해양바이오수소개발 사업의 상업생산을 위한 예비경제성평가 (Economic Feasibility Study for Commercial Production of Bio-hydrogen)

  • This project sought to conduct an economic feasibility study regarding the commercial production of bio-hydrogen by the marine hyperthermophilic archaeon, Thermococcus onnurineus NA1 using carbon monoxide-containing industrial off-gas. We carried out the economic evaluation of the bio-hydrogen production process using the raw material of steel mill by-product gas. The process parameter was as follows: $H_2$ production rate was 5.6 L/L/h; the conversion of carbon monoxide was 60.7%. This project established an evaluation criterion for about 10,000 tonne/year. Inflation factors were considered as 3%. The operating costs were recalculated based on prices in 2014. The total investment required for development was covered 30% by capital and 70% by a loan. The operation cost for the 0.5-year test and integration, and the cost for the first three months in the 50% production period were considered as the working capital in the cost estimation. The costs required for the rental of office space, facilities, and other related costs from the construction through to full-scale production periods were considered as continuing expenses. Materials, energy, waste disposal and other charges were considered as the operating cost of the development system. Depreciation, tax, maintenance and repair, insurance, labor, interest rate charges, general and administrative costs, lubrication and miscellaneous expenses were also calculated. The hydrogen price was set at US$ 4.15/kg for the economic evaluation. As a result, the process was considered to be economical with the payback period of 6.3 years, NPV of 18 billion Won and IRR of 26.7%.

각 부하지점별 유효부하지속곡선 작성법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Construction of the CMELDC at Load Points)

  • This paper illustrates a new method for constructing composite power system effective load duration curve(CMELDC) at load points. The main concept of proposed method is that the CMELDC can be obtain from convolution integral processing of the outage probabilistic distribution function of not supplied power and the load duration curve given at each load point. The effective load duration curve (ELDC) at HLI plays an important part in probabilistic production simulation, reliability evaluation, outage cost assessment and power supply margins assesment for power system planning and operation. And also, the CMELDC at HLII will extend the application areas of outage cost assessment and reliability evaluation at each load point. The CMELDC at load points using the Monte Carlo method and a DC load flow constrained LP have already been developed by authors. The effective load concept at HLII, however, has not been introduced sufficiently in last paper although the concept is important. In this paper, the main concept of the effective load at HLII which is proposed in this study is defined in details as the summation of the original load and the probabilistic loads caused by the forced outage of generators and transmission lines at this load point. The outage capacity probabilistic distribution function at HLII can be obtained by combining the not supplied powers and the probabilities of the not supplied powers at this load point. It si also expected that the proposed CMELDC can be applied usefully to research areas such as reliability evaluation, probabilistic production cost simulation and analytical outage cost assessment, etc. at HLII in future. The characteristics and effectiveness of this methodology are illustrated by case study of IEEE-RTS.

O2O 플랫폼 충성도에 플랫폼 정보 품질과 고객 정보품질이 미치는 영향 분석 (An Analysis of the Effect of Platform Information Quality and Customer Information Quality on Customer Loyalty to Online to Offline Platforms)

  • Purpose: This study aims to investigate the impact of two types of information quality, which are platform-oriented information quality and customer-oriented information quality, on customers' decision-making processes in the Online to offline (O2O) platform environment. Grounded in the product brokering efficiency model, which encompasses screening cost, evaluation cost, and decision quality, a model framework was developed. Furthermore, this study explores how these decision-making processes affect customer loyalty. Methods: Given that food delivery apps are the most widely used O2O service in Korea, this study targeted users of these apps for data analysis. We conducted hypothesis testing through a purposive sampling methodology focusing on food delivery app users. A Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling analysis was conducted to analyze the data. The data collection occurred via an online survey from October to December 2021, with a total of 212 respondents participating. Results: The results of this study revealed the significant role of information quality in helping customers' decision processes while using food delivery apps. Specifically, it was found that platform-oriented information positively influences decision quality, while customer-oriented information significantly affects both the reduction of evaluation cost and the enhancement of decision quality. Additionally, the study indicated that lower evaluation costs and higher decision quality lead to increased platform loyalty. However, a reduction in screening cost did not have a significant impact on platform loyalty. Conclusion: While previous studies have overlooked the existence of two sides, service provider and user, in a platform, this research holds significance in its analysis of how information quality impacts loyalty by utilizing the two kinds of information quality. Practitioners can enhance customer loyalty to the platform by enriching customer-oriented information, thereby reducing customers' evaluation costs and encouraging more loyal usage of the platform.

투입노력 양에 기반한 소프트웨어 유지보수 비용산정 모형 (A Software Maintenance Cost Estimation Model based on Real Maintenance Efforts)

  • The cost of software maintenance occupies about two thirds in the software lifecycle. However, it is not easy to estimate the cost of software maintenance because of various viewpoints about software maintenance, unclear estimation methods, and complex procedures. Until now, the cost estimation model has used compensation factors for software characteristic and environment on the basis of program size. Especially, most of existing models use maintenance rate of total software cost as a main variable. This paper suggests the software maintenance cost estimation model that uses the result of calculating real maintenance efforts. In this paper, we classify functional maintenance and non-functional maintenance as software maintenance activity type. For functional maintenance, present function point of target software is needed to evaluate. The suggested maintenance cost evaluation model is applied to a software case in public sector. This paper discusses some differences between our model and other modes.

