Coupling bolts have replaced conventional fitted bolts in applications where the operator's safety during assembly/disassembly is of concern or where the cost of process interruption is significant. Coupling bolts have been installed on rotating flange couplings in a wide range of marine and power applications worldwide. Their use has been approved by all leading international and national classification societies and regulatory bodies. A coupling bolt is a hydraulically tensioned fitted bolt that creates a stable and rigid link between coupling flanges and simplifies assembly and disassembly. We measure the bolt dimensions for reverse engineering and study the standard of assembly-load using a mechanical formula in order to localize a coupling bolt for a shaft in a power plant. We experimentally obtain the friction coefficient and confirm the condition of bolt sets through structure analysis. We show the variation of contact pressure for the shape parameter in order to consider the result when redesigning a bolt.

The Integration of multi-agent architecture and blackboard architecture may lead to a new architecture to cope with new application areas which need some good and strong points of both the architectures. This paper suggests an integrated architecture of blackboard architecture and multi-agent architecture by using event-based implicit invocation pattern and a blackboard event detection mechanism based on Rete network. From the viewpoints of weak couplings of system components and flexible control of knowledge source agents, it is desirable to use the event-based implicit invocation pattern in the integrated architecture. But the pattern itself does not concern the performance of the architecture, and it is very critical to the performance of the integrated architecture to detect efficiently the blackboard events which can activate knowledge source agents which can contribute to the problem-solving processes of the integrated architecture. The integrated architecture suggested in this paper uses a blackboard event detection mechanism based on Rete network to detect efficiently blackboard events which can activate knowledge source agents.

In our domestic software industries, it is focused on such a high quality development/ testing process, maturity measurement, and so on. But the real industrial fields are still working on a code-centric development. Most of the existing legacy systems did not keep the design and highly increased the code complexity with more patching of the original codes. To solve this problem, we adopt a code visualization technique which is important to reduce the code complexity among modules. To do this, we suggest a tool chaining method based on the existing open source software tools, which extends NIPA's Software Visualization techniques applied to procedural languages. In addition, it should be refactored to fix bad couplings of the quality measurement indicators within the code visualization. As a result, we can apply reverse engineering to the legacy code, that is, from programming via model to architecture, and then make high quality software with this approach.
Drag torque reduction in a wet clutch pack is a key aspect of the design process of the dual clutch transmission (DCT) system. In order to reduce the drag torque caused by lubricant shear resistance, recently developed wet clutch pack systems of DCT, as well as automatic transmission and other four-wheel drive (4WD) couplings, frequently utilize wavy wet clutch pads. Therefore, wavy shape of friction pad are made on the groove patterns like waffle pattern for the reduction of drag torque. Additionally, the groove patterns are designed with larger channels at several locations on the friction pad to facilitate faster outflow of lubricant. However, channel performance is a function of the waviness of the friction pad at the location of the particular channel. This is because the discharge sectional area varies according to the waviness amplitude at the location of the particular channel. The higher location of the additional channel on the friction pad results in a larger cross-sectional area, which allows for a larger flow discharge rate. This results in reduction of the drag torque caused by the shear resistance of DCTF, because of marginal volume fraction of fluid (VOF) in the space between the friction pad and separator. This study computes the VOF in the space between the friction pad and separator, the hydrodynamic pressure developed, and the shear resistance of friction torque, by using CFD software (FLUENT). In addition, the study investigates the dependence of these parameters on the location and waviness amplitude of the channel pattern on the friction pad. The paper presents design guidelines on the proper location of high waviness amplitude on wavy friction pads.

In a bank-to-turn(BTT) missile, if a 2-gimbaled seeker was stabilized using a 2-axis rate gyro mounted along its primary axis, the change of line of sight(LOS) measured by the seeker would be induced by rolling effects due to bank-to-turn(BTT) steering as well as an actual change. It is observed that the body-coupled effects in a homing loop of BTT missile are mainly concerned with the spurious target maneuver and the coupling due to the rate gyro misalignments. In this paper, we formulate a simple linear BTT homing loop model with seeker model including each body-coupling. With the model, we analyze the effects of the couplings on the homing loop stability, and propose a direct linear compensator for the coupling to recover the stability.

