Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the understanding about speech therapy and the satisfaction of counseling about speech therapy according to the characteristics of mothers who have children with disabilities, and to devise the clinical instruction methods to provide the effective speech therapy by identifying the correlation between the two variables. Methods: This study conducted a survey for 78 mothers of children with disabilities who use speech therapy labs in university. 17 questions were composed to investigate the understanding degree about speech therapy and 24 questions were composed to investigate the satisfaction degree about speech therapy counseling. Results: First, the survey showed that mothers who have the higher education level have the higher understanding degree about language(p<0.01). Second, the survey showed that mothers who have the higher education level have the lower satisfaction degree about counseling process(p<0.5). In the view of job status, mothers who have a job have the higher satisfaction degree about counseling time(p<0.5). Third, the survey showed that in the view of mothers'understanding degree about speech therapy and satisfaction degree about counseling, mothers who have the higher understanding degree about language, speech therapy tools and speech therapy area have the higher satisfaction degree about counseling. Conclusions: This study showed the necessity to understand the subjects'needs exactly and communicate with mothers actively. In addition, the concrete and various methods should be devised in order to increase the understanding degree about speech therapy and increase the satisfaction degree of counseling about the clinical practice environment and language therapy process.
Objectives: This study examined the effects of nutrition counseling by the nutrition care process (NCP) on diet therapy practice and glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: The survey was conducted on 49 patients whose hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) level ranged from 6.5% to below 10% among patients aged 30~60s with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Nutrition counseling by the NCP process was carried out twice: first nutrition counseling and follow up counseling. The questionnaires were composed of 54 questions in five fields (general characteristics, health-related behaviors, diet therapy-related items, dietary life, diet therapy-related knowledge, diet therapy-related barriers). Nutrition intervention in nutrition counseling was performed based on the individualized diagnosis of NCP. Results: All the subjects practiced self-monitoring of their blood glucose levels, regular exercise, and diet therapy after NCP-based nutrition counseling. Diet therapy-related knowledge and practice by the subjects were improved after nutrition counseling. While the intake of boiled white rice decreased, the intake of boiled brown rice and barley rice in the subjects increased significantly. After nutrition counseling, the weight and HbA1c of the subjects decreased. Conclusions: These results suggest that personalized nutrition counseling by NCP process is effective for diet therapy compliance and glycemic control of type 2 diabetic patients.
The present study was to investigate child care teather's and parents's recognition and need about child counseling and to analyse differences between them. The subjects for this study were 244 child care teachers and 260 mothers of the day care centers. The major finding were as follows; Most child care teachers are aware of child counseling through lecture, pre-service education, and internet. Most mothers hear about child counseling through internet. They think that child counseling is very effective for young children, especially for negative experience and emotion. Most child care teachers think that they can administer child counseling. especially daycare centers. But mothers think that special facilities is the most appropriate place by child counseling. Child care teachers and mothers regard the credibility of human being as personal characteristics required for child counseling. Counseling specialists are to be the most appropriate person for followed by child care teather's and parents. And they think that special training is needed for child counseling. but few of them receive special training. They perceive the necessity of professional education in child counseling. but they rarely experience related education of child counseling. Especially, they feel lack of time and information. They also want to apply to child counseling children education after learning it through counseling association or by observing real situations in child counseling center using morning time or during weekends. Most mothers and child care teachers know play therapy, art therapy. bibliotherapy, sand play therapy.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is that victims of technology leaks and people concerned about leaks complain of stress over security concerns. However, there are no psychological treatments among the government's comprehensive plans to prevent technology leaks. Therefore, the government intends to present education methods using the NLP (Neuro Linguistic Program), a collective counseling technique, to heal the psychological injury of the victims. Psychological counseling methods include cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoanalytic behavioral therapy, humanism therapy, art therapy, and other psychological therapies. Among them, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) method was used. NLP has three concepts: neuron, language, and programming, and is used as a general method for group counseling. Research design, data and methodology: In relation to composition, Chapter 1 explained the purpose and necessity of the study, Chapter 2 explained the types of psychological counseling and NLPs to help understand the study, introduced the prior study related to the development of collective counseling programs through NLP, and Chapter 3 developed a security psychological counseling education program. In addition, FGI(Focus Group Interview) was conducted for professionals. Results: Corporate counseling considered most in this study should satisfy client, counselor and manager differently from individual counseling. For this purpose, the result was composed of 11 times. In order to derive personal problems for clients, they consisted of finding, loving, expressing, and emancipating self. And, It solved the leakage anxiety to suggest a professional solution for the counselor. In addition, this course helps them become familiar with counseling techniques for becoming a good security administrator. Lastly, it was configured to leave the result for the manager to suggest the organizational development method through this training. The implication of this study is to derive psychological counseling methods for security officers. Most companies in the field of security counseling complain about technology leakage stress. There is currently no psychotherapy support project under the policy. And It was developed because it can expect sales improvement from security consultation. Conclusions: In conclusion, the results were organized to be left to the manager so that he could suggest how to develop the organization through this time.
