙이 되었고 그와 관련된 상징물, 회화 등은 숭배의 대상으로서, 예술적 가치로서 귀중한 지역중국문화자원이 되었다는 점이다. 이러한 분석결과를 어떻게 활용할 것인가는 지역 내 중국관련 역사문화자원과 관련된 스토리 정리 및 지역축제로의 발전, 도서문화브랜드화, 국제적인 음악제 추진, 중국인 탐방 코스 등의 다양한 문화콘텐츠의 개발과 이를 통한 한중문화교류 확대, 중국인 관광객 유치 등에 대한 지자체 및 정부의 적극적인 노력이 있어야 한다는 것이다.

  • As of today-half a century has passed after 1945, the liberation from Japanese imperialism-it's significant to introspect our culture. On the one hand our culture has succeeded due to the peculiar history, but on the other hand it hasn't. So to speak, it has gained in Quantity but lost in Quality. There are keen, international competition and exchange in the modern culture. So the Qualitive success of modern design depends on if it had an original character or not. According to Korean rapid industrialization, technological extence, and economic growth, the export has increased greatly, but package design hasn't been match for them. Korean expoters have been meeting with cutthroat competition in world market. Under these circumstances it's very important that we have a real understand and interest in our culture, we strengthen the competitive power of home products with good package design. This is our age of not home market but world market. We live in an age when design wins, so that we have to develop the good design native to Korea. Many designers have proposed their opinions with the characteristic designs, but it has been only a fragmentary and passive method. We must seek for the new method more positively. The effective and proper method resolves itself into the following four points. First, to understand Korean history and culture. Second, to have the exact grip of this economic situation. Third, to promote the national emotion. Fourth, in conclusion, to accord the package design with them. We cannot put off this task to overcome the cultural subordination, to place Korea on a firm cultural basis in the world, and to contribute to the cultural exchange of package design. 온라인 국제교류 협력학습 설계모형 탐구 (Research on Instructional Design Models for Cross-Cultural Collaborative Online Learning)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 첨단 ICT의 활용도를 높이고 국가 간 교육 교류협력 활성화에 기여하는 온라인 국제교류 협력학습의 개념과 유형에 대해서 살펴보고, 유형별 수업 설계모형을 제시하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 온라인 국제교류 협력학습 관련 시범사업 및 선행연구를 고찰하였다. 그 결과, 온라인 국제교류 협력학습은 첨단 ICT를 기반으로 언어적, 문화적으로 이질적인 학생, 교사, 현장전문가가 상호작용하고 협력함으로써 지식을 탐구하고 구성해가는 구성주의 기반의 교육방법임을 확인하였다. 유형으로는 원격 화상 수업 중심의 실시간 교류학습과 웹사이트 기반 과제 중심의 비실시간 교류학습이 있었고, 이러한 유형별 특징을 고려한 PPIE(Plan-Preparation-Interaction-Evaluation) 수업 설계모형을 제시하였다. 본 연구의 결과가 온라인 국제교류 협력학습 활성화에 기여할 것으로 기대한다.

예멘과 에티오피아의 문화이해와 지역협력 방안 연구 (A study on cultural understanding and regional cooperation in Yemen and Ethiopia)

  • 본 연구는 커피를 선호하는 한국인들에게 예멘·에티오피아의 문화적 차이를 이해하고 지역협력 방안을 찾고자 하는 것이다. 이슬람지역은 직접 협력을 할 수 없어 커피산업을 통한 교류방법을 고려하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 지역적 교류 모델과 선행연구를 조사하였고, 초기 문화와 종교의 특징을 알아보고 문화완충과 예멘의 이슬람 분쟁역사를 통한 정치종교적 지역 관계를 알아보았고 마지막으로 커피지역을 비교하기 위해 지역 커피산업과 문화에 대해 설명하였다. 결론적으로 이슬람 연구에 대한 지역 협력을 위한 교육이 필요하며 이를 위해 첫째, 문화 충돌 극복, 둘째, 새로운 전략적 지역협력, 셋째, 종교보다 문화적 접근, 넷째, 새로운 기술적 지역협력, 다섯째, 예멘 난민 지역협력 병행, 여섯째, 에티오피아에서의 교두보(예멘 교역지역협력) 등의 방식을 제안하였다.