In this paper, the modeling and design of high-Q multilayer passives have been investigated, and multilayer diplexer for GSM/DCS applications has been designed and fabricated using the passives. Modeling of a multilayer inductor was performed by the subsystems of distributed components, and using the modeling the optimal structures of the high-Q multilayer inductor could be designed by analyzing parasitics and couplings which affect their frequency characteristics. Multilayer diplexers for GSM/DCS applications have been designed and fabricated using LTCC technology. LPF for GSM band had the passband insertion loss of less than 0.55 dB, the return loss of more than 12 dB, and the isolation level of more than 26 dB. HPF for DCS band had the passband insertion loss of less than 0.82 dB, the return loss of more than 11 dB, and the isolation level of more than 38 dB.
The structure of a 2D grid-like copper(II) complex [Cu$(NCO)_2$(pyz)](pyz=pyrazine) (1) consists of 1D chains of Cu-pyz units connected by double end-on (EO) cyanato bridges. Each Cu(II) ion has a distorted octahedral coordination, completed by the four EO cyanato and two pyrazine ligands. Magnetic interactions through EO cyanato and pyrazine bridges in 1 are discussed on the basis of DFT broken-symmetry calculations at the B3LYP level. For model dicopper(II) complexes I (bridged by cyanato) and II (bridged by pyrazine), electronic structure calculations reproduce very well the experimental couplings for the S = 1/2 ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic exchange-coupled 2D system: the calculated exchange parameters J are +1.25 $cm^{-1}$ and -3.07 $cm^{-1}$ for I and II, respectively. The $\sigma$ orbital interactions between the Cu $x^2-y^2$ magnetic orbitals and the nitrogen lone-pair orbitals of pyrazine are analyzed from the viewpoint of through-bond interaction. The energy splitting of 0.106 eV between two SOMOs indicates that the superexchange interaction should be antiferromagnetic in II. On the other hand, there are no bridging orbitals that efficiently connect the two copper(II) magnetic orbitals in I because the HOMOs of the basal-apical NCO bridge do not play a role in the formation of overlap interaction pathway. The energy separation in the pair of SOMOs of I is calculated to be very small (0.054 eV). This result is consistent with the occurrence of weakly ferromagnetic properties in I.

Couplings between electric, magnetic, and structural order parameters result in the so-called multiferroic phenomena with two or more ferroic phenomena such as ferroelectricity, ferromagnetism, or ferroelasticity. The simultaneous ferroelectricity and ferromagnetism (magnetoelectricity) permits potential applications in information storage, spintronics, and magnetic or electric field sensors. The perovskite BiFeO3(BFO) is known to be antiferromagnetic below the Neel temperature of 647K and ferroelectric with a high Curie temperature of 1043K. It exhibits weak magnetism at room temperature due to the residual moment from a canted spin structure. It is likely that non-stoichiometry and second-phase formation are the factors responsible for leakage current in BFO. It has been suggested that oxygen non-stoichiometry leads to valence fluctuations of Fe ions in BFO, resulting in high conductivity. To reduce the large leakage current of BFO, one attempt is to make donor-doped BFO compounds and thin films. In this study, (Bi1-x,Ndx)(Fe1-y,Tiy)O3 thin films have been deposited on Pt(111)/TiO2/SiO2/Si substrates by pulsed laser deposition. The effect of dopants on the phase evolution and surface morphology are analyzed. Furthermore, electrical and magnetic properties are measured and their coupling characteristics are discussed.

A torque transmission system, which is composed of serveral gears and couplings, is flexible. Therefore, the torsion vibration occurs when the motor speed abruptly changes. Consequently, for accuracy characteristic response of motor, we must suppressed vibration. Therefore, vibration suppression is very important motor control. In order to suppress the vibration, various control method have been proposed. Specially, one method of vibration suppression is used disturbance observer and filter. The disturbance observer is used to suppress the vibration in this method. By feedback of the estimated torsion torque, the vibration can be suppressed. The coefficient diagram method is used to design the filter and proportional controller. But using coefficient diagram method, not adapted controller parameter in disturbance. In order to solve this problem. we used fuzzy controller for auto tuning controller parameter $K_P$. We proved of this approach is confirmed by simulation.
The reaction of stoichiometric amount of $FeCl_2{\cdot}4H_2O$, (2-pyridylmethyl, 3-pyridylmethyl)amine (2,3-pyma) and sodium azide/sodium thiocyanate in methanol under aerobic conditions affords the dinuclear Fe(III) complexes, [(2,3-pyma) $(N_3)_2Fe({\mu}-OCH_3)_2Fe(N_3)_2$(2,3-pyma)]${\cdot}CH_3OH$ (1) and [(2,3-pyma)$(NCS)_2Fe({\mu}-OCH_3)_2Fe(NCS)_2$(2,3-pyma)] (2) in good yield. Two bis-methoxy-bridged diiron(III) complexes are isolated and characterized. The coordination geometries around iron(III) ions in 1 and 2 are the same tetragonally distorted octahedron. The iron(III) ions are coordinated by two nitrogens of a 2,3-pyma, two nitrogens of two azide/thiocyanate ions, and two oxygens of two methoxy groups. Both compounds are isomorphous. The structures of 1 and 2 display the C-$H{\cdots}\pi$ and/or $\pi-\pi$ stacking interactions as well as hydrogen bonding interactions, respectively. Compounds 1 and 2 show significant antiferromagnetic couplings through the bridged methoxy groups between the iron(III) ions in the temperature range from 5 to 300 K ($H=-2JS_1{\cdot}S_2$, J=-19.1 and $-13.9\;cm^{-1}$ for 1 and 2).
