Dodecyl Pyridinium Bromide 水溶液中의 Micelle과 Counter-Ion 間의 解離-再結合反應에 對한 超音波에 依한 反應速度論的 硏究 (Acustic Study on the Kinetics for the Dissociation-Recombination Reaction between Micelle and Counter-ion in Dodecyl Pyridinium Bromide Solution)

  • 界面活性劑 dodecyl pyridinium bromide(D.P.B.) $20^{\circ}C$ 濃度 5∼100mM 水溶液中에서 0.1Mc~90Mc 超音波의 吸收 係數를 測定정하였다. 監 存在 與否에 關係없이 臨界 micelle 濃度(c.m.c.)以上의 濃度에서만 超音波超過 吸收가 觀測되었다. 超音波 吸收 曲線에서 D.P.B.水溶液 60mM附近에 超過 吸收 및 relaxation 振動數의 不連續的인 變化를 觀測하였다. 또 粘性係數, 電氣傳導度, 超音破速度들의 濃度曲線 에서도 같은 濃度에서 不連續的인 變化를 나타낸다. 따라서 이 濃度 附近에서 D.P.B.의 micelle의 性質에 變化가 일어나고 있다고 結論지을 수 있다. 超音波超過 吸收의 mechanism은 $M_2{\rightleftharpoons}M_1+2Br^-$ 反應에 基因됨을 알았다. 여기서 $M_2$,$ M_1$은 다른 型의 micelle이다. 正, 逆方向의 反應速度常數는 各各 $6.9 {\times} 10^5 sec^{-1)$, $6.7{\times}10^{10}sec^{-1}mole{-2}$임이 觀測되었다. 이 反應 mechanism의 自由 에너지, enthalpy, entropy 및 活性化에너지를 算出하였다.

순수 물에서 CPC/Brij 35 혼합계면활성제의 미셀화에 대한 연구 (Study on the Micellization of CPC/Brij 35 Mixed Surfactant Systems in Water)

  • CPC(1-hexadecylpyridinium chloride)와 Brij 35(polyoxyethylene(23) lauryl ether)의 혼합계면 활성제의 미셀화에 대한 임계미셀농도(CMC)와 반대이온 결합상수값(B)을 순수 물에서 CPC의 겉 보기몰분율(${\alpha}_1$)의 함수로서 전도도법으로 측정하였다. 이와 같이 측정한 CMC값에 비이상적 혼합 미셀 모델을 적용함으로써 여러 가지 열역학적 함수값($(X_i,\;{\gamma}_i,\;C_i,\;a_{i}^{M},\;{\beta}$${\Delta}H_{mix})$을 계산하고 분 석하였다. 또한 온도에 따른 CMC값의 변화로부터 CPC/Brij 35 혼합계면활성제의 미셀화에 대한 열역학 함수값(${\Delta}{G^o}_m,\;{\Delta}{H^o}_m$${\Delta}{S^o}_m)$)을 계산하였다. 그 결과, ${\Delta}{G^o}_m$값은 모두 음의 값을 나타내었지 만, ${\Delta}{H^o}_m$${\Delta}{S^o}_m$의 값은 측정한 온도와 ${\alpha}_1$의 값에 따라 음 혹은 양의 값을 나타내었다.

중성자, 감마선, 엑스선 방사선 측정 및 통합 제어 시스템 개발 (Development of Neutron, Gamma ray, X-ray Radiation Measurement and Integrated Control System)

  • 본 논문에서는 중성자, 감마선, 엑스선 등의 방사선을 측정하는 통합 제어 시스템을 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 원격 또는 네트워크상으로 측정 및 분석한 데이터를 디스플레이를 통해 모니터링 및 제어할 수 있는 장비로서, 현장에 가지 않고도 시스템 각 구성 부분의 상태를 보고 변경하여 원격으로 감시 및 관리할 수 있다. 제안하는 시스템은 감마선/엑스선 센서부, 중성자 센서부, 주제어 임베디드 시스템부, 전용 디스플레이 장치 및 GUI부, 원격 UI부 등으로 구성된다. 감마선/엑스선 센서부는 NaI(Tl) Scintillation Detector를 사용하여 저준위의 감마선 및 엑스선을 측정한다. 중성자 센서부는 Proportional Counter Detector(저준위 중성자)와 Ion Chamber Type Detector(고준위 중성자)를 사용하여 중성자를 측정한다. 주제어 임베디드 시스템부는 방사선을 검출하여 초단위로 샘플링하고 누적된 펄스 및 전류값에 대한 방사선량으로 변환한다. 전용 디스플레이 장치 및 GUI부는 방사선 측정 결과와 변환된 방사선량 및 방사능량 측정 수치를 출력하고, 사용자에게 제어 조건 설정 및 검출부에 대한 캘리브레이션 기능을 제공한다. 원격 UI부는 측정된 값들을 취합, 저장하여 원격 감시 시스템에 전달한다. 제안된 시스템의 성능을 평가하기 위하여 공인시험기관에서 실험한 결과는 중성자 검출부는 ${\pm}8.2%$ 이하의 측정 불확도가 측정되었고, 감마선, 엑스선 검출부는 7.5%이하의 불확도가 측정되어 국제 표준인 ${\pm}15%$ 이하에서 정상동작 됨이 확인되었다.