  • Economics of available alternatives in the transmission planning are evaluated by the investment cost, loss cost and congestion cost. Congestion/loss cost is calculated in many years and many load levels by unit commitment of generators, optimal dispatch, load flow, judgement about transmission congestion and re-dispatch to reduce the congestion. The greatest difficulties to introduce variable optimization techniques on the transmission planning is the convergence of load flow. In this paper, economics in the transmission planning are evaluated using DC load flow, and case study is conducted on the Korea power system by proposed congestion/loss calculation methods.

가치산정법에 의한 전력품질비용 산정 및 단일화지수의 개발 (Evaluation of Power Quality Cost Based on Value-Based Methodology and Development of Unified Index)

  • This paper presents an Unified Index which can evaluate a performance of a distribution system based on value-based methodology. Reliability cost and voltage sags cost are calculated for each load point using Reliability Sector Customer Damage Function(SCDF). Aging cost is calculated for each load point using Aging SCDF. Power loss cost and operation cost are calculated for the system. By summation of each cost of load point and system, power quality cost can be obtained. Finally, this paper developed an unified index which can show the performance of a distribution system. Presented method has been applied to a real system, the usefulness of the method has been verified.

Safer Zone Analysis for Multiple Investment Alternatives on the Total-Cost Unit-Cost Domain

  • Along with the recent trend toward increasing variety and shorter life of products in the market, evaluation of risk for economic investment alternatives is of practical importance in manufacturing companies. This paper assumes that each alternative is composed of demand volume and unit sales price as income factors, and unit variable cost and fixed cost as expense factors. The paper assumes that these four factors move worse from the originally expected values, toward the direction of decreasing profit. Values of these four factors are also assumed to fluctuate from year to year over the entire multi-period. By applying the analysis of the breakeven points to each of the four factors, safer area against these changes is represented on the two dimensional domain called normalized total-cost unit-cost domain. A practical numerical example is analyzed to verify the validity of the proposed method.

미국의 원전해체 비용평가 기초자료 및 동향 분석 (Status of Nuclear Power Plant Decommissioning Cost Analysis in USA)

  • 원전의 안전한 해체 관리를 위해 원전 해체 비용 평가는 매우 중요하다. 가장 많은 원전 해체 경험을 갖고 있는 미국의 경우 1970년대부터 원자력시설의 해체를 위하여 비용평가 연구를 진행하였다. 미국 NRC는 다양한 로형 및 원자력시설에 대한 해체 기술, 안전성 및 비용에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 전체 해체 비용에서 운영허가종료비용이 가장 큰 비중을 차지하며, 그 다음으로는 사용후핵연료 관리, 부지복원순으로 평가되었다. 해체비용은 전체비용에 있어 운영허가종료가 제일 큰 비중을 차지하며 사용후핵연료관리, 부지복원 순으로 평가되었다. 즉시해체의 경우 지연해체에 비해 사용후핵연료관리 비용이 증가하였으며 지연해체의 경우 운영허가종료의 비용이 증가하였다. 전반적으로 즉시해체에 비해 지연해체의 경우가 뚜렷하게 이득이 보이지 않고 있다. 국내 원전 해체 비용 평가시 부지 조건에 따른 평가를 고려해야할 필요가 있다고 판단된다. 또한 국내의 경우 IAEA의 권고사항을 적용하여 방사성폐기물 분류체계를 재정비하였다. 이에 따라 해체시 발생하는 방사성폐기물 물량 산정시, 선행 미국 원전해체 자료를 신분류체계에 적합하게 활용하기 위한 방법을 개발해야할 필요가 있다. 특히 자체처분 대상폐기물 평가 방법론 설정은 해체비용의 정확성을 확보하는 중요한 인자로 작용할 것이다. 또한 국내 원전해체 비용 평가를 위하여 시설 특성과 작업 특성에 적용할 수 있는 정보자료 구축이 필요하다.

비용편익분석을 이용한 일 재가노인간호센터의 고혈압 및 당뇨관리 효과평가 (An Evaluation of Effects on Hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus Management of a Community-Based Nursing Care Center Using Cost-Benefit Analysis)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the economic efficiency of a community-based nursing care center to help policy makers determine whether or not to invest in similar facilities. Methods: The subjects were 101 elderly people over 65 years who participated in a health management program from February 1 to July 31, 2007. Direct cost was estimated with center operations cost, medical cost for out-patients and pharmacy cost. Indirect cost was measured by transportation cost. Direct benefit was calculated by saved medical cost for out-patients, saved pharmacy cost, saved transportation cost, and reducing hospital charges. Indirect benefit was estimated with prevention of severe complications. Economic efficiency was evaluated by cost-benefit ratio and net benefit. Results: Operating a community-based nursing care center was found to be cost-effective. Specifically, the cost of operating the center evaluated here was estimated at 135 million won while the benefit was estimated at 187 million won. Benefit-cost ratio was 1.38. Conclusion: The Community-based nursing care center that was described here could be a useful health care delivery system for reducing medical expenditures.

천연가스.지역난방 수요관리 투자사업의 회피비용 산정기법 개발 및 적용 (Methodology and Application of Avoided Cost Calculation for Natural Gas and District Heating DSM programs)

  • This paper proposed the calculation method of the avoided cost for natural gas and district heating DSM programs. And the proposed method is applied to real DSM programs. The avoided cost for natural gas consists of commodity avoided cost, supply equipment avoided cost, storage equipment avoided cost, and electric power avoided cost. In case of the district heating, avoided cost consists of heat generation equipment avoided cost, heat energy avoided cost, environment avoided cost, and electric power avoided cost. This method can be used to evaluate the benefit of DSM programs quantitatively in cost. Therefore, this method can contribute to make the cost-effectiveness evaluation system and to operate the DSM programs for natural gas and district heating effectively.
