CREST syndrome is a form of limited cutaneous scleroderma that occurs only in certain parts of the body, such as the skin of the hands and face. CREST refers to the five main features of the syndrome: calcinosis, Raynaud's phenomenon, esophageal dysmotility, sclerodactyly, and telangiectasia. Currently, there is no standard treatment for CREST syndrome, and there have been no studies of the use of traditional Korean medicine (TKM) for this disease. This study describes the effects of Keumsuyukun-jeon on CREST syndrome. The patient in this case had typical clinical symptoms of CREST syndrome. These symptoms improved within a relatively short period of receiving the TKM treatment. The results of Anti-centromere antibody (AI) and high sensitivity C-reactive protein (mg/L) also improved.
Recently, a new testing technique called concolic testing receives lots of attention. Concolic testing generates test data by combining concrete program execution and symbolic execution to achieve high test coverage. CREST is a representative open-source test tool implementing concolic testing. Currently, however, CREST only deals with integer type as input. This paper presents a new rule for automated test data generation in presence of inputs of pointer type. The rules effectively handles multi-level stack-directed pointers that are mainly used in C programs. In addition, we describe a tool named vCREST implementing the proposed rules together with the results of applying the tool to some C programs.

This study aims to examine changes from differences in the lumbar scoliosis angle and iliac crest height due to abnormal and habitual posture shown in unilateral weight load at standing posture and suggest data for preventing and treating lumbago. The subjects of this study are 16 lumbago patients between twenties and forties with chronic lumbago over six months, but without neurological symptoms. As a result of photographing front and back with three conditions such as weight load on both sides and left or right unilateral weight load posture in order to examine changes of lumbar scoliosis and iliac crest according to changes of posture at unilateral weight load, while scoliosis angle and iliac crest height by habitual unilateral support were increased, those by opposite support were decreased. In conclusion, it was found that habitual unilateral weight load may cause continuous distortion of spinal angle and change of iliac crest height and these may be a factor of lumbago. Therefore, if habitual unilateral weight load state is kept continuously, distortion of lumbar angle and iliac crest height may be greater and common efforts to change habitual unilateral weight load are needed.

In this study, quantitative sensitivity analysis on rockfill material influencing the dam crest displacement of Concrete-Faced Rockfill Dam(CFRD) was carried out. The purpose of this study is to indicate the most important input parameter and to show the quantitative variation of displacement at the crest of CFR type dam with this input parameter. The rockfill material properties for parametric study were obtained from the results of large scale triaxial tests on 34 rockfill materials in the 22 different sites. From the statistical analysis on these data, some statistical characteristics of rockfill material properties such as property range, distribution characteristics, and correlation between the properties were investigated. based on these characteristics, 27 property combinations were constituted by Latin Hypercube sampling method. Dam crest displacements after construction, impounding, and earthquake loading were evaluated by static and dynamic numerical analysis on each combination. From the sensitivity analysis, it was found that the crest displacement of CFR type dam was absolutely affected by the shear modulus of rockfill material and the effect of friction angle of it was negligible. This relative difference of sensitivity was more outstanding in case of crest settlement than in case of crest horizontal displacement. Also, it was found that the settlement and horizontal displacement of dam crest logarithmically decreased as the shear modulus increased and the difference between the maximum value and the minimum vale amounted to about 9.5 times in case of settlement and about 10 times in case of horizontal displacement.
In case that electronic ballast employing a valley-fill passive power factor correction (PFC) circuit is used for feeding fluorescent lamps, a new method to reduce crest factor of the lamp current is studied in this paper. In order to reduce crest factor to lower value, a pulse frequency modulation technique based on the waveform of the dc-link voltage which is predetermined by the passive PFC circuit, is taken into the switching control action of the electronic ballast. An equation-based analysis between the crest factor of lamp current and the effect of varying the inverter switching frequency is comprehensively performed.
Concolic testing generates test data by combining concrete program execution and symbolic execution to achieve high test coverage. CREST is a representative open-source test tool implementing concolic testing. Currently, however, CREST aims at exploring all possible execution paths. In case of testing a specific branch or block, thus, it can be ineffective. This paper suggests a goal-oriented concolic testing that generates test data to execute a given branch or block.
Purpose: To evaluate the reliability of measurements in spiral tomography through assessing the visibility of the alveolar crest and the measurements between the alveolar crest and other anatomic structures. Materials and Methods: 110 spiral tomograms of the jaws were taken by Scanora X-ray unit from the patients. The visibility of the alveolar crests was estimated by 3 observers and classified as clearly visible, questionable visibility, or not visible. 3 observers measured the distance between the alveolar crest and the reference points of anatomic structures. The measurements were repeated 2 weeks later. Results: 52.9% of alveolar crests on upper jaws and 61.5% of alveolar crests on lower jaws were visible. The interobserver and intraobserver agreements on the visibility were low. The mean ranges of the measurements were 1.39 mm (SD = 1.37 mm) on maxilla and 1.03 mm (SD = 1.01 mm) on mandible in the interobserver evaluation. The interobserver variance was greater than the intraobserver variance in the measurements of distance. Conclusion: Spiral tomography showed a relatively low reliability in the visibility and measurements of the alveolar crest.
The seismic design of embankment dams requires more comprehensive studies to understand the behaviour of dams. Deformations primarily control this behaviour occur during or after earthquake loading. Dam failures and incidents show that the impacts of deformations should be reviewed for existing and new embankment dams. Overtopping erosion failure can occur if crest deformations exceed the freeboard at the time of the deformations. Therefore, crest settlement is one of the most critical deformations. This study developed empirical formulas using Gene Expression Programming (GEP) based on 88 cases. In the analyses, dam height (Hd), alluvium thickness (Ha), the magnitude-acceleration-factor (MAF) values developed based on earthquake magnitude (Mw) and peak ground acceleration (PGA) within this study have been chosen as variables. Results show that GEP models developed in the paper are remarkably robust and accessible tools to predict earthquake-induced crest settlement of embankment dams and perform superior to the existing formulation. Also, dam engineering professionals can use them practically because the variables of prediction equations are easily accessible after the earthquake.