Interaction of the Post-transition Metal Ions and New Macrocycles in Solution

  • Complexation of $Cd^{2+},\;Pb^{2+}\;and\;Hg^{2+}$ ions with four cryptands were studied by potentiometry and solution calorimetry in various weight percent methanol-aqueous solvent at 25${\circ}$C under $CO_2$free nitrogen atmosphere. The stabilities of the complexes were dependent on the cavity size of macrocycles. The $Hg^{2+}$ ion stability constants are higher than those of $Cd^{2+}\;and\;Pb^{2+}$ ion. All the cryptands formed complexes having 1 : 1 (metal to ligand) mole-ratio except for $Hg^{2+}-L_1$ (cryptand 1,2b: 3,5-benzo-9,14,17-trioxa-1,7-diazabicyclo-(8,5,5) heptadecane) and $Cd^{2+}-L_2$ (cryptand 2,2b: 3,5-benzo-10,13,18,21-tetraoxa-1,7-diazabicyclo (8,5,5) eicosane) complexes. $Hg^{2+}-L_1$ complex was a sandwitch type, and the $Cd^{2+}-L_2$ complex showed two stepwise reactions. Thermodynamic parameters of the $Cd^{2+}-L_2$ complex were $6.08(log\;K_1)$, -7.28 Kcal/mol $({\Delta}H_1)$, and $4.78\;(log\;K_2)$, -4.62 Kcal/mol $({\Delta}H_2)$, respectively, for 1 : 1 and 2: 1 mole-ratio. The sequences of the selectivity were increased in the order of $Hg^{2+}\;>Pb^{2+}\;>Cd^{2+}$ ion for $L_3\;and\;L_4$ macrocycles, and the $L_2$-macrocycle has a selectivity for $Cd^{2+}$ ion relative to $Zn^{2+},\;Ni^{2+},\;Pb^{2+}\;and\;Hg^{2+}$ ions. Thus, it is expected that the $L_2$ can be used as carrier for seperation of the post transition metals by macrocycles-mediated liquid membrane because $L_2$ is not soluble in water, and the difference of stability constants of the metal complexes with $L_2$ are large as compared with the other transition metal complexes. The $^1H\;and\;^{13}C-NMR studies indicated that the nitrogen atoms of cryptands have greater affinity to the post transition metal ions than the oxygen atoms, and that the planarities of the macrocycles were lost by complexation with the metal ions because of the perturbation of ring current of benzene molecule attached to macrocycles and counter-anions.

Improving Power Conversion Efficiency and Long-term Stability Using a Multifunctional Network Polymer Membrane Electrolyte; A Novel Quasi-solid State Dye-sensitized Solar Cell

  • There are many efforts to improving the power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). Although DSCs have a low production cost, their low PCE and low thermal stability have limited commercial applications. This study describes the preparation of a novel multifunctional polymer gel electrolyte in which a cross-linking polymerization reaction is used to encapsulate $TiO_2$ nanoparticles toward improving the power conversion efficiency and long-term stability of a quasi-solid state DSC. A series of liquid junction dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) was fabricated based on polymer membrane encapsulated dye-sensitized $TiO_2$ nanoparticles, prepared using a surface-induced cross-linking polymerization reaction, to investigate the dependence of the solar cell performance on the encapsulating membrane layer thickness. The ion conductivity decreased as the membrane thickness increased; however, the long term-stability of the devices improved with increasing membrane thickness. Nanoparticles encapsulated in a thick membrane (ca. 37 nm), obtained using a 90 min polymerization time, exhibited excellent pore filling among $TiO_2$ particles. This nanoparticle layer was used to fabricate a thin-layered, quasi-solid state DSC. The thick membrane prevented short-circuit paths from forming between the counter and the $TiO_2$ electrode, thereby reducing the minimum necessary electrode separation distance. The quasi-solid state DSC yielded a high power conversion efficiency (7.6/8.1%) and excellent stability during heating at $65^{\circ}C$ over 30 days. These performance characteristics were superior to those obtained from a conventional DSC (7.5/3.5%) prepared using a $TiO_2$ active layer with the same thickness. The reduced electrode separation distance shortened the charge transport pathways, which compensated for the reduced ion conductivity in the polymer gel electrolyte. Excellent pore filling on the $TiO_2$ particles minimized the exposure of the dye to the liquid and reduced dye detachment.

