  • This study aimed to develop an HTE (It is an abbreviation for Here, There, and Everywhere) STEAM program combining with the use of an analogy in a middle school subject unit 'the solar system' and realize creative education for intelligent information society through a process of verifying the effectiveness of the program. For reference, the program was applied to 354 students in the first grade of two middle schools in South Korea - one was A middle school in Sejong City, the other B middle school in Pyeongtaek City. The STEAM program was revised and made up for the weak points for three times by a group of experts, and then it got verified for validity. The final version of the program was applied to middle school education sites in Korea for six periods in total. In other to confirm the effectiveness, two types of tests - logical thinking ability test and STEAM attitude test - were conducted before and after the program treatment. On top of that, the STEAM satisfaction test was also implemented in order to explore the students' recognition of the program after the program treatment. The results of this study were as follows. First, it turned out the STEAM program using the analogy was effective in improving the students' logical thinking ability. Second, the STEAM program blended with the analogy was also effective in improving the students' STEAM attitude. Third, the students' recognition of the STEAM program using the analogy was quite positive, and the program was efficacious in intriguing the students' interests in science. Judging from the results of the program, the students' satisfaction with the classes they take will be expected to be higher if the STEAM program is implemented in the next-term classes with more sufficient time.

  • The late 20th century saw the industrial period end only to transform into the digital era where people have begun to pay attention to craft because it a field that respects emotion as the essential value, an alternative to overcome the side effect that people have created. Today a new world - where the virtual and the real co-exist through artificial intelligence (AI) - has suddenly approached us and the future of craft is faced with a new situation as it needs to present a new creative solution as a tool that is necessary for human way of life - a tool that has been a necessity throughout history and the evolution of life. As a result for a continued development, craft attempts to establish a new paradigm through current trends represented by our modern society, which is the emergence of creative development through convergence. This study presents creative experiments attempted through the convergence of craft with other heterogeneous tendencies connected to the field. The objective of the study is to enable makers to acquire a more creative way of thinking at the same time as inspiring them and suggesting new creative possibilities in order to develop their work through creative convergence. In Chapter 2, the study investigates on the current status of craft in general, and compares it with what is taking place in Korea; in Chapter 3 the significance of convergence in craft and the process of creating is addressed through case studies. Lastly in Chapter 4, with the basis on analytical case studies, the attribute and the potential of convergence in the field of craft is observed. By analyzing different phenomena presented through attempts to converge in contemporary craft, it has been possible to view the future of the 21st century craft through assessments on what is active and what is as yet hidden potential.

  • In this paper, we primarily focus on the perspectives about creative process, which is how mathematical creativity emerged, as one aspect of mathematical creativity and then present a desirable task characteristic to measure and program characteristics to develop mathematical creativity. At first, we describe domain-generality perspective and domain-specificity perspective on creativity. The former regard divergent thinking skill as a key cognitive process embedded in creativity of various discipline domain involving language, science, mathematics, art and so on. In contrast the researchers supporting later perspective insist that the mechanism of creativity is different in each discipline. We understand that the issue on this two perspective effect on task and program to foster and measure creativity in mathematics education beyond theoretical discussion. And then, based on previous theoretical review, we draw a desirable characteristic on instruction program and task to facilitate and test mathematical creativity, and present an applicable task and instruction cases based on Geneplor model at the mathematics class in elementary school. In conclusion, divergent thinking is necessary but sufficient to develop mathematical creativity and need to consider various mathematical reasoning such as generalization, ion and mathematical knowledge.

  • This study is to understand intuition that is the tool of invention and the one factor of the creative thinking in mathematical education. For this, I examine the nature of intuition and the history of research about intuition. And I study the result of research about intuition in cognitive psychological perspectives. This study brings to a focus in informational processing model. Informational processing model is similar to the mathematical problem solving process that is expressed linear process. Recently, parallel distributed processing models try to understand the nature of intuition. But any models cannot adequately explain the nature and the phenomena of illumination of intuition. Some scholars try to examine the intuition in mathematical education. But systematic and practical research is rare. So, I suggest the mathematical educational implications about intuition. Conclusively, it is necessary to systematic concern in intuition and the methods of improvement of intuition in mathematical education.