The purpose of the study is both to develope the group counseling program applying Reality Therapy, by which positive body image could be conceived by adolescent women, by helping them identify their bodies as what they are, and then admit their real bodies, and also find out some practical methodologies of self-esteem, and to verify the program to show how effectively this program can be applied to them. Data were collected by self-reported questionnaires(body image and depression) from 59 high school girls in Seoul who were selected by criteria of this study, from the 1st of September to 10th of November, 2000. The experimental group participated in the group counseling by applying Reality Therapy with 8 sessions for 4 weeks. Descriptive statistics, homogeneity test, hypothesis testing, reliability were performed statistically by utilizing SAS pc program, and additionally the reaction due to the change of body image by adolescent women was also analyzed. The results drawn through the present study are as follows: 1. A hypothesis that 'adolescent women who participated in the group counseling program by applying Reality Therapy may get higher points on body image than adolescent women who did not participated' has been adopted (t=6.73, p=.000). 2. A hypothesis that 'adolescent women who participated in the group counseling program by applying Reality Therapy may get lower points on depression than adolescent women who did not participated' has been adopted (t=5.28, p=.000). 3. After applying the group counseling program, the degree of depression for upper group who obtained higher preliminary points on depression has decreased rather meaningfully more than that for lower group who obtained higher preliminary points(t=5.58, p=.000). 4. Reactions associated with positive change in body image of adolescent women who participated in the group counseling program by applying Reality Therapy has been shown to be body acceptance, enhancement of self-esteem, and change of value judgment of beauty. 5. The difference in the motivation and attitude of each group has been observed, by analyzing the reactions obtained from those who show the highest change of body image and those who show the lowest change of body image through the group counseling program by applying Reality Therapy. According to the present studies, it can be concluded that the group counseling program by applying Reality Therapy has turned out as an effective strategy for nursing intervention for adolescent women, by helping them form positive body images and reducing depression.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of nutrition counseling on diabetes management by determining changes in anthropometry and blood components as well as knowledge and practice of diet therapy and nutrient intake in 34 (male 11, female 23) type 2 diabetes patients. The knowledge and the practice of diet therapy, drinking, smoking and exercise were analyzed by questionnaires. Dietary nutrient intake were obtained from the patients by the 1 day 24-hr recall. Blood glucose level and blood pressure were measured before and 3 months after the treatment. The results are summarized as follows: Average weight (p<0.05) and body mass index (p<0.05) were significantly lower post-counseling. Fasting blood glucose levels (p<0.01) and postprandial-2hour blood glucose levels (p<0.01) were also significantly lower post-counseling. In lifestyle changes for self-management the patients showed significantly higher exercise habits post-counseling (p<0.01). Regarding their level of diet knowledge, they showed significantly higher levels post-counseling in six items such as importance of diet therapy for diabetes (p<0.001), principles of diet therapy (p<0.001), nutrient composition of foods (p<0.01), carbohydrate composition of foods (p<0.001), the prescribed calories (p<0.001) understanding food item and exchange units of cereals, grains (p<0.001) and fruits, juices (p<0.001). Regarding their diet practices, the patients showed significantly higher levels of practice post-counseling in keeping within permitted meal size (p<0.001), using food exchange lists (p<0.001), keeping exact meal times (p<0.01), and controling sweet foods (p<0.001). Protein (p<0.05), animal lipid (p<0.05), and vitamin C (p<0.05) intakes were significantly higher post-counseling.