통일신라의 문화교류 및 전탑형성과정에 대한 고찰 (Examination on unified Silla's cultural exchange and brick pagoda formation course)

  • 본 우리나라의 불탑은 목탑, 전탑, 석탑 등 다양하게 조영되었다. 하지만 전래되어 지고 있는 불탑은 전탑, 석탑 등 소실되기 어려운 재질의 불탑 형식만이 있다. 석탑에 비해 전탑의 경우 실측 등 실물에 대한 자료는 어느 정도 진행되어 있으나, 문헌적인 자료 및 축조방법에 대한 연구는 아직까지 미흡한 실정이다. 그 이유는 현재 우리나라에 남아있는 전탑의 수가 그리 많지 않은 점, 지역적으로 제한적인 점, 재료적인 한계를 문헌적으로 극복하지 못한 점, 탑의 구성을 시대적, 지역적인 문제로 해석하지 않고 탑의 조영에만 초점을 맞추어 연구한 것 등 때문인 것으로 보인다. 이에 본 연구는 전탑이 축조된 지역에서의 지역적 문화적인 특성을 중심으로 전탑형성과정을 해석하였다. 그 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 우리나라와 중국과의 교류는 나타난 유적을 비교해 살펴보면, 실크로드를 통한 교류와 함께 해상경로로의 교류가 있었으며, 이러한 교류는 동아시아지역과도 함께 공유되었다. 그리고 중국과의 교류는 전파를 통한 맹목적인 습득이 아니라 지역적인 세력의 선택적인 교류라 할 수 있었다. 둘째, 우리나라에서 전탑이 조영된 이유로 이제까지의 지역에서 손쉽게 구할 수 있는 양질의 흙 뿐 만 아니라 불교적으로 중심세력에 부합하지 않는 의상의 화엄종의 교섭 및 당시의 시대적인 상황인 불교의 대중화, 지방세력의 거점화 등이 지방세력과의 밀접한 관계가 전탑 조영의 원인으로 나타났다. 셋째, 전탑의 조영은 발해와 신라와의 교섭관계 및 지역적, 민족적 영향력이 작용하고 중국에서 넘어온 문화에 대한 선택적인 소산물이라 할 수 있다. 이 점은 전탑이 중국에서 실크로드를 통한 문화적인 전파 및 중국의 소국으로서의 발생이 아니라 하나의 민족국가의 형성에서 발생된 것으로 볼 수 있다.

A Study on Cultural Learning Through Cultural Comparison Activities: Focusing on Learner Perception

  • The aims of this study were to introduce cultural teaching procedures and propose cultural comparison activities as a practical method of cultural learning. It also analyzed learners' attitudes toward cultural learning through the aforementioned activities and examined considerations for holding cultural classes in the future. The research involved conducting a class underlain by four stages: warm-up, a cultural item comparison activity, wrap-up, and opinion submission. Data were collected through self-opinion journals and open-ended questionnaires, after which they were qualitatively analyzed. The results showed that the learners were highly satisfied with cultural learning through cultural comparison activities (73.7%) because of the efficiency of such a learning method, opportunities for proactive learning through interaction, increased interest and motivation, and the fact that it helps them understand their own cultures. We need to develop activities that enable learners to participate in a variety of ways through the mutual exchange of opinions when planning cultural classes. Pedagogical implications for integrated language and cultural classes are provided.