Hard TiN Coating by Magnetron-ICP P $I^3$D

  • A 30-kV plasma immersion ion implantation setup (P $I^3$) has been equipped with a self-developed 6'-magnetron to perform hard coatings with enhanced adhesion by P $I^3$D(P $I^3$ assisted deposition) process. Using ICP source with immersed Ti antenna and reactive magnetron sputtering of Ti target in $N_2$/Ar ambient gas mixture, the TiN films were prepared on Si substrates at different pulse bias and ion-to-atom arrival ratio ( $J_{i}$ $J_{Me}$ ). Prior to TiN film formation the nitrogen implantation was performed followed by deposition of Ti buffer layer under A $r^{+}$ irradiation. Films grown at $J_{i}$ $J_{Me}$ =0.003 and $V_{pulse}$=-20kV showed columnar grain morphology and (200) preferred orientation while those prepared at $J_{i}$ $J_{Me}$ =0.08 and $V_{pulse}$=-5 kV had dense and eqiaxed structure with (111) and (220) main peaks. X-ray diffraction patterns revealed some amount of $Ti_{x}$ $N_{y}$ in the films. The maximum microhardness of $H_{v}$ =35 GN/ $M^2$ was at the pulse bias of -5 kV. The P $I^3$D technique was applied to enhance wear properties of commercial tools of HSS (SKH51) and WC-Co alloy (P30). The specimens were 25-kV PII nitrogen implanted to the dose 4.10$^{17}$ c $m^{-2}$ and then coated with 4-$\mu\textrm{m}$ TiN film on $Ti_{x}$ $N_{y}$ buffer layer. Wear resistance was compared by measuring weight loss under sliding test (6-mm $Al_2$ $O_3$ counter ball, 500-gf applied load). After 30000 cycles at 500 rpm the untreated P30 specimen lost 3.10$^{-4}$ g, and HSS specimens lost 9.10$^{-4}$ g after 40000 cycles while quite zero losses were demonstrated by TiN coated specimens.s.

  • The purpose of this reserch is to design the blood cell counting instrument which can measure the number of RBC(Red Blood Cell) and WBC(White Blood Cell) including many other blood component. The proposed method uses the electrical impedence method and the new discrimination method wi th DSP chip and software algorithm. The system consist of control unit, blood cell discrimination unit, hemoglobin spectrometer, post detect ion processor unit, and IBM-PC interface unit. In this paper, the discrimination system has been implemented using digital signal processor, which result in the reduction of system hardware and cost. The system is helpful in providing necessary clinical test for screen test and quality control of hematology.

  • PPS 소자가 삽입된 N형 실리콘 제어 정류기(NSCR_PPS) 소자에서 채널차단영역의 이온주입 변화가 정전기 보호 성능에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 종래의 NSCR 표준소자는 on 저항, 스냅백 홀딩 전압 및 열적 브레이크다운 전압이 너무 낮아 마이크로칩의 정전기보호소자로 적용이 어려웠다. 그러나 본 연구에서 제안하는 채널 차단 영역의 이온주입 조건을 변화시켜 각각 변형설계된 소자에서는 채널 차단 이온주입이 정전기 보호성능의 향상에 영향을 주는 중요한 파라미터였으며, CPS_PDr+HNF 구조의 변형소자는 정전기보호소자의 설계창을 만족시키는 향상된 정전기보호성능을 나타내어 고전압 동작용 마이크로 칩의 정전기보호 소자로 적용 가능함을 확인하였다.

Cloning of Rod Opsin Genes Isolated from Olive Flounder Paralichthys olivaceus, Japanese Eel Anguilla japonica, and Common Carp Cyprinus carpio

  • G Protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) mediating wide ranges of physiological responses is one of the most attractive targets for drug development. Rhodopsin, a dim-light photoreceptor, has been extensively used as a model system for structural and functional study of GPCRs. Fish have rhodopsin finely-tuned to their habitats where the intensity and the wavelength of lights are changed depending on its water-depth. To study the detailed molecular characteristics of GPCR architecture and to understand the fishery light-sensing system, genes encoding rod opsins were isolated from fishes living under different photic environments. Full-length rod opsin genes were obtained by combination of PCR amplification and DNA walking strategy of genomic DNA isolated from olive flounder, P. olivaceus, Japanese eel, A. japonica, and Common carp C. carpio. Deduced amino acid sequences showed a typical feature of rod opsins including the sites for Schiffs base formation (Lys296) and its counter ion (Glu113), disulfide formation (Cys110 and Cys187), and palmitoylation (Cys322 and Cys323) although Cys322 is replaced by Phe in Japanese eel. Comparison of opsins by amino acid sequence alignment indicated the closest similarity between P. olivaceus and H. hippoglossus (94%), A. japonica and A. anguilla (98%), and C. carpio and C. auratus (95%), respectively.
