The airline has continued to hire foreign cabin crews to increase efficiency of human resourcing qualified flight attendants. Cultural stress, aggressive coping, social support and job adaption have been chosen to be a factors. Especially, the SEM was set to show indirect effects of cultural stress and aggressive coping through social support to the dependant variable, job adaptation. • As the number of foreign workers increases in Korea, people's interest in their adaptation to this society has also increased. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a forest-healing program on foreign workers' cultural adaptation stress and psychological wellbeing. The experiment was conducted in a recreation forest located in Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do. The subjects who participated in this study included 40 foreign workers (16 males, 24 females). The experiment was conducted for three days and two nights from June 26 to 28, 2019. The forest healing program was composed of activities that can enhance immunity and restore physical and mental health by utilizing various healing environmental factors such as landscapes, sunlight, anion and oxygen in forest. The independent sample t-test was conducted to examine changes in cultural adaptation stress and psychological well-being before and after the program. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 program. As a result, cultural adaptation stress was statistically significantly reduced in sub-factors including discrimination experience, language conflict and legal status. Psychological wellbeing improved in all the surveyed sub-factors such as self-confidence, ego, immersion, and joy. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data for reducing the stress foreign workers experience from cultural adaptation and restoring their psychological wellbeing in the future.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to develop and examine the effects of a psychosocial adaptation program for North Korean adolescent defectors. Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted with 28 North Korean adolescent defectors who were recruited through alternative schools. The experimental and control groups consisted of 14 participants each. A program was conducted across eight sessions, each lasting about 90-120 minutes. The data were analyzed using the x2 test, t-test, paired t-test, and analysis of covariance. Results: No significant differences were observed in the score changes for psychosocial adaptation (t=0.25, p=.808), post-traumatic stress symptoms (t=0.32, p=.749), cultural adaptation stress (t=0.05, p=.957), and self-efficacy (t=0.35, p=.726) in either group before and after the intervention. No intergroup differences were observed for psychosocial adaptation (t=0.12, p=.902), post-traumatic stress symptoms (t=0.07, p=.946), cultural adaptation stress (t=0.01, p=.994), and self-efficacy (t=0.58, p=.570). Conclusion: These findings suggest that psychosocial adaptation, stress, and self-efficacy cannot be improved by a short-term intervention program alone. It was also determined that the cultural characteristics of the North Korean adolescent defectors were not sufficiently considered before implementing the program. Therefore, it is essential to provide an in-depth orientation for the participants before implementing the program.

The data used for the analysis were the second panel data (2020) among the multicultural youth panel survey data. As for the data analysis method, frequency analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, correlation analysis, PROCESS MACRO Model Number 4 and PROCESS MACRO Model Number 1 analysis were performed. As a result of the analysis, first, parental support showed a positive (+) effect on school life adaptation. Second, in the relationship between parent's support and school adaptation, self-esteem had a statistically significant indirect effect. Third, it was found that cultural adaptation stress had no moderating effect in the relationship between parent's support and school adaptation. Based on these results, policy and practical suggestions for improving the school adaptation of immigrant adolescents to school life were presented.

  • In this study, we examined whether cultural stress, self-efficacy, and career-preparation behavior differed depending on the general characteristics of foreign students, and whether cultural adaptation stress and self-efficacy affect career-preparation behavior. To this end, a survey of 231 foreign students was conducted and data was analyzed using the IBM SPSS v23 statistics program. According to the study, cultural adaptation stress and self-efficacy differed depending on the general characteristics of foreign students. And cultural adaptation stress and self-efficacy have been shown to affect career-preparation behavior. Therefore, it was suggested that the government needs to develop curriculums, comparisons and programs for foreign students to help them exchange culture and adapt their studies, and that it is necessary to have professional counseling staff residing in universities to conduct career and academic counseling.

  • In this study, we looked at whether the character strength of foreign students affects the adaptation of university life and tried to figure out whether cultural adaptation stress has mediating effect. To this end, we set up a research model based on prior research, conducted a survey of 263 foreign students belonging to G City and N City, and analyzed the data using the spss statistics program. As a result of the study, the character strength of foreign students was affecting the adaptation of university life, and the cultural adaptation stress of international students partially mediated the relationship between character strength and university life adaptation. Therefore, it is suggested that it is necessary to develop a program that reduces cultural stress and to have a professional counselor in the university who can continuously consult international students.

  • The purpose of this study examines to what extent the multicultural youth's dual culture acceptance attitude is significantly affected by cultural adaptation stress and national identity using the data of the MAPS(Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study) conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute. The subject of the study was the first data of the second period of the MAPS, and 2,246 multicultural youth who were enrolled in the fourth grade of elementary school as of 2019 were used as analysis data. As a result of the study, it was found that the attitude to accept dual culture was significantly affected in the order of national identity and cultural adaptation stress. This means that the higher the national identity and the lower the cultural adaptation stress, the higher the attitude toward dual culture. On the other hand, as for the type of multicultural youth, it was found that international marriage families had the lowest attitude toward accepting dual culture. In terms of the size of the area where students live, large cities have the lowest dual cultural acceptance attitude. These results suggest that cultural adaptation stress, national identity, type of multicultural family, and area of residence act as major variables in multicultural youth's dual culture acceptance attitude.