Purpose: There is little emphasis on alternative forms of communication in psychotherapy, thus leaving a gap in research on the impact and effects of alternatives such as using artistic expressions. The current research, therefore, seeks to address the gap by investigating the effect of psychological counseling using Art Therapy on improving workers' job efficiency. Research design, data and methodology: The present author collected topic related to prior studies in terms of psychological counseling, art therapy, and employee job efficiency. And then, the author conducted clear procedure of the screening to eliminate inappropriate previous works including conference papers and dissertations so that this research could obtain only journal articles and books which have been proven by high degree of reliability and validity. Results: This research has concluded that psychological counselling using art therapy is pertinent to improving the worker's job efficiency in various ways, addressing properly mental health issues ranging from small to complicated or acute issues, thus promoting the well-being of employees to work at their optimum or best possible conditions. Conclusions: Psychological counseling using art therapy improves self-confidence, esteem, and awareness. Further, it enhances their social skills, expression capability, and general work ability. Elsewhere it improves coping with pain and reduces stress and depression.
Objectives In modern psychiatry, psychological counseling is important to mental curing. Methods We analysed the characters of each constitution, and tried to find out which kind of counseling is suitable for each constitution. Results and Conclusions Soeumin is passive and tend to be depressive. So the self-esteem of soeumin is lower than that of other constitution. So, they mainly need social support and supportive counseling. Soyangin is tend to be extrovert group and easy to have fear. It is mainly caused by cognitive distortion, so they mainly need cognitive therapy. Taeumin is very stable and don't like to move. Taeumin Jeongchung(怔忡) is similar to panic disorder. So they need cognitive therapy and exercise counseling to exercise regularly. Taeyangin is tend to be angry, so they need meditation therapy to quell anger.
The purposes of this study were to examine the effects of narrative therapy group counseling on children's dysfunctional beliefs and levels of aggression. The subjects were 20 students in grade 5 who had been randomly assigned to an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group was treated with narrative therapy group counseling. The experiment was performed over 10 sessions for 10 weeks. In order to test the experimental effects, post testswere administered after treatment. The results were analyzed by means of MANOVA. The findings of the study were as follows : Compared to the control group, the experimental group experienced a significant reduction in dysfunctional beliefs and levels of aggression.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze domestic qualitative research papers of the Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy and suggest the possibility of applying it to Korean medicine counseling. Methods: Domestic research papers were gathered by keywords 'Satire Counseling' or 'Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy' and 'Qualitative Research' in RISS (http://www.riss.kr/), KISS (http://kiss.kstudy.com/), OASIS (http://oasis.kiom.re.kr/). The results were seven papers. Seven papers were selected based on grounded theory and case studies. Researchers analyzed the phenomena during the course of counseling to discuss the mechanism of the Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy and consider its applicability to Korean medicine psychotherapy. Results: The Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy has three points: 'Self', 'Communication', and 'Family'. Positive changes such as 'Self-recovery', 'Consistent communication', and 'Recovery of relationships' are derived from these three points. And techniques such as iceberg exploration, family maps, three-members in a born family, and the family sculpture are also effective means. Conclusions: The Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy is valuable in the clinical fields of Korean medicine counseling, especially relative to problems stemming from relationships.
