  • In this paper, we propose the novel tracking method which uses the weighted discriminative correlation filter (DCF). We also propose the PSPR instead of conventional PSR as tracker performance evaluation method. The proposed tracking method uses multiple DCF to estimates the target position. In addition, our proposed method reflects more weights on the correlation response of the tracker which is expected to have more performance using PSPR. While existing multi-DCF-based tracker calculates the final correlation response by directly summing correlation responses from each tracker, the proposed method acquires the final correlation response by weighted combining of correlation responses from the selected trackers robust to given environment. Accordingly, the proposed method can provide high performance tracking in various and complex background compared to multi-DCF based tracker. Through a series of tracking experiments for various video data, the presented method showed better performance than a single feature-based tracker and also than a multi-DCF based tracker.

  • This paper propose a target tracker using phase correlation. The tracker consist of a pre-processing module, a translation estimation module based on phase correlation, a fine motion estimation module applied when confidence rate could not fulfill a threshold value and a reference image update module. The fine motion estimation module measure the shift, rotation and scale of input image compared to reference using Fourier-Mellin transform. Proposed tracker was tested its accuracy and robustness using some real indoor and outdoor image sequences.

  • A conventional correlation target tracker is analysed with a simple mathematical approach. And, we will propose a correlation measure with selective attentional property in order to overcome the false-peak problem of the conventional methods. Various experimental results show that the proposed correlation measure is able to reduce considerably the probability of false-peaks degraded by the correlation between background images of a reference block and a distorted and noisy sensor input image.

  • An intelligent multimode target tracking algorithm using fuzzy logic is presented. Multimode tracking represents a synergistic approach that utilizes a variety of tracking techniques(centroid, correlation, etc.) to overcome the limitations inherent in any single-mode tracker. The design challenge for this type of multimode tracker is the data fusion algorithm. designs for this algorithm are based on heuristic rather than analytical approaches. A correlation-tracking algorithm seeks to align the incoming target image with a reference in age of the target, but has a critical problem, so called drift phenomenon. In this paper we will suggest a robust correlation tracker with gradient preprocessor combined by centroid algorithm to overcome the drift problem.

  • The correlation tracker developed by John M. Fitts in 1979 is the most complex to mechanize but provides the best tracking performance in a low SNR condition. Correlation tracker would rewove the requirements for optimizing threshold and has no need to know information about the target. But if the displacement of the target is large, the tracking error of the correlation tracker tends to diverge. In this paper, we suggest a precision image tracking algorithm which improves the tracking performance via iterative application of the matched filter estimation algorithm.

  • In the impulse radio ultra-wideband communication systems, the residual timing offset exists when the acquisition and tracking of the timing synchronization is well done. And the offset affects the performance of the system dramatically. In order to compensate the offset, we present the digital phase-locked loop that uses the reference signal in the correlation detection receiver. First, we show the degradation of BER performance that is caused by the offset, and then compensation process of the timing tracker and performance improvement. In this paper, the timing detector in the tracker operates at the sampling period of frame level uses the correlation between received and reference signal. Also, we present the performance comparison by using the computer simulation results for different Gaussian monocycle pulses.

  • The purpose of the study was to test the reliability and validity of the Korean version of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI-K) and to examine the cutoff point of the PSQI-K for screening insomnia among young adults. The subjective quality and patterns of sleep in 64 participants were measured using PSQI-K and Fitbit Charge 3TM. The properties of the instrument were analyzed using Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the internal consistency reliability, factor analysis for the construct validity, and Spearman's rho correlation coefficient for the correlation between the PSQI-K total scores and Fitbit tracker scores. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the PSQI-K was 0.69. The Spearman's rho correlation coefficient between the PSQI-K and Fitbit tracker was higher than 0.67. A cutoff point of ≥6.0 had a sensitivity of 0.93 and a specificity of 0.84. In conclusion, the PSQI-K is a reliable and valid instrument to evaluate sleep disturbance in Korean young adults.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate sleep patterns in nursing students as measured by an automated wireless sleep tracker and self-reported sleep scales. Methods: Data were collected from October, 2011 to May, 2012. ZQ (a symbolic number that measures the quality and quantity of sleep) was calculated from the automated wireless sleep tracker. Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index-Korean version, Sleep scale A, and sleep satisfaction were used as self-report sleep scales. Female nursing college students (n=37) were recruited by convenience sampling. Before going to bed, they were asked to put on a head-band type sleeping sensor and to move it the next morning. Every student slept 2~4 nights with the sleep tracker. Data were collected for 86 (91.4%) of 94 nights' sleep. The students were also requested to fill in the PSQI-K, sleep scale A, and sleep satisfaction. Results: The only statistically significant correlation was between ZQ and sleep satisfaction (r=.869, p=.026). The biggest obstacle in using this device was putting on the head-band type sensor. Conclusion: Validity of the wireless sleep tracker was verified in part. The usefulness of this device in nursing research and practice was identified. Further evaluation need to be conducted with various populations.

  • Objective: This study aims to explore ways to empirically analyze and manage childcare teachers' job stress based on their relationship with stress-related physiological indicators measured by a fitness tracker. Methods: The study participants were 27 childcare teachers in Gyeonggi-do and wore Garmin's wearable fitness tracker Vivosmart 4 for 15 days for three months. The collected information was analyzed for mean, SD, ANOVA, and correlation using JAMOVI 2.00. Results: First, among the daily changes of physiological indicators measured by a fitness tracker, the data collected on Mondays were significant. On Mondays, the stress index was high, the duration of the rest period was short, and the sleep time was short. The stress of childcare teachers showed a significant negative relationship with the body battery which was calculated by considering the duration of the rest period, heart rate variability, stress, and activity level. Also, the duration of deep sleep was positively correlated with a low degree of stress. There was a significant relationship between the childcare teachers' psychological indicators and the biomarkers measured by fitness trackers. Conclusion/Implications: Stress research using a fitness tracker is big data, and in-depth analysis is possible. Fitness trackers can collect and utilize repeated measurement data for each individual childcare teacher.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient algorithm for adaptation of tracking windwo, which improves tracking performance of a correlation-based video tracker by rejecting background effect originated from a time-varying target. Th eproposed adaptation algorithm ajdusts the size of a tracking window by using the ratio of spatial gradient power in target region to that in backgorund region, which is especially adequate for a correlation-based tracker. Experimental results for synthetic and real image sequences show that the proposed method adapts a tracking window well to a time-varying target and so greatly suppresses background effect, which makes improvement of trakcing performance.
