  • 본 논문에서는 고출력 증폭기와 송신 펄스 성형 필터로서 Raised Cosine filter (RCF)를 사용하는 OFDM 시스템에서 비선형 왜곡 보상을 위한 고정점 반복 사전왜곡기를 제안하고 이의 성능을 검증하였다. 제안된 사전왜곡기는 RCF 전단에 위치하나 이의 Zero-Intersymbol Interference 성질을 이용하여 단지 고출력 증폭기에 의한 기억성이 없는 비선형 왜곡만을 보상하는 효율적인 구조이다. 또한 성능 검증을 위해 필터 전단에 위치하는 사전왜곡기와 증폭기 전단에 위치하여 증폭기의 비선형 왜곡만을 보상하는 사전왜곡기를 비교하여, 필터에서 ISI를 제거한 경우에는 사전왜곡기의 위치에 관계없이 비선형 왜곡을 효과적으로 보상할 수 있다는 점을 모의실험을 통해 확인하였다.

Validity of Ocean Wave Spectrum Using Rayleigh Probability Density Function

  • The distribution of wave heights is assumed to be a Rayleigh distribution, based on the assumption of a narrow band and Gaussian distribution of wave elevation. The present study was started with doubts about the narrow band assumption. We selected the wave spectra widely used to simulate irregular random waves. The wave spectra used in this study included the Pierson-Moskowitz spectrum, Bretschneider-Mitsuyasu spectrum, and JONSWAP spectrum. The directionality of the waves was considered. The cosine 2-l type directional spreading function and mixed form of the half-cosine 2-s type with Mitsuyasu type directional spreading are considered here to investigate the effects of a directional spreading function on random waves. The simulated wave height distribution is compared with a Rayleigh distribution.

  • In this paper, we introduce a unit root test via discrete cosine transform in the AR(1) process. We first investigate the statistical properties of DCT coefficients under the stationary AR(1) process and the random walk process in order to verify the validity of the proposed method. A bootstrapping approach is proposed to induce the distribution of the test statistic under the unit root. We performed simulation studies for comparing the powers of the Dickey-Fuller test and the proposed test.

  • A Study of Image Compression Algorithm using DCT This paper describes the system that implement a JPEG(Joint Photographic Experts Group) algorithm based on DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform) uslng CCD kameva, Image Grabber, and IBM PC. After cosine transforms the acquisited image, this algorithm quantize and entropy encode the coefficients by JPEG code table. The coefficients are reconstructed by the Huffman decoding, dequantized procedure, and Inverse cosine transform. The results obtained from the impleulented system are as follows. (1) For effcient storage and easy implementation, this system save Image as a PCX formal (2) Thls system get 7:1 compression ratio(3.8 RMSE value) without large distortion. (3) With a low pass filtering, thls system eliminate high frequency components and get 20% enhanced compression ratio. (4) Thls system enhance the reconstructed Image using histogram modeling.

A Study on Characteristics of Noise Propagation for Railway (철도차량 소음방사 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The more sophisticated patterns of propagation model is presented in this paper, which includes three different source characteristics (spherical, cosine and dipole). The spherical, cosine and dipole radiation characteristics compared, and sound event level and the maximum sound level are calculated by experiment and calculation. It is shown that patterns of propagation have dipole characteristics for low speed range (below about 150Km/h) at electric multiple system. We know that push-pull high speed system has cosine characteristics of noise propagation at low speed range (below about 200Km/h).

  • Migration is defined as the movement of people between residential places, and represents interactions between regions. Changes in migration involve changes in both the number of migrants toward/from regions and migration patterns across regions. However, most migration studies have focused only on the change in migrants, while no empirical study captures changes in migration patterns. In this paper, I present a function using the cosine similarity to measure changes in migration patterns, and apply it to 2001-2016 migration data of Korea. The results show that the migration patterns of Korea shifted in 2007, resulting in two distinct clusters. Local areas experienced various migration pattern changes despite few changes in the number of migrants.

  • This paper presents a QR decomposition processor by exploiting Givens rotation for the GDFE (Generalized Decision Feedback Equalizer). A Givens rotation consists of phase extraction, sine/cosine generation and angle rotation parts. Combining two-stage method (coarse and fine stage) and the fixed-width modified-Booth multiplier, we design an efficient QR decomposition processor. By simulations, it is shown that the proposed QR decomposition processor can be a feasible solution for GDFE.

  • A new algorithm for estimating power frequency is presented. Unlike conventional algorithms, the proposed algorithm is based on the fact that the magnitude gains of cosine and sine filters become different when the power frequency is deviated from the nominal value. This makes the algorithm capable of providing an accurate and fast estimate of the power frequency. To demonstrate the performance of the developed algorithm, various computer simulated data records are processed. The algorithm showed a high level of robustness as well as high measurement accuracy over a wide range of frequency changes. Moreover, the algorithm was highly immune to harmonics and noise.

For this purpose, We conduct the experiment of noise and know the empirical formula of noise level and radiation coefficient K. This model of simulation is conducted through point source array model at wheel/rail contact point by using program and experimental formula. We can guess prediction of profile, flat and wear of wheel by above modeling in near field.

  • The modified discrete cosine transform (MDCT) and its inverse transform (IMDCT) are employed in subband/transform coding schemes as the analysis/synthesis filter bank based on time domain aliasing cancellation (TDAC). And they are the most computational intensive operations in layer III of the MPEG audio coding standard. In this paper, we propose a new efficient algorithm for the MDCT/IMDCT computation. It is based on the MDCT/IMDCT computation algorithm using the discrete cosine transforms (DCTs), and it employs two discrete cosine transform of type II(DCT-II) to compute the MDCT/IMDCT. In addition to, it takes advantage of ability in calculating the MDCT/IMDCT computation, where the length of a data block is divisible by 4. The proposed algorithm in this paper requires less calculation complexity than the existing methods. Also, it can be implemented by the parallel structure,, and its structure is particularly suitable for VLSI realization.