디지털 패션영상에 나타난 가상성 연구 (Virtuality in Digital Fashion Images)

  • Focus on Digital Fashion Image, the conceptual framework for the thesis is established from Virtuality in Digital Art. Formative characteristics and aesthetic characteristics were studied by classifying the Digital Fashion Image applied and expressed by digital media and technology. A detective research method was used for a case study. A literature study for case-by-case data was analyzed with focus on the works expressing fashion that utilized digital media and technology since the 2000s. Through this study, the Digital revolution has created the socio-cultural impact of a Virtual representation to implement technology and fashion culture that finds ways to take advantage of the image shown in a Digital Fashion Media by understanding Virtuality. The results are as follows. First, it was a re-formation of the fashion culture through the experience of virtuality with mental zone parameters between the media 'Mediation Code'. Reflect the reality of the virtual environment as represented by a cultural image of fashion brands and fashion that reset the team relationship and formed a Homo Ludens cultural code. Second, 'Interactive Exchange' acts on the exchange interaction between the method of digital technology, the human and the machine as well as the technical interoperability of network elements and techniques. This exchange is applied to fashion images that express emotion. Forming personalized fashion items and the user interactively storage that expresses the interactive exchange to forward the identity of the emotional fashion by a change in the message delivery system fashion. Third, the emphasis on intuitive artistic expression 'Synesthesia Immersion' induces a sense of immersion and excitement through the fusion of the interconnected. Enhance a visual image in fashion sensory representation and maximize a tactile and visual virtual reality involvement.

경북북부지역의 상류주택에 관한 조사연구 (A Study on Upper-Class House in North Kyeung-Buk Region)

  • This paper was made to examine floor plan and block plan of traditional upper-class houses in the north Kyeungsangbukdo region with consideration into city and country each. The results of this study were as following; First, Munkyung area is latitudinally located in northern area along with the Yechon and Andong. However, Munkyung area has open plot system while Yechon and Andong has not. It is because even if Munkyung area is located in the western of Nak-Dong river and belongs to the northern region, it has belonged to the cultural area which is developed around Sangju area. Second, Youngduk area belongs to the east-coast but it had frequent cultural exchange and marriage with Andong which is located on the road along with Tae-Baek Mountain. Due to the cultural exchange, their housing type is very similar to those of Andong which is close plot plan of "ㅁ" type. Therefore, even if Youngduk is located in the east-coast area, it should belong to the cultural background of Andong area. Regionally, the culture of Kyongsangbukdo has been divided into northern area, southern area, and east-coast area. But, the findings of this study indicate that the analysis of location and floor plan of housing should not be based on the natural environment oand geographic characteristics. Hence, it should be based on the all aspects of environment, including social and cultural nature to find more reliable and accurate results.e results.

페르시아 아케메네스 왕조 페르세폴리스 아파다나 궁전 계단 조공도에 묘사된 복식연구 (A Study of the Costume Expressed in the Reliefs of Tribute on the Stairs of the Apadana palace of Persepolis in the Persian Achaemenes Dynasty)

  • This study is taken as the part of the cultural research on the Kaspian coastal region, which has a great significance as the start of human civilization and in the history of cultural exchange. This study is focused on the Achaemenid dynasty of the great Persian Empire that Iranians have established on the Parsa region, south of Iran on 6-4th century B.C. This research limits to the tribute-relief illustrated on the stairs of Apadana Palace in Persepolis during the age of Achaemenid dynasty. The objective of this research is classify and analyze Persians and its neighboring tribes, their dresses and the detailed elements of the dresses to complete the typology of the dresses in that period and use this to categorize the features of nomadic and agricultural tribes of costal areas of the Mediterranean Sea to Northern India and study the cultural exchange and its effects. Furthermore, we aim to use the above typology to revise the typology of the Korean traditional dresses that were formerly just sorted as a type of coat-trousers that classified as a nomadian Scythian dress type. The results of above analysis are as follows: The clothing of many tribes living in the coastal areas of Mediterranean Sea to the Northern India in the Achaemenid dynasty of Persia on 6th century B.C. shows that the typology of the dressings have close relationship with the region they live in. Such typology is displayed differently from tribes east and west of Iran. The tribes west of Iran showed characteristics of an agricultural tribe and the tribes east of Iran displayed features of a nomadic tribe. In addition, uniformed styles of dressing were displayed amongst many tribes sharing a common lineage. Such inference came from the fact that similar styles of dressings were identified not only in tribes east of Iran but also in tribes west of Iran.