  • Science Revolution, which stands for new paradigm in an era as a transfer, usually is accompanied with a change in intellectual sphere. Futhermore, as there is an indissoluble connection between science and an, so the correlation of two realm lead to mutual prosperity in coexistence. Recently, concerns for the phenomena of non-linear dynamics in science and its quick adaptation in art made .it possible. What is important agenda for science and art is to suggest the process of creative evolution and its method, I believe. In order to attain these, different and contra way of thinking, spirit of research and venture for unpredictable things out of daily routine should be indispensible. In this study, I am offering and reviewing the space design based upon phenomena of nonlinear dynamics, drawn from concept of chaos in physics and mathematics. This study places a great emphasis on nonlinearity which should be understood as a whole, not partially, that enable a designer to find new cosmos and principles of creation. In addition to these, I wish that a designer would stop trying partial apply in nonlinear space. In fine, I hope this study enables a designer to adapt and generate nonlinearity as creative attribute in space by understanding of phenomena of nonlinear dynamics and its process as a whole.

  • The 7th national curriculum is focused on breeding an independent and creative Korean who will lead the age of globalism and information in the 21st century. It is necessary to improve the existing assessment methods in order to develop higher thinking abilities such as creativity and problem-solving skill. Although teachers have been aware of this necessity, they have realized that it is difficult to improve the current assessment methods. In this study, we selected some assessment domains on science learning with literature reviews and case analysis. In addition, we calculated the degree of its importance by the use of Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP). We suggest a direction for improving the present assessment domains on science learning on the basis of the research. Inquiry, cognitive, creative, and affective domain among assessment domains seemed to be listed in order of importance. Moreover, problem-identifying, hypothesizing, and inquiry-planning appeared to be the highest in the degree of importance among sub categories. Considering the results of this study, the current school assessment system which is focused on cognitive domain should be improved.

  • The science writing is recognized for useful learning method to boost up scientific thinking for all class course as well as traditional lecture and experiment. Many researches say that science writing is helpful to extend students' science knowledge and scientific attitude. By the way, the researchers thought that science writing can also improve the science process skill if students participate in delicately organized learning program. In this study, we had contrived the teaching & learning strategy of science writing to improve science process skills. The learning program covers all field of Klopfer's process skills with various forms of writing; explaining writing, logical writing, critical writing, and creative writing. The learning program has been developed for 5th grade students in the regular classes in order to enhance science process skills as well as knowledge and scientific attitude. Not to miss any process skill or various kinds of writing, we used 3 dimensional frame. The axes of the frames are science process skills, forms of writing, and science curriculum contents. The students are given the final writing theme at the beginning of each chapter. They drill science process skills step by step during the classes, and have a chance to talk each other before the final writing. They practice writing skills from one sentence to full article by degrees. The effect of the program was examined by students' work and TSPS (Test of Science Process Skill). The result showed that 5th grade students had a meaningful progress in science process skills as well as knowledge and scientific attitude. we could confirm it with examining students' work in the class.

  • Under this research, the survey is made on the definitive influence of the first-year education process of the science focus school for each of humanities, science and science core courses and the level of satisfaction of the non-curriculum experiment activity program for each course to find out the effectiveness of the first-year education process of the science focus school. For this purpose, this research has set three research issues. First, By clarifying the research result through the first-year education curriculum for science core school, noticeable change was observed for science focus school students through the change of attitude related to science for each desired course of students. Second, in the self-directed learning characteristics change, there was meaningful change for each desired field of students. Students hoping for humanities curriculum had great help in improvement of creative thinking for openness, creativeness and the like, but the influence was slightly insufficient in the moderation and control capability on themselves in learning attitude. Third, By analyzing the research result comprehensively, the first-year education curriculum for science core school provides high level of tailored science learning for the science focus school students and the level of satisfaction for students was significantly high.
